PraetorSylvor Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I have a small problem. Actually' date=' it's rather large. When I place the NVSEE MAP in the NVSE plugin folder, it says that I don't have the right version. When I place the NVSEE .dlls in the NVSE plugin folder, NVSE won't start FNV. Am I doing something wrong? And before you ask, yes, I'm running the latest NVSE beta. Kind regards whisky158 [/quote'] You may think you have the latest NVSE beta, but you don't. That's what the first line in the log tells you. Get v3B2. Nope, I do have the Beta installed. I reinstalled it three times now, but no difference.
DoctaSax Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 If you had the latest beta installed, NVSE runtime: initialize (version = 2.0.12 would be NVSE runtime: initialize (version = 3.0.2 so you either downloaded the 'latest stable release' instead of the beta, or you're not installing in the right place. NVSE v3b2 goes into the root folder, where your game exe is. the NVSEE plugins go into Data/NVSE/plugins. I don't see what else it could be.

But before I installed the beta I did have the stable version installed. Maybe that's it? Going to check now. I'll let know if it helps.

This is what's in my folder right now: Backup map Data map atimgpud.dll binkw32.dll Fallout_default FalloutNV.exe FalloutNV pictogram GDFFalloutNV.dll high InstallScript.vdf libvorbis.dll libvorbisfile.dll low Main Title song medium nvse_1_4.dll nvse_1_4ng.dll nvse_editor_1_4.dll nvse_loader nvse_readme nvse_steam_loader.dll nvse_whatsnew Readme steam_api.dll unins000.dat unins000 VeryHigh And that's it.
jaam Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 As long as nvse.log does not report the correct version, it is either badly installed or not used at all. Also the last modification time of nvse.log should be the last time you started Fallout. And most plugins inside data\nvse\plugins should generate its own log in the game folder.
PraetorSylvor Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I deïnstalled the game, reïnstalled everything, but all NVSE loader does is make a small cmd-like screen pop up, but after that, nothing.
DoctaSax Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I've just noticed this in your NVSE log: fallout root = C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas\ It's not advised to install the game to a Program Files folder. Might be a UAC problem. Also, I didn't think NV came w/o steam.

I usually install all my programs there so it didn't cross my mind. Thanks a lot!
Silentone89 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 "Install the extender by extracting the contents to the data/nvse/plugins directory." C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas Not sure if I missed a step, but NVSE doesn't have any information that goes into the data folder.
KainsChylde Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 NVSE itself doesn't. But NVSE extenders come from several different mods, and extenders and other NVSE utility plugins go in data/NVSE/plugins
Silentone89 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 NVSE extender only has 2 dll files in it. Do I just make the NVSE and plugins folder myself?
BruceWayne Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 NVSE extender only has 2 dll files in it. Do I just make the NVSE and plugins folder myself? Yes, if they aren't there, you have to create the folders yourself.

darkoraclegirl Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 When I start the game with this installed it tells me that I need NVSE extender v9 and that I have v0. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?
BruceWayne Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 When I start the game with this installed it tells me that I need NVSE extender v9 and that I have v0. Why is this happening and how do I fix it? !!! NOTICE !!! Make sure you install the latest BETA of NVSE. As of now' date=' that is NVSE V3 beta 2, available here. Edit: Also make sure that you put the Extender dlls in your "data/NVSE/plugins/" folder. If those folder don't exist, you have to create them yourself. Don't install the extender nor NVSE with your mod manager. They have to be installed manually.

Vaulterade Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Either it's me, or my computer, because I dropped the DLLs in the plugins folder of my NVSE and still says I have version 0. I have the latest NVSE, both the extenders, and nothing is working.
DoctaSax Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Sexout doesn't take what's called the 'latest version' on the NVSE site. It takes the latest beta. V3B2.
Vaulterade Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Which is what I'm running. I've been messing with it for a couple hours now, still can't figure out the reason for the problem.
DoctaSax Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 As far as I can tell, the message that says you have version 0 only appears if 1) the NVSE Extender dll's aren't installed in data/nvse/plugins 2) people aren't running NVSE v3b2 3) people aren't loading the game with NVSE loader (if it'll even start up then) 4) people don't have a standard version of the game Usually, it's 1 or 2, even if people are sure they have it right.
srayesmanll Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Which is what I'm running. I've been messing with it for a couple hours now' date=' still can't figure out the reason for the problem. [/quote'] Quick check - you say you have it in the plugins folders. Double-check the spelling of the folder. A common misstep is that people will name the folder 'plugin' and not 'plugins'. It's a common error, so just double-check to make sure. (just to reiterate, the NVSE Extender V11 dlls go in the ../data/nvse/plugins folder).
Vaulterade Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 they're labelled as 'plugins', still no luck. It says I need v9 have v0 and that's it. *Edit* reinstalled NVSE and the extender and boom, magic, it worked. Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated.
darkskull Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 when i install the NVSE extender my nvse crashes, and the game won't start. i am using the latest beta, and it is installed in the right folder.
