en_hawk Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Can I bug you two fine upstanding members of the LL community one more time? I discovered PSA is not friendly some other mods because it screws up bbp stuff. I disabled the esp when confirming this, and found that my chars height did not change at all afterwards. So what I'm wondering is if you might be able to tell me if the changes PSA makes in scale settings is permanent.  What I'm thinking is I can activate it when I want to adjust a new character, then deactivate it for the actual playing. Or will all the scale stuff go out the window and leave me with the same thing I would have had I just done a basic "setscale"?  PSA adjusts your actors scale to make its changes, just as using 'setscale' in the console would do. Try 'setscale 1'.
uguu123 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 And here's my version. Not sure if en_hawk put the weapon scaling back in or not, but this is as close on the proportions as we collectively could get (mostly hawk haha).  I've also included the updated ESP to address scaling in-game and change the voice. That might be stupid on my part, so please chime in if that's not something I should have done and it's the end of the world.  Also, I saw no permissions limitations on the first post, but if jiitek wants this to come down I'll do so immediately. This is also completely free for jiitek to do with as he pleases, including throwing it away or adding it to R3, or making me update it for R3.1 or something. But only jiitek, because this is his work to begin with.  That said...  CoTS-R2 Skeleton Update v001 Click to read all about it  CoTS R2 - Skeleton Update Version: 001 Released: 08 Apr 2013  Requires: Children of The Sky R2 MAY require Skyrim 1.9 for the ESP. uguu123 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 wonder will jiitek release something in this month or r3 need much more time
en_hawk Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Pretty sure you will still need to make the camera changes in the ini file. Â What all was edited on this skeleton, and what skeleton is it based off of? What features does it have (BBP, Shield/Dagger on back, etc.)? This was explained across the past two pages, across various posts. Short version; it switches the mod from skeleton based scaling to actor based scaling(race based, specifically). Â The included skeleton is vanilla 1.0 height, however it contains the same resized proportions that are in the default CotS skeleton, without the downscaling. It's also based on XPMS, so it supports whatever XPMS does. The included esp patches the races default scale to 0.78 instead of 1.0. You still need the camera bits in your ini, and you will probably still have trouble with furniture. First person view is a wash, somtimes I've had it work perfectly without the first person skeleton, sometimes it doesn't work at all. My solution was to just use PSA and let it take care of it instead, YMMV.
donews Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 wonder will jiitek release something in this month or r3 need much more time   Jiitek works very well  I prefer a modder who take his time than an other who need to update his work every week
JerWA Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 For me this fixed the first person camera entirely, it scales perfectly to height. If I set player scale .5 or 1.5 camera stays right with it. Also fixes the too-small-to-see during character creation (forgot to mention), and the won't look straight ahead during character creation. Â Also, for me at least, PSA was being a real PITA (lol) after making this change, wanting to turn me into a Nord all the time. I've actually had no problems at all disabling PSA now that this skeleton is in place. A lot of this is dependent on what other mods you have that might be tampering, so as en_hawk said, your mileage may vary. Â This is "vanilla" XPMS I'm pretty sure, so weapon placement is normal. That might be changed later, or another version offered that does. It's actually on my to-do list to tweak placement a bit anyways as there is some clipping with the weapon size increase. Nothing huge, and it's exactly like the normal skeleton in this regard, but if I'm messing about with it might as well do what I can. (FWIW, the original CoTS skeleton is also XPMS based, I think all we've done is update it a touch and remove the built in scaling) Â As for the INI tweaks, I'm not sure what they do as I've never used them. 1st and 3rd person seem fine to me now with no INI changes (for this anyways), but 3rd person is offset to one side quite a bit. Maybe that's normal, I don't know as I don't play 3rd person. Â For me sitting is still adjusting incorrectly. I'm not surprised by this as I think it's either based on a specific node of the skeleton, which we scaled as closely as possible to the original, or some unrelated value hiding in there that didn't get changed at all. Also on my list to find, if possible. Â PS: None of this is meant as a slight against jiitek. I love this mod, I'm just trying to contribute what I can. I know a ton of work goes into this and it's a lot for one person to do. So I'm learning some modding skills and maybe, just a little, taking 1% of the load off jiitek. If nothing else this will all be unnecessary in R3 but I can take my new found skills and use them to help with R3.1 or whatever.
