Weird bug im getting from using the wait system...my character randomly becomes addicted to alcohol

This is while she's not carrying any and i think it's only occurring during the 'wait 1 hour' hasn't happened with the 5 hours.

Weird. I have no clue. From everything I've always read the method I used was safe, but I can in no way claim to be an expert. Had you used alcohol near when this happened? It could be it's rolling the dice again for some reason as world stuff goes on during this wait method.

I will say alcohol addiction in Fallout 4 is somewhat buggy at the vanilla level. Sometimes the game will register addiction dialogue for Hardship when you are simply almost addicted, because of how the game reads certain values wrong. Besides suggesting you console in an addictol I don't know that I can help. If I get wide reports of this I might look into a pre-emptive countermesure, but if not that'd probably be a bit heavy handed.

Anyway I'll be running Crackle when I get back to playtesting Hardship so I'll keep an eye out.

@Tentacus thanks for the great immersive mod, it is especially cool with JoeR's Advanced Needs 2. The only problem I have is a bit funny: since Crackle uses AAF, its actions are treated as sex by other AAF plugins like Sex Attributes or AAF Spectators. AFAIK, Sexlab for Skyrim has something like non-sex markings for specific animations, but I couldn't find anything about such a feature in AAF. So is it possible to make other AAF mods recognize animations from Crackle as non-sex?

They are already tagged as poses that's just about the best I can do. It's the fault of those other mods for not excluding poses from their stats. I had to do that myself for my mod Porno Music. If you contact the mod authors they can probably do that pretty easily. IIRC Spectators was @EgoBallistic I've been known to use that mod so yeah it'd be pretty awkward if you gathered a crowd every time you sat on the ground :D

Hmm, I thought I had made Spectators ignore animations tagged as Pose but it's entirely possible I forgot.  I'll go recheck and update if needed.  Thanks for the notice.

Edit: OK, thanks :)

@Tentacus@EgoBallistic Sorry, guys, it was my wrong observation. Actually AAF Spectators works correctly with Crackle, but Sex Attributes increases Sex Level with any action from Crackle. So I will report this to Sex Attributes topic, thanks for response.

That's a good idea... It's not like Crackle is the only posing mod that uses AAF. :)

Glad Spectators works correctly. Though it woulda been kinda funny to have people gather around you while you are sleeping on a park bench.

Does this mod truly need Wasteland Workshop? From the description it seems to just be to have the animation for the fire barrel. I haven't tested it yet, just NMM has the red flag of missing DLC esm

Yeah it needs it because it references the workshop campfire and fire barrel objects added in WW.

Thats a shame. I had the DLCs back on ps4 but found them so lackluster that I didn't find it worth the money again on PC. Thanks for the quick reply

Well it's kinda like the DLCs for Skyrim. It's worth having them on PC because a lot of mods make use of the assets.

Hey, really liking this mod!  I have one small personal preference request/suggestion: would it be possible to add an MCM setting to turn off the automatic pop-up menu after sitting/laying?  I always find myself choosing the "just sit/just lay" option because I haven't had a chance to position the camera so that I can see my character, get a screenshot, etc.  Then using the hotkey again to choose to Wait/Sleep.  If that is possible it would be appreciated! if not, no worries - thanks again for the mod.

I'll consider it. Might be a good idea.

I've been using this mod a lot recently and I really love it. It's great having the ability to sleep anywhere I'd like, and to have it fully animated.

One thing I was wondering is whether you'd ever consider extending the sleep functionality of this mod to beds/mattresses/sleeping bags as well. I know there's already the mod See You Sleep on the Nexus, but I find Crackle's implementation of animated sleeping much better and more reliable. I currently have both Crackle and See You Sleep in my load order to cover all the bases, but it'd be nice if Crackle just took care of everything. Animated sleeping via AAF seems less buggy and prone to getting stuck than the alternative method, at least to me.

Anyway, it's just a small suggestion. I know how busy you are with Hardship so I'm not meaning to take your focus away from that.

Thanks for making this mod, it's a great addition to any survival playthrough.

I have considered it. There is a technical challenge involved but it should be quite possible. I'll give it some thought when I have time.

So, I had decided to start a new game, since waiting for Project Red's fix of Cyberpunk, and I could not figure out for the life of me as to why I had only 14 instead of the customary 21 SPECIAL points (you know, doing the whole registering thing with what's his face).  I sat there looking at my monitor something quite akin to...

Spoiler

Just puzzling and puzzling until I remembered, finally, that really the only new mod in my load order in starting this new game was Crackle.  So for science I uninstalled it, loaded the new save, and, lo & behold, 21 points!  I came here to report it only to discover there was recently a required update for compatibility of AAF 161.1.  So, I updated it.  Loaded the new save, and, to my relief, still 21 points!

I thought it was funny.  I just had to share.  Also, a public service announcement of sorts, I guess, if anyone else finds themselves in a similar predicament.

That's quite a weird bug. My gut says it's a coincidence as I don't touch special stuff with this... Not even sure how I could :) The buffs are administered through hidden potions.

Anyway glad it's working for you now.

Any chance of the earlier versions being put back up for DL? For some reason my AAF does not like the xmls in the current version and says it can't parse them.

(...of course, I say this while it inexplicably doesn't like several xml's from AAF plugins but it seems to work fine with earlier xmls of the exact same things. )

The XMLs in this mod haven't changed. Only the scripts to accomodate 2 recent changes to AAF having to do with adding and removing a new scene stop. The older versions won't work with current AAF anymore because of this. So sorry I can't. You may just have a bugged AAF install and should redownload it, and if that doesn't work redownload Crackle, also make sure all of AAF's requirements are up to date.

That's because you're using an older version of AAF which can't parse the xml.

You can fix it by changing the first line of the xml to the older format. I've done that for several mods/animation packs and they work just fine. Buuuuut... if you don't know how... update AAF and animations...
