Sorith Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 tested drow race lol its smaller then CoTS see some problems on body which covered by dark skin edited NIF a bit to remove ugly outfit for naked body, some comparison with CoTS R2 (dont look at dark face, its deleted facegen) btw zazimeldrow.esp have many dirty records and some incorrect (bad relationships for followers), not wonder that ppl have problems with it You also did this for the male Drow child? Then I'd like a download of it if that's ok.

Sorith Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I agree, Jiitek is doing a very good job. So yeah, I don't really need the Drow anymore. I did hear the male child drow did use the female body somehow but the male drow child has that odd grey slip shape down there, I was never able to remove that, even after removing underwear from the female in nifscope. But well, Sky children are enough for me, they look great. Looking forward to R3 and kind of placed playing on hold until it's here.
Yunalesca Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I found a weird bug that I'm unsure where it's from, but when I save my game where it says what race you are on the savefile ingame, it says Sky Children Mi'qote instead of just Sky Children lol it's weird.

Sorith Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Oh yeah.. very nice, kid vampires.. Hey there kid, shouldn't you be at home by now, it's much to dangerou... Oh my god!!! *gets the blood sucked out of him*
thenokiottos Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Is there any way to use Children of the Sky's body+Xvision's face? This mod's body is perfect, but the face looks kind of flattened and expressionless (at least judging from the screenshots in the archive).
abaddon653 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 K having problems, it says I need Racecompatability.esm I am sure I dled everything. What I miss!? Edit: -facepalm- K never mind, I found it. NMM didn't install everything it seems.
diae Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Hello, I am having a huge problem with this mod. I downloaded this mod not too long ago, installed it, and have been playing around with it. Everything installed perfectly, I know what I'm doing so it was easy. I really only wanted to play with the followers (I did not want to play this race myself). The first thing I noticed was that my face on my Nord character was completely messed up. No amount of uninstalling and reinstalling textures were working. Which meant it was a mesh issue, and I don't know how to fix this other than reinstalling my Skyrim, which I really, really, really, really, do -not- want to do. I have read through these forums as well, and others have had the same issues, and everyone seems to be ignoring them and not helping them, so I have read through here hoping for an answer or a fix to this issue, and have found none. Can somebody please help me with this issue, and get my Nord back her actual face? Thanks.
abaddon653 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 -sigh- K didn't like playing as a kid but wanted to keep the mod installed for the rest of the NPCs, went made new character but now my 1st person vision is stuck at child height. Please help.
summerwolf Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 @diae: In your Skyrim/Data folder, delete the following subfolders if present: meshes\actors\character\_1stperson meshes\actors\character\Character Assets textures\actors\character\female textures\actors\character\femalebrows On a glance, those should be the only files in CotS R2 that affect vanilla races. You should also re-install any beauty mods you have installed (Pretty Face, Enhanced Character Edit, ...) as their files might have got overwritten by CotS. If your adult female body mod came with face textures or meshes, you should reinstall those too. @abaddon: In your case, you only need to delete the following folder: meshes\actors\character\_1stperson

This mod's body is perfect, but the face looks kind of flattened and expressionless (at least judging from the screenshots in the archive). You can overwrite whatever you want. I'm actually using a bunch of face and eye mods that CoTS wants to overwrite, and I say no lol. LIkewise, if you've installed CoTS but no face gen mods you might be able to do that and just let them overwrite. What you're looking for is most likely going to be in: \data\meshes\actors\character\character assets\ CoTS places quite a bit out there which would impact all races I think. If you want the XVC stuff I think you could probably just copy the \character assets folder from xvisionc to the default character assets folder. Haven't tried it, like I said I run a bunch of other beauty mods that overwrite all this stuff anyways.

I thought, well, I may as well try to just delete the meshes and see if that works, and it did. So thank you so much for responding to me. The only issue now, is that my little ladies don't have hands! Haha. I'll try to poke around and see if I can fix it. Thanks again!
JerWA Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 <dances a jig> Made some headway on my project finally! Huge shout-out to summerwolf for their assistance, guidance, and patience. And to jiitek for putting up with IMs at weird hours from crazy people on a forum about this awesome mod. Might be able to move on to my next pet project, figuring out how to stop the skeleton from being dumb with camera placement lol. PS: I know I'm not saying what it was. Waiting on jiitek and summerwolf to tell me I didn't break it first haha.
JerWA Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Actually, from personal testing, it seems you only need to disable the RaceMenuPlugin and not the entire RaceMenu mod in order to fix the height issues. This means you won't be able to adjust your height in the race menu itself, but you should be normal height in game this way. The other options in the plugin dont really work for Sky Children anyway so it's not a big loss to disable it for creating a Sky Child. Did some more experimenting. Have a solution now that's pretty good, but not very elegant to implement. I'm replacing the skeleton with this mod and then using this mod to set height, speed, and jump height individually. That fixes the 1st person camera to whatever height you want your character to be, without also gimping your speed and stuff. I tried this with our current skeleton and it doesn't adjust the 1st person view. What I'm concerned about is that setscale has other potential effects like making your character weaker. I can't find any hard data on that, just mentions in guides. So ideally I'd like to find a skeleton, or whatever values our current skeleton needs, that scales properly without having to setscale and tamper with a bunch of unknown variables. I'm probably going to take this on next if jiitek hasn't already sorted it for R3. Anyone with skeleton experience have input on any of this?
uguu123 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 intresting, but (PSA adjusts the base node of the player's skeleton, "skeleton.nif", or "skeleton_female.nif" for female characters.) If you're using a custom skeleton nif that is named something else, let me know and I can make this mod compatible with it. anyway if ini settings+mesh is works fine (except showracemenu without tfc), what the point to use this? you playing few races in one time?