JerWA Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 When trying to download this the download sites keep trying to download a virus. It seems randomd though because after a few tries i was able to get the main mod but still no luck with downloading the gear just keep getting the virus  There's a checkbox somewhere in the download process for enabling an "accelerator." Disable that and you should get the .7z file. Basically if you get an EXE it's bogus, don't download it.
uguu123 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 its not virus, its adware, scumware or like this tbh i didnt saw real viruses long time  its time for network worms and such stuff time, when virus infecting alot of exe/com files is almost finished.
Seth Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Just noticed Jiitek hasnt been online since april 2nd. Hope he's okay (read: hope he's busting his balls to finish R3)!
JerWA Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013  Two questions. 1. Will having this mod and AshenTrap on at the same time screw up one or both? It seems the AshenTrap mod's stuck in the game regardless of whether it's on or not.  2. Does this mod work with SexiS?  Sorry if there's already an answer in the thread, but I'm too tired at the moment to check every page.   1. Works fine, as does installing and uninstalling AT. 2. Can has ban plz?  Does this work with Bodyslide?  I think anything can work with bodyslide. None of the CoTS specific stuff would then fit, so I don't think there'd be much point.\  Edit: To clarify a bit more, I believe the body meshes and such that Bodyslide output could be made to replace CoTS resources, but none of the armors or clothes would be replaced and would therefor not fit.

That body is custom, I don't think anything not CoTS (or possibly AT) designed will work with it.  It's not CBBE compat, I can tell you that much. Try UNP, might have better luck at least with the texture lining up.
JerWA Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Perhaps get a screenshot before and after ? I'm curious thanks! Â Nothing to see. A major part of the exercise was to see if we could get the new skeleton in there without it impacting anything visually. I didn't want to alter the spirit of the mod in any way, just update the skeleton a bit to sort out some problems. I might at some point try my hand at doing a swords-on-back kind of thing, but that's not going to happen any time soon. Almost certainly until after R3 when we see where we stand and what would help jiitek out. Â The two biggest changes that you'd notice are during character creation and the first person camera. And if en_hawk and I have done our job correctly, those differences will only be noticeable to someone who's fought with them before. Ideally, these fixes will just make the whole experience smoother so you can get on with playing your new character and not think about this stuff at all. Â Oh, and I guess in my ESP the voice, though honestly I haven't noticed it changing anything in my game yet. I was mostly experimenting with that out of curiosity and didn't feel like making a billion flavors of the ESP when I have zero intention of keeping it up. Â --- Â Just going to highlight this (not aimed at you bbbower), All of these "mods" and "updates" are just proof of concepts or fixes for things I'm hoping will go into R3, or R3.1 or whatever to help out jiitek if I can. None of these are official in any way, and are not meant to be official replacements or updates or anything like that. Think of this as an alpha test, and if you try this stuff you're a tester. Â No guarantees, play at your own risk, etc, etc. Please make a backup/save of your character before using any unofficial updates! If something I do breaks you, or if something I change isn't R3 compatible, that won't be jiiteks fault at all and you'll only be able to blame ME and I probably won't be able to help you.

JerWA Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 And I'm pretty sure the only change I did beyond that was the voice. I have a lot of facegen choices that aren't valid, I think RaceMenu is doing it. Tons of eyes but with bad locations, only a handful place properly. Forgot all about the ESP doing odd things during chargen for non-CoTS races. I don't know that I'm skilled enough to figure that one out, and I think it's sorted in R3 so probably a waste of time.
chan Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Some facegen data is in the Oriental directory, and other is in the xVision directory. I am using Race Menu 1.5 and ECE 1.0 together, with no problems. Used them separately before, and both work.
