@varenne, do you happen to have any lovers plugins that are designed to fight agsinst rapists (they're along the lines or stopkillraper or something like that)? Try disabling them. If you don't have them and guards still attack then I believe that there is a setting in the lovers settings spell to make it so that nobody will attack the rapists (make sure combat is disabled during rape and such). If all else fails, just go into console and kill the jailors and then resurect them after the truecrime sequence.

 

This should help solve the guards attacking the rapist problem.

 

I currently do not have oblivion installed and am going by memory. I hope this still helps.

Any chance of a new link? The last one says it was deleted for copyright violations and the one before wants a login and password.

 

I had this working properly, but I just had to nuke and re-install and the only version I can find on my HD is only partly translated. I can get as far as the kidnap quest just fine, but after that it's in Cyrillic (or so I assume).

Question: How do I go about installing the mod? I downloaded the 5 parts from the gamesource thread but I have no idea how to extract them or anything like that. They're in 7zip format and while I have 7zip installed I am unsure how to open them or how to proceed. Could someone please help me?

Generally with 7zip stuff you just right click on the first file and choose 7z and which extract option you want and it will extract all of the parts for you.

Okay..I've spent a good 2 hours with the first contract and I successfully completed it. I've spent another good 13 hours with the second contract and still not be able to complete it. HELP~~~~

I can't get out of the room with a demon and a giant red floating ball in it....Yes I have the ether blade and necklace equipped on me. I strike her more than 100 times over, hell I even knocked her unconscious, but still can't get out. What's the trick?

tried to do the chastity thief quest and its bugged for me

 

 

I get to the stage where you follow the woman back from the inn and the chastity thief is suppose to follower her.Then you take his recording device and you complete that stage of the quest.

Unfortunately he does not follow her from the inn and when I go back to her place I cant leave until I get the recording device, which doesn't seem to be anywhere.

 

I tried showQuestTargets in the console to get the quest id to see if I could just finish the quest by typing SetStage questid 100

However the quest Id I tried ( i thing it was the quest id ) just doesn't work- I get a message invalid quest id when I try it. Does anyone know the quest id for chastity thief and how to force the quest to be completed so that I can start the next one?

I need some help to get the Ether Blade. I got into the First Chapel and that switch puzzle is as confusing as hell. I got the Old Note thing from a dead skeleton but it makes no sense to me at all. There are too many switches to hit randomly for spending more than three minutes on the puzzle to be worthwhile. Too many variables and that kind of thing. Unlike similar puzzles in the vanilla game, particularly when you have to walk on the correct floor tiles to open a door or whatever, there are no audio cues to tell me when I am doing the right thing or not.

I don't have time to draw up a walk through, and it is not fresh in my mind, but this will get you through it,

 

 

 

  What happens if you get the puzzle right is it moves the stone that has the Creptic writing on it, and behind it is another button that raises the shield that is covering the sword.

 

   Just console, tcl reach through that wall, and press the button..

 

  Also if you have bug problems I posted a version of Vorpals translated version in his thread, that should work very well for you( I fixed I believe all the script problems, and smoothed out some of the Quests Problems ), It also allow you to use the Hookers if you happen to be playing a Female character.

 

   I fixed so all Quests are finishable, even the sometimes not showing up Red ball at the second encounter with the invincible demon.

You have to follow her up to Hatin and get pretty close to trigger the conversation between them.  Once that happens you stand aside and let them leave.  Icecold's hints spell this out.  The recording device doesn't appear until she and Hatin start having sex in the bedroom.  They'll be screwing by the time you enter the house.

I got that right by complete accident.  See the post I linked to above.  It has the solution in the hints.txt.

 

 

 

I believe I started with the top light, set that on, then went down and clicked the bottom ones on starting with the one farthest from the door.  Dunno if that's repeatable.  I didn't even realize it was a puzzle.

Since we have an English translation now thanks to Galgat/Vorpal/Varenne (sorry if I've missed anybody), I am having a look at this mod to see if it would be possible to play it just for the bandit/ether quests. 

 

Basically, I would like to know how playable this mod would remain if I disabled/removed all the prostitution and prisoner parts of it ? Would I risk breaking anything beyond repair in the bandit/ether quests doing so ?

 

Any insight from people who've already played the mod would be appreciated.

Galgat's version was originally based on Vorpal's translation and I never played through it all as so much was changed, so I have to say I don't know.

 

The version I translated, which I have since removed due to one LL member constantly taking pot shots at my translation, I was able to remove both the prostitution (it was just males only so useless to me) and the prisoner parts as well as some other parts and play through the rest of the quests and features. My best guess is you could do the same with Galgat's, being careful what you delete or disable. Sometimes it's a matter of just using the comment character, ; in the quest stage to disable something. Other times it requires commenting out scripts or script sections. I recently did something very similar to this for Vampire Hunting, since some of the included quests were incomplete and caused major lockups.

 

I strongly suggest removing stuff gradually, testing it, making backups and then doing a bit more. Dark Bloodlines is a bear of a MOD to work through due to all of the inherent errors and issues. Up there with the Monstergirl MODs, but not for the same reasons.

 

Note that even though you can play through Galgat's version with MB/MB2 enabled (I forget which one is embedded in DB) there is still a possibility to CTD. I recommend disabling.

Wish your version was still available somewhere, as it surely would save me tons of work, but I understand if you don't want to bother anymore (or deleted it). I am fairly used to Engrish machine translations by now (from Japanese/RPGmaker or Russian/QSP mods), so I wouldn't mind that much the quality of the translation itself, if it remains *somewhat* intelligible.

 

Anyway, I have already started, cleaned the dirty entries, removed all the prostitutes, all the prisoners, races, hair, eyes that are no longer needed, will also remove DarkBloodlines's MB to keep LAPF's version.

 

Biggest parts ahead now are quests and dialog, as you said.
