I recently got Skyrim VR and I’ve been trying to get SexLab to work for the past two days. I’ve followed the steps in the original post about how to get it working and I’ve installed all the patches and hotfixes for SL VR. However, I’m still getting the same message when I launch the game. FYI I use Nexus Mod Manager. 
 

Whenever I launch it says “PapyrusUtil.dll could not be be loaded” along with saying the same for SexLab.dll. When I do load into the game, it says that SexLabs or my game is outdated. It also won’t let me press ‘install’ in the Mod Config menu in game. 
 

I’d really appreciate some help as I know nothing about modding and don’t know what to do outside of the tutorials.

That's overwrite problem, assuming you got correct papyrusutil for vr (it needs to overwrite one from sexlab and correct SL (beta 8) you messed up with order of installing mods. Pro Tip - delete NMM and never again rely on it.

This is just a guess, but judging by the error messages and the fact you are using NMM I'd say the DLLs didn't get properly replaced by the VR patched versions. Install SexLab first (be sure to grab 1.63b8), THEN install the patches (SL VRpatch Beta 8 38 PLUS the hotfix) and PapyrusUtil VR, VRIK, ... and make sure they overwrite the original files (SexLab comes with its own PapyrusUtil.dll for whatever reason, this one WILL NOT WORK with VR).

 

As a general rule of thumb- you can use most SSE mods for VR and they will work fine, everything that includes a .dll and/or impacts the interface or controls will probably need a VR version or patch (-> "xxxx.dll could not be be loaded").

You can check compatibility and find VR specific versions/patches here:

 

You might also want to consider switching from NMM to MO2 or Vortex for  a much cleaner and more controllable installation. It might take some time to set up and get used to in the beginning, but is well worth it later on and much easier if you do it for a brand new installation instead of midway through. I've learned this lesson the hard way.

Is there a mod manager that you suggest? I only care that if the mods work properly, not what I use to accomplish it.

I do use Vortex, I just assumed NMM was the same thing. I click the nexus mod manager download link and it opens up to Vortex and Vortex does its thing.

People like to say MO2 is better but it's actually for the most part just equivalent. if you have troubles adjusting to MO2 just switch back to Vortex, you won't be missing out on any features unless you are either planning to make your own mod or want to use a wabbajack list.

So what it sounds like is that I am having a mod load order issue. How do I change the load order on Vortex? And is it easier to do that on MO2 or no? 
 

 

Also, the exact load order would be nice to know as well, I can’t remember if that is listed in the post about the SL VR patch or not.

It is a huge mess, there was lots of testing and i frankly need to delete lots of it ( disk space) also some things are outdated - i'm starting to update/rebuilt my setup. But essentials are in correct order. Mind that is Mod order not plugin priority.

 

This is log from MO2, Never used Vortex, but i know MO2 has huge advantage at sorting stuff (what overwrites what or hiding files from higher priority mod to allow specific file from mod thats overwritten) but it is at cost of disk space, since MO2 makes separate mods folder and individuals folders for them.

At the moment, I have a lot of disk space, around 170GB, so I’m not too worried about that aspect, and I also probably won’t be using that many mods.

It is a huge mess, there was lots of testing and i frankly need to delete lots of it ( disk space) also some things are outdated - i'm starting to update/rebuilt my setup. But essentials are in correct order. Mind that is Mod order not plugin priority.

 

This is log from MO2, Never used Vortex, but i know MO2 has huge advantage at sorting stuff (what overwrites what or hiding files from higher priority mod to allow specific file from mod thats overwritten) but it is at cost of disk space, since MO2 makes separate mods folder and individuals folders for them.

 

Would you recommend a load order similar to this, where applicable? I don’t have all these mods.

Well m8 - It depends on 2 things: As for lewd mods for SL Framework do setup acording to your fetishes (creature framework and beastiality mods is fine example xD)

On graphical mods it depends on your rig. I have pretty powerfull GPU (3070ti) so my 3dRim looks preety amazing (thou it will never look as good as flatrim due 2 vr versions of SKSE, ENB and Reshade limitations). Rest? whatever you like, wanna some survival theme? why not. Whatever floats your boat.

 

Don't install Be Seated if you have Oculus Rift S.... as a matter of hand you should check 

 thou it is lil outdated, last edit is from end of january. Do some research.

It is a huge mess, there was lots of testing and i frankly need to delete lots of it ( disk space) also some things are outdated - i'm starting to update/rebuilt my setup. But essentials are in correct order. Mind that is Mod order not plugin priority.

 

This is log from MO2, Never used Vortex, but i know MO2 has huge advantage at sorting stuff (what overwrites what or hiding files from higher priority mod to allow specific file from mod thats overwritten) but it is at cost of disk space, since MO2 makes separate mods folder and individuals folders for them.

this is false. MO2 has NO advantage at sorting stuff. Vortex allows you to set per-mod and per-file options for what mod overwrites what, with an easy filter to show mods with file conflicts or mods with unsolved file conflicts. For sorting load order, you can either lock mods to specific indexes or create custom plugin groups, set their load order, and add the plugins to them.

So, I went ahead and got MO2. The load order was easier to change, at least visually for me. I am still running into an issue where the game crashes immediately when I try to run it from MO2. It is probably something with the load order and I'm too dumb to figure it out. There is also an error for missing masters. I would really appreciate the help. Here is the load order.

Did you manage to get any further with the height issue? As far as I can see this did seem to stop the spinning issues with furnitures and also cause your PC to take the correct pose, but Im finding with the height moves you so far away from your NPCs (in some mods) that they don't continue with any dialogue.

My bad lmao. It was in there from vortex but I got rid of the mods managed by vortex and forgot to replace it xD

I also don't have FNIS installed. When I try to do it through MO2, this opens up. I'm not sure how to move forward with it.

Nvm on this, I just googled how to fix it. However, I get this notification that Papyrus and SexLab framework are incompatible. Skyrim VR still immediately crashes when I try to run it.
