Don't think I've seen this mentioned before, but CoTS R2 fems appear to be totally compatible with the fitness normal map and the no more bronze map.

No real seam, but there is a color difference. Could probably blend that if it came down to it.

Wonder if we should start some list of mods and tweaks that work well alongside CoTS.

jiitek? You OK with this sorta thing? I  this mod, I just can't avoid tweaking hehe.

I'm pretty sure Jiitek's cool with it. He seems to be happy to see anyone add something to COTS, which I can't say is surprising because it's one of the biggest "race mods" around and the dude has to have a breaking point somewhere lol

Krayce: I wouldn't recommend running COTS without ApachiSkyhair. You can, but I don't recommend it - you wont have many hair options, especially hair options that line up with the actual head properly.

Ychildren of the sky.esp absolutely must be activated. That is the ESP that actually adds the playable COTS to the game. xvision children.esp is the one that overhauls the NPC child characters to look like COTS characters.

Also, you should -really- be running "Live Another Life" to use custom races. You can still play through the original helgen sequence from LAL's starting setup anyway, but LAL's altered start-up helps with compatibility.

He Y'all. Great mod! Having a blast for sometime, however recently I tried the Followers Beta, they act fine but the follower only speak when she is attacking.

It'll be nice if she say "Yes?" or something a like when I speak to her. Or is it just me?

Thanks.

think we can get this WITHOUT the virus? lol

Avira? Never heard of it. But don't worry, it's clean.

opps yeah it's not a virus, it's Adware. had my detections up to high. still that begs the question.. why is there spyware in a skyrim mod file? haha

He said it's trying to give him an EXE. What are you downloading exactly? What link did you follow? There aren't any EXEs for this mod that I know of. :s

If you click the first download link (uploading.com) on the opening post, and do not remove the "Use Download Accelerator" checkbox, it tries to serve you Children_of_the_sky_-R2.7z.exe.  (I presume the download accelerator has the adware in it)

He needs to uncheck that checkbox, then you will be served Children_of_the_sky_-R2.7z which is the file you want.

Well those extra add ons just made it so my game won't go past the title screen. Can't even load old games.

CoTS-compatible NMM-friendly versions of:

CoTS - Fitness v001 - 31 Mar 2013 [x117 - UBB - Weight-Slider]

- Sources: Fitness Body (using v4.1 UNP Skinny - 22 Mar 2013)

- Notes: Female body only, not tested with UBB.

CoTS - No Bronze v001 - 31 Mar 2013 [x117 - UBB - Weight-Slider]

- Sources: No More Ugly Bronze Shine (using v1.3 - 20 Feb 2013)

- Notes: Should work for male but isn't tested yet.

CoTS - No-Nude Female v002 - 30 Mar 2013 [x117 - UBB - Weight-Slider]

- Sources: Plain white bikini top and bottom from Bikini Trouble (using v1.2 UNP Skinny - 03 Jan 2013)

- Notes: Places irremovable underwear on the female body only. Might be able to make a UBB version using CoTS child clothing assets if anyone wants one.

You do not need any of the original mods. I'm referencing them to give credit where credit is due, and to let you preview what the mods are for/do.

Colors mean: Green = Compatible, Grey = Untested, Red = Not Compatible

NMM-friendly means:

+ You can add it to NMM via Add Mod From File.

+ "Activating" it will put the files in the right places.

+ NMM will automagically keep the original files these modify so you can easily uninstall/change it back.

NMM-friendly does not mean:

- That these will ever be downloadable via Nexus.

- That you can't install manually. All of them are still just Data folders you can easily copy over yourself if you want.

Show the spoiler for the 3 mods I've got working and packaged. There are NO DOWNLOADS YET. Don't get click happy then get mad at me when you realize the links are to the vanilla mods that won't do anything for CoTS.

Problem is I don't have any of their approvals to be using their resources, even if they are unmodified (all I'm really doing is packaging them so they go to the right paths to work with CoTS).

Bikini Trouble is the exception, in that I'm breaking open his huge BSA and taking out just one item. That item isn't modified, but it does become the integrated outfit.

What are your thoughts jiitek and company? Is posting compatibility-modded mods like this OK? I don't want to get anyone in trouble, make anyone angry, start fights with other mod authors, etc. Feedback welcome.

I'm using the UNP Skinny version for most of these simply because it's what I run on my main replacement. If another version would work better just let me know. Same goes if there's other mods people want ported.

