Sorith Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I took this voice http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19099 Took the file out with FO3 nif reader and created a folder named in the sound folder to skyrim.esm then a new folder with maleventoned and now his voice is Link From Zelda which I think fits great! Yeah that voice is awesome, I have it on my male Drow child, I just had no idea how to open and make that file compatible with my sky child and thus used the other mod. Do you have a link to that FO3 program so I can download it? I cannot find it.
jiitek Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Hello, first of all, thank you for all the awesome work. Second, I've got two small suggestions for your consideration (apologies if any of this has been brought up before). 1) Changing the race name to "Sky Child" (singular). It makes sense that a race as a collective should be called Children, but in the actual game the string is usually used singularly (referring to the player character). I think Sky Child would look better in the skills menu or in the save data than Sky Children. 2) Are all the color presets really necessary? Sure it's nice to have a lot of choice during character creation, but it seems like there's literally around a hundred of colors to choose from and many of them look similar. I've noticed that ever since I switched to R2, TES5Edit has been taking considerably longer to launch; YChildren of the Sky.esp takes more than a minute to load compared to less than a second on most other plugins, and it takes a while to view the OraezeRaceX117 form as well. 1. already done 2. the colour enabled version is removed in R3 as there are better ways as explained in the new info - just dont use OPTION - Prepatched Slider Colours Version for now - just use the default .esp I took this voice http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19099 Took the file out with FO3 nif reader and created a folder named in the sound folder to skyrim.esm then a new folder with maleventoned and now his voice is Link From Zelda which I think fits great! thanks will check that out EDIT: ah its that one...I think it sounds a bit to much like a goblin?
umbratotalus Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Hiya Jitek, I'll be happy to chat to you about how to implement a better vanilla re-mesh thing, making it so that we don't have to find a random chest with all of the goodies inside, or without having to implement a new recipe (which is my next endevour) for which to have to custom make the new re-meshed armors. I have sent you a PM, turns out my PM thing was disabled and I forgot to re-enable it.
Sorith Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Yes that voice is not bad at all - gonna pitch it down a bit... Thanks, that voice is really good, only the sounds when he gets hit by an attack sound too girly yes which is the only downside, so cool that you're able to pitch that down a bit.
xxSofiex Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Hi! I have a question, can the armor only be worn by female characters? Because when I put them on my male Sky Children character, his hands and feet disappear and the clothes show up as fur armor on him :/ I know I installed the armor mod correctly, too! Also, when I wear say, a Novice robe, there's this random gap that appears around his collarbone: Is there any way to fix this?

Look for mod armor.
Choden Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Edited my earlier post. Been so long since I changed my player race I forgot. On the character height issue, That has now only happened to me after I first installed it and about the third or forth time I ran it. It has not happened again and I cannot repeat it. I just tried a dozen different ways. Where is Race Menu.esp in your load order? although that should not matter. Another mod is getting in the way. Have you tried moving it all the way down to the bottom? Also are you using RaceMenuPlugin.esp? That's the one responsible for resetting your 1st person camera height. I really don't know what its for and have it turned off and it works fine. Do you have any mods installed that affect the player directly? Edit : According to the author, there is an issue with it not working correctly on a new game untill after you save it once. Have you tried installing it, load the game you want and then create another save, exit and and then restart from the new save? Thank you for this disabling RaceMenuPlugin.esp fixed my 1st person camera height issue. Now i no longer feel 8 feet tall in 1st person.
Sorith Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 @ xxsofiex. What Taiolu said, but you were talking about the mod armor I see and that is for the females yes and sadly does not work on the males yet. 'Yet' because Jiitek is also working on it to get to try and get it to work on males and/or make armor for males that looks about the same as the female mod armor. (correct me if I am a bit off here) I know because I asked about the same thing some days ago when I tried to wear that beautiful Zhaetheria legend and BNS Assassin retouch on my male, I love those as they show skin, especially the upper body I usually want bare.

Also, when I wear say, a Novice robe, there's this random gap that appears around his collarbone: Is there any way to fix this? On the previous page I explained this occurrence. For your benefit I will repeat my explanation: Actually, this occurs due to the use of the armor mesh for the adult bodies rather than a mesh specifically designed for the Children of the Sky mesh. Thus, due to the size difference between the mesh for adults and the mesh for the children, there is a gap at the neck seam between the neck and the shoulders. If you look at the fur armor with the bit around the waist, you would notice the, if using the Better Males mod by either Sundracon or FavoredSoul, distinctive ab shapes that the adult males have, in comparison to the very undefined flatness of the Children.

Seth Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Is there any underwear for males? If I equip the female underwear their.. thing.. sticks out.
umbratotalus Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Is there any underwear for males? If I equip the female underwear their.. thing.. sticks out. Sounds like something for Jitek to look into implementing, since the boys aren't always going to be completely clothed or completely naked, it'd be nice to have a piece of underwear so that if some random comes up behind me while I play at least his bits aren't hanging out and there is some semblance of non-nudity
allerum Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/34 That is the tool I used sorry it wasn't .nif file That was something else I was working on with the 1rst person cam. I opened the .bsa File that came from Nexus from that mod.

I opened the .bsa File that came from Nexus from that mod. Thank you. @ Seth I guess optional underwear for those who want that could be nice, like a nice boxershort or something. My char does not need it and I like it as is, the wind you know, feels good!
Seth Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I'm also wondering, how I would go about changing default outfits of npcs using the CK. For example. I want a certain npc to wear a piece from the CotS gear package as their default clothing. If I change the mod of said clothing it works but only if it's put last in the load order, which should be xvisionchildren otherwise some heads look weird. If I load up xvisionchildren together with the gear mod and then set xvisionchildren to active plugin and I change the npc in there, that doesnt work. Any thoughts?

Create a new, clean plug-in with no dependancies. Load both mods, with the new, empty plugin as the active file, save your outfit edits to that, put it at the bottom of your load order. It's not the best solution, but it should work.
Seth Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I just tried, doesnt work. Some faces look weird and the armor doesnt show on designated npc.
Night~Sky Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Oh, wait, are you trying to add COTS outfit/armor to a pre-existing (as in Vanilla) child NPC? Because that...yeah, that won't work. The pre-existing NPC children aren't actually the same "race" as the playable Sky Children. They're still flagged as actual children in the CK, which prevents them equipping armor/outfits not made specifically for the child race(s).
Seth Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 That's what I'm trying to do yeah. I don't get why it's not possible then because they aren't wearing vanilla armor anymore after installing CotS right?
Night~Sky Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 The child NPC's are still part of the original races; nordchild, bretonchild, bretonchildvampire (babette). The "Sky Children's Clothes" they wear in place of the original children's clothes were specifically made to be equippable by them. The actual clothing set Dorthe wears shows the difference (if you equip it yourself, you'll notice it only covers half your feet; the bottom half of the shoes is added by a matching equipped foot item, if you try to equip any other kind of footwear with that outfit, your feet disappear/all sorts of funny graphic bugs occur). This is because that outfit was rigged for the NPC child races, and simply compatiblized to use on the playable COTS race. I know it's rather complicated and my explanation is probably quite hard to follow (honestly I have trouble completely comprehending it myself, the mod is great but very confusing in places).
Seth Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 No, good explanation. I understand! Thanks for the help anyway!!
