Some people will never understand that if you don't like a mod you simply walk by. Imho comments should only be used to show your respect to the mod author or to point out bugs like wrong values in the esp or missing files in the download. You don't bitch about design decisions you don't like or try to convert anyone to your world view. Sadly respect for different opinions is at an all-time low worldwide.

 

That being said: it would be a shame if you stopped development of this mod. That is coming from one of the silent majority who rarely post here but still like your mods

Goes without saying how many fans Ivy has. Our only real problem is being patient until 6 is released.

If there is anything we can do to help get posters banned for author harassment - let us know.

There are too few good authors as is - we can't afford to lose any.

If you check on Reginald's Ivy Discord channel, he does have one of his own, Reginalds Multi Follower I think it's called. Allows one other companion, recruited and dismissed through a holotape. Works very well, especially if you also use a Dogmeat mod and/or companion mod that doesn't use the vanil companion slot (like Heather Casdin, or any followers added in the Thuggysmurf mods).

 

Figured I'd also add "my" favorite follower Valkyries, Ivy and Heather. And yes, it was a cool morning...

I'm sorry you've had to deal with trolls, Reginald. I noticed that, nowadays, a good portion of people have been so spoiled that they feel entitled to other peoples' work and think they have the right to dictate and demand, and if they don't get what they want they resort to childish petty behaviors.  If anything, people like that should be pitied, because they live in a world made of smoke, mirrors and fake rainbow projectors. Someone made them believe their whole lives they're royalty, when all their riches are made of paper, and someday reality will hit them hard when REAL world issues reach them, and they won't have the strength to face them.

 

I hope you know that the huge majority of the community adore Ivy and appreciate you and your hard work. A few rotten apples won't be able to corrupt the whole batch and ruin what you've created

So sorry you have to deal with trolls.  Ivy is beautiful and I don't mean in a looksmenu kinda of way. I mean in the depth you put into her backstory, personality, and dialogue.  I've got close to 1800 hours in Fallout 4 and Ivy is my number one companion.  Even when I have completed her journey. Why?  Because you did such an outstanding job on her, on the mod.  I can laugh with her and feel sympathy for her. She is that immersive and the story, writing is that good. 

 

So try and ignore the trolls.  Remember, for every one of them, you have hundreds, if not thousands of loyal fans who enjoy wandering the Commonwealth with Ivy and do appreciate your creativity.

I have enjoyed this mod a lot. I completed the Robotic Assimilation, read the notes and got the Mercy dress.  Somehow Ivy's follower status has changed for me. I no longer get dialogue options. I get a command menu only, and if I click "talk," I get nothing. Have I changed her follower mode by doing something?

It looks like she's stuck in some quest (maybe AAF anims?) something like that. Try selecting her in the console, type 'disable', then close the console, then re-open the console and type 'enable'.

 

I've added an autofix holotape to 6.0 that will help users solve these issues automatically for Ivy.

To anyone for whom this may matter, hello, I'm new here, I wasn't following the drama, so I don't know what is it all about, I just enjoy good mods with depth that makes it feel like a whole new game.

 

I installed Ivy just recently and I like her a lot. Now, I know that saying AFT + Ivy is kinda frowned upon, but AFT is just another one of those mods that enhance the game with new features, it has many advantages over other multiple companion mods (for those who prefer that kind of gameplay) and for that reason I couldn't really go without AFT, but at the same time I couldn't resist to try Ivy as well and while I'm fully aware it may not function as intended together with AFT mod, I'm having a lot of fun with her around.

 

As for her voice, while at first I thought her AI voice will be a little bit disturbing, to my surprise I got used to her robotic voice pretty quickly. Sure, it may not sound too natural, but it's one of the best AI voices I've heard and the author clearly spent a VERY LONG time making it possible. Thumbs up for your dedication! Her voice fits her character pretty well, after all she is partially a robot, so if her voice sounds a little bit robotic, it actually makes her special compared to assaultrons or synths, because synths were made to look and sound like humans, assaultrons have more natural sounding voice, but they have robotic body, so Ivy perfectly fills the gap there by creating a whole new category. I know that it is planned for her voice to become more natural, but personally I like even her current robotic voice and since the author already spent so much time and energy to give her this current voice, perhaps there could be eventually two versions available - one with natural voice, one with the current AI voice and people could pick one they like better? Just an idea.

I tried the disable/enable, and that did not do it. The first time I did it, I did not close the console, and when it did not work, I closed the console the second time before the enable.  Still stuck in something maybe...

If you have the magazine addon installed for Ivy, open the (settings) holotape for the magazine and try the option 'reset all scenes'.

I installed it but have never done anything with it especially. I do find random porno mags that Ivy comments on. I tried the reset, but that did not change anything either.

I'll admit, when I first saw/tried the change-over from Chic Geek's voice, I wasn't totally convinced. But after several playthrough's, I've actually come to seriously enjoy her semi-monotone comments, particularly when she's giving Sturgis or Preston crap, or chasing Marcy all around Sanctuary. I have no doubt that KittenVox will do an amazing job with Ivy 6, but I also know I'm probably going to miss her current voice a bit.

 

And yes, dropping AFT may hurt for a bit (I felt the same way at first) , but honestly, it's worth it for what you gain in Ivy's interactions. Maybe try running BetterCompanions in conjunction with Reginald's own multi-follower mod as a trial. It should give you the majority of functionality with AFT, but not interfere with Ivy.

One of your other mods, or a quest, or an NPC somewhere, is using Ivy in a quest. Try backtracking to the point where it started (I mean literally walking to the place in game where she stopped responding) and see if it sorts out.

 

Otherwise I'm not sure what to say, best to load up a save before she was hijacked by that quest. ?

Exactly my thought, her current voice may sound little bit monotonous, but it's nothing we couldn't really get used to and we may even miss it when the natural voice is available. All depends on which one would you like better for sake of roleplaying, which is why I had that idea that perhaps the author could let us have two alternative versions - one with the current voice, the other with the natural voice. I think that would be pretty cool.

 

As for the companion mods, I have to admit that 4 main feature I've been using AFT for are: 1) multiple companions / followers, 2) followers loot for you (can also pick the lock if needed), 3) companions can set up camp, 4) you can actually turn anyone friendly to your companion / follower and even settler. I know this is a little bit overkill, but it's actually pretty fun set of features for roleplaying - have you ever turned Ack-Ack into your follower / settler? You should try it. ? But yeah, then we have this lovely Ivy and a very hard decision to make - either all of the aforementioned features or Ivy. Naturally I'm stubborn and just want to believe we can somehow magically get both. ?

I went back to a save before Robotic Assimilation. At least I know how to get all the journals. All is good again. Tthanks...

Cant run AFT with Ivy. Period. it will screw with her AI

Better Companion also messes with her.

Now you do you and play your. However. Issue reports will be stopped at "AFT/BC"

I understand, in reality I care only about the features, not which mod provides them, so I guess what I was trying to say is that AFT is probably the only one mod that I know has these features and it is very unfortunate if it isn't compatible with some lovely companions we get through some other mods such as Ivy. I just wish there was a way around it, I'm still looking to find a better, more compatible way.