PS: If everyone says this is kosher I'll probably have to go make a post for them so as to stop hijacking jiiteks threads. :D

Missing a master most likely. That happens when you add a mod written for DLC you don't have. What mods did you add? What version of them? If you de-activate them one at a time you'll eventually figure out which one is doing it.

Turns out it was the update I needed for LAL so back to  a clean install.

:)

Jitek should really put a torrent up for this for r3, the .torrent file can be an attachment.

I surely will switch the filehoster for future uploads as I noticed their evil methods - the "download accelerator" they want you to download is even renamed atomatically for the given download...double tricky ...bastards - sorry for the trouble just chose the filehoster "blind".

For torrents...I´m not able to seed it...I even have problem to up /or download anything as most of the time I´m on a capped line...

Oh and...houston we have a problem...or a new feature - comes down to how you see it XD

So...I´m in chat with people about implementing the armor addons (that your char automatically equippes a CotS version of vanilla armor)

At this point I tried literally everything and found 2 methods of doing this - but - it cant be done without a downside.

Either the new armor addons are working but your char loses compatibility to any other gear that is not made as an armor addon for CotS - this includes literally every item + custom armor...

Or the new armor addons are working but any custom NPC will wear the CotS armor addon instead of the vanilla one by default.

This means that if you for example have a custom adault follower wanting to wear a vanilla armor torso it will show the CotS version of it.

So this is a problem - but at the same time (if youre using child followers) it can be an advancement.

This is how I have it now - and if I dont find a better solution I´ll release this as it is now as an optional addon.

Bottom line - I think - and please proove me wrong^^ the only way to do this perfect is scripting it - that I wont do for the upcoming R3...

So if anyone has a tested, working solution for this (you can test this on any race plugin) drop me a msg - or - and I think I saw someone chatting about scripting this in the old thread) if you want to help with this also drop me a msg

Personally I don't really care for default armor, CotS or Vanilla, as long as I can wear practically anything that I want, be it CotS specific armor or vanilla armors.

I would not worry about it. That would be more along the lines of a "convenience feature". Realistically  your a kid dragonborn. Any armors you find in the game or steal, would not fit you any way.  Your armor would have to be custom made.  I would not give that idea another though for now.  Your Dragonborn "Get crafting"

Seems to me there's a simple (I always use this term relatively; it's actually a fair bit of work, though it's not complicated) sollution:

Retain COTS characters only being able to equip armor made for COTS characters. It works out better - as people have said, it makes no sense for a kid to be able to pick up and wear a piece of armor made for someone twice their size anyway.

Instead, for immersion/world-integration:

Make three or four "encounter" NPC templates for male and female COTS characters to suit the bandit, forsworn, and necromancer/rogue conjurer factions, and add them to the levelled list, so they randomly appear amongst those enemies normally.

COTS players will then be able to pick up and use armor dropped by those COTS enemies, which would both make sense and add to the world-integration factor of COTS.

It's a fair bit of work but it's not particularly complicated or difficult. It's mostly just mundane form editing.

Actually there's a mod which adds x117 bandits available already and with that installed you can usually find at least one in the Embershard mine next to Riverwood.

Most likely, the body skeleton used for the armor.  Most vanilla armors use the vanilla body... unp armors use the unp mesh, etc.  Basically... for example... if you equip a unp armor on a cots character, she will have a bigger chest and hip size than if she were naked since it swaps out her body mesh for the unp mesh instead... cots would do the opposite causing anyone who equips the armors to have the measurements of a cots character instead of their default mesh.  hope that makes sense.

Yeah, I thought that was more of a weighting issue. I don't know if it would be easier to start over just for CoTS or if you could reweight something from UNP to play nicely with both. I was actually wondering that in the armor thread. If I could figure out how I might actually take on trying to reweight UNP stuff so that armor weight 0 is CoTS and armor weight 100 is equivalent to UNP Skinny weight 0 (or CBBE Skinny, whichever one is closer) or something along those lines.

The main problem I think with doing that would be UBB, which I imagine wouldn't play nicely with that idea at all because of the geometry. I could be wrong, maybe it would be possible to weight 0 UBB, weight 50 x117, weight 100 UNP Skinny/CBBE Skinny. Anyone with meshing experience have any input on how painful that process would be?

Of course, if we end up having to remake everything for CoTS I won't be happy with only one race. I'll become my pet project to remake all the vanilla races as CoTS. CoTS Orcs hahaha. :D
