Happy Halloween guys! Sorry for the repeated question, but does Ivy have a preference for Nuka-World's resolution? I'm planning to side with the raider gangs, and I'm wondering if there'd be any conflict. Thanks in advance!

Lorewise Ivy is basically a 'good guy' but she will not stop you and it will not affect the story. You can choose any faction to join with Ivy, even the BOS (as long as you're honest about it upfront).

Hi,@Reginald_001!

I'm just writing to express my thanks for creating a nuanced and unique companion.

You know how sometimes you can be captivated by someone, speaking about something you ordinarily find dull, simply by their sincere enthusiasm for a subject? In university, I loved listening to certain lecturers, regardless of the topic, because the professor was still so palpably overjoyed by a subject, even after teaching it for years. I've always found that type of passion very charming. and somehow heartening. That's how I felt while rushing to Ivy with some retro porn mag (using actual vintage material was a really nice touch) that I found in a dumpster. Listening to her speak about photography styles/trends, prevailing social mores etc. projected a really sophisticated breadth of knowledge. The mechanic reminded me of those lectures, and really won me over.

I remember reading you say (in this thread, maybe?) that this mod makes *you* Ivy's sidekick - she's the protagonist. I agree with you. Recently, I started a new playthrough without Ivy, just because I wanted to be the main character this go-around. Also: The voice actor is so so exceptional - really award-winning calibre. It's hard to imagine a voice actor being so instrumental to bringing a character to life. The writing and character development (top notch - bravo) really hit that much harder because of her performance.

Lastly, seeing a significant chapter entitled "End Sinister," made me do a fist pump. Ivy would make poor Paduk and his regime quake with fear. It looks like we have a passion in common - it's nice to see out in the wild. I'd be curious to know if the niche allusion was caught by any other players.

Anyhow, thanks for the experience. Writing a character with such depth is a great accomplishment :)

She does seem to rather enjoy my killing of the Atom Cats entirely by accidentally on purpose

There's a reason in Ivy's lore or backstory for that, she has cause to hate the Atom Cats.  I think it was revealed in the "Into the Deep" quest.

Das hat in Ivys Hintergrundgeschichte einen Grund; sie hat allen Grund, die Atom Cats zu hassen. Ich glaube, das wurde in der Quest „Into the Deep“ enthüllt.

I'm just saying -> Power Armor

So small question about Ivy.
She uses the same system as vanilla companions for sex where you sleep on any bed while you have her as a companion?
There is no dialog based system which you specifically ask or fade to black scene with sounds like Hookers of the commonwealth or immersive lovers embraced?

You can use the talk dirty dialogue option but you have to use it several times to get her worked up.

Hi, I'm playing with Ivy and Gas Mask of the Wasteland mod. I've noticed that whenever I'm near her, drops of blood always appear on my screen. Apparently, Ivy has a permanent bleeding effect. I don't have any mods that change npc injury system.
I tried equipping an autoclean ring on her, but it didn't help. Do you have any tips?
Is there a command that will remove bleeding effect from companions?

Ivy's blood effect is unique and it's just a magic effect that's always temporary. Also it doesn't cause bleeding but adds a blood decal on her for 20 seconds, or much shorter when she has the ring on. I doubt any other mod could mess with it or overwrite it. So my guess is that the bleeding effect doesn't come from that, but another mod. I'm thinking maybe some combat overhaul mod, etc.. but I have no idea about your mod load out.

Deborah has far too much control of IVY and is growing stronger as provoking an NPC proves that. My suspicion that in NW Stein after the knock-back, hypnotised Ivy and opened a gate in her mind for Deborah to increase her control and powers, seems to be justified.

I think you attribute far too much 'humanity' to what is ultimately just a program with scripted dialogue and idle lines that play at random as well as when triggered by specific dialogue lines from the PC. You will never 'understand' Ivy better than the mod author that created her programming and wrote all of her dialogue.

I'm thinking that you really need to take a very long break from playing video games and get your head on straight and come back to reality.

That's why the mod author is ignoring this user—who is becoming increasingly brazen in trying to control the discussion about Ivy's nature.

Yes, it's pure arrogance for a mod user to try and tell the author what's supposedly really behind their creation!

This has been going on for many months now—I've also put this user on "ignore"... because the audacity with which they try to force a "debate" on me is truly beyond belief... especially when the other person doesn't address any of my arguments and only focuses on their own ranting.

I've also given up suggesting that this person seek medical help for their mental state.

Yes. There's a Far Harbor add-on in the works that has already been written and coded; it's basically just waiting for the voice recording and final testing. Future plans recently mentioned on the Discord include an Automatron/Vault 88 add-on as well as an Ivy 7.0 upgrade which has been described as mostly under the hood stuff.

Oh mah gawd, seriously? That's super exciting!

A trailer will be released very soon, announcing the release date.

Voicing is almost finished now. :)

Hello. I encountered a well-known issue with the "Institutionalized" quest and Shaun's silence. The thing is, when I entered the Institute, Ivy was dismissed and sitting at home. I had another companion. I had to load an older save, dismiss your current companion, recruit Ivy again, enter the Institute, and teleport her to my place. Only then Shaun started talking and the quest continued.
Is it normal behavior if Ivy needs to be teleported to Institute even if she is not recruited? I am using version 6.1.

No seems like a weird bug. Really shouldn't happen, but if you fixed it now it should be fine.

Hello, I am running a diamond city mod that I haven't used before (until this there were no issues).

Diamond City - Polished Diamond at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

There's an issue when Ivy tries to talk to Takashi. She starts walking away, somewhere to the north away from the city. I can trigger diaogue with her (takashi's) if I use "moveto player" when I stand next to him, and click "Follow" (normally it makes her follow, and changes to stay, but here it does not change). She finishes dialogue and still walks away, slowly.

The only way to fix it is to find a combat and get her in it.

I assume this is what happens when she tries to walk up to Takashi, but something with Navmesh is different.

Is there any way I can "fix" it with xEDIT (i.e. remove her hardcoded "walk to" that breaks the follow mechanic) by chance? I am trying to build a "worry-free modlist" and I want both Ivy and Polished Diamond to be with it, without hacks with console.

 I would appreciate any advice.

This is unfortunately a known issue. (The Takahashi issue) and has nothing to do with your addons or modlist.

I can't easily be fixed but working on it.

I just recently had this happen, but the issue resolved itself fairly quickly.  I had tried teleporting her back to me and that didn't help.  I think the only thing I might have done (don't remember now) was go through a load screen, either by entering Home Plate or leaving Diamond City.

EDIT TO ADD:  It doesn't seem to have done any damage to my save at all.  She still follows me, makes quest aware comments and small talk, and behaves normally now as far as I can tell.  On repeat trips back to DC I had no issues.

Yeah it's just the one scene. It's a weird bug, because the 'bar' scene for comps is generic. And it works for all other bars. It's just this specific scene that breaks down in Diamond City.

Hi! I have the same problem with the Institute quest - Shaun's silence.

Ivy's teleportation to me doesn't work, neither through Holodisk, nor through the console. After trying this her marker shows that she is located at the Greentek Genetics (and when I teleported myself to her with console, I really got exactly there).

Ok. It seems I found a solution (BTW it works for me). First, I set "close range" at her holodisk's settings before my teleportation. Second, when I got to the institute, I took out a gun and try to teleport her again. Success! After the first lift I repeated the focus with weapon and teleport again. And after another one. And Shaun finally spoked.

Honestly, her lines were worth it.

Thanks for the wonderful mod!

A fix is in the works, will likely drop after the Far Harbor addon has been released. ;)