Switching skeletons fixes creation with Race Menu to no longer be hugely the wrong scale and refusing to look directly ahead. Also fixes first person view height to be whatever you want your character to be, along with uncoupling scaling to speed without having to set it in the console manually. Bonus points is that you can use the skeleton I linked above (sorry, forgot it initially) to change dagger and 1h weapon placement as well (NOT well tested, but it worked for me during creation and just equipping some stuff) though you have to get creating with file placements. Oh, and of course the big one, it makes this change character specific rather than impacting the entire game, which I think is a good thing. I'm working on some compatibility type mods, basically just putting other mods into the right placement to impact CoTS (and nothing else when possible). PS: PSA works just fine with the CoTS skeleton names. I didn't change any names, just replaced existing files. If there's interest I may put it together in an NMM installable package to make it easier.

If there's interest I may put it together in an NMM installable package to make it easier. I've personally done a lot of research in this area; scaling should be handled by the actor scale value on the race record(like Bethesda did on all of the vanilla races). Setting actor scale via the console has several negative repercussion and affects your characters damage etc. Using rescaled skeletons causes the chargen menu to not work, breaks npc head tracking, and probably a whole bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting. Like you've discovered yourself, you need to run a skeleton without any downscaling to make Race Menu(or the vanilla chargen) work properly. After that you can use PSA to get your visual height where it needs to be, and adjust your movement speed and jump height as you please. Switching to reduced actor scale will [correctly] reduce your speed and jump height by whatever your scale is set to(so figure about 20%), hence the other benefit of PSA is that you can adjust them back up independent of your scale value. What needs to be taken into account is that CotS uses a skeleton with rescaled bones that helps give the race its look. XPMS also has rescaled bones, however its values are taken from this mod. So I took it upon myself to port the correct scaling over to XPMS; this custom skeleton is based on XPMS, does not have any built in downscaling, has some extra pre-bone nodes for use in translation, and has the same proportions as the skeleton used by CotS. If you also install the skeleton_female.hkx included in XPMS, you are able to use any mods that make use of the extra bones provided by XPMS, however it is not required to use my skeleton. I haven't gotten direct permission directly from xp32 to make this, however the permission statement at the bottom of his mod page is rather... 'open'. So here's my edited skeleton(attached). I also have a 'blank' version without any scaling if anyone is interested. skeleton_female.nif
walrusii Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 It seems like there may be a problem with the download links for the main mod. It's giving me an exe. It's the normal name of the 7zip archive with the .exe appended. I tried removing the .exe and opening with winrar but no joy. The .exe is an installer for something called Softsafe. I didn't dare run it since I don't have any antivirus. I downloaded this mod a few months ago without much trouble. edit: Never mind. I'm a dummy. If anyone else has the same problem, the exe is to install a download client from the website hosting the mod. If you want to download it directly without installing a bunch of spyware you can uncheck the checkbox that says "accelerate download" or something similar before the timer runs down. Thanks for the great mod by the way!
Bracke Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I installed this mod, and it CTD's when I select Sky Children directly from showracemenu and when I type "setrace oraezeracex117" while in first person. When in third person I type "setrace oraezeracex117" and it turns my screen light blue, like the clouds on the top of the first character preset screenshot on the OP. Any way to fix?

It does take away one of my projects but actually having it done right is probably more important than me having things to do. I'll give it a whirl here in a bit and, more than likely, cast my vote for it as a replacement over the generic XPMS. Edit: Hawk when I use this skeleton I'm getting the default 1.06 scale from PSA, and scale 1 puts me at 6' like a Nord. What'd I break? Or this as it should be until/if/when ESP changes to the race are made? My noobism is showing I'm sure. Chances are good you've got install paths wrong. Did you try to use NMM on the downloads on the first page? If you go look in your Skyrim\data directory do you see a bunch of folders that start with OPTION -?
RockMic Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Excuse me one thing when I went to showracemenu to change something at my pc race nord, I realized that I had only three color options red eyes yellow and white, I do not understand what happened to the other thirty, please help thanks.
