Now with this fix I can get it to work in VR ?

Kalysto Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 You probably have a mod that comes with a SSE version of PapyrusUtil.dll, just make sure that PapyrusUtil VR is last (not being overwritten by anything).

Everything seems to be functional, not getting any error messages and all the correct MCM menu's seem to be appearing ingame. Only issue is, despite my best efforts none of the animations are showing up in game, neither within the sexlab MCM, or the MCM for SLAL. I have FNIS installed and run (Sevral times) and have all VR specific variants where I could find one. Anyone got any idea where I might've fucked up to cause this? 1

JemyM Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) I finally solved my issues with gestures not working (Oculus Quest 2). It have taken me several days up to a week, trying half an hour to an hour until giving up in frustration. I really needed a solid step-by-step guide that would be super-detailed "explain it to me like I was five" guide, so I figured I could write one for anyone else. Part of the issue is that I did not know what a gesture was when I started (like, I knew the word, but not that it technically referred to the mod VRIK and it's Mod Manager page), also I didn't knew that "index" was a specific VR headset (called Valve Index) and not a generic term that I first thought and since I did not have one I could ignore "Index" instructions. Also I think gestures was initially disabled and I believe you actually had to add a gesture for each hand in VRIK before they began to work. I figured this out gradually after I set up a cast candlelight with my left hand then suddenly found left hand gestures working while my right hand was still dead 0. When writing this you naturally need specifically "SexLab Framework SE v1.63 Beta 8" duh. 1. To control scenes you need to have installed the mod VRIK. You probably have it already. Better do a reinstallation in your mod-manager of it just to be sure if you are having issues. 2. I also got the OPTIONAL FILE called "VRIK Rift-Index-WMR Controller Bindings V2.1.0". 3. Now I needed to learn how gestures actually work. I had never done them before so I didn't knew what I was supposed to do. In the game under Mod Management in the menu, you should be able to find a page for VRIK. The first thing you want to find and enable is "haptic feedback" as it will help you to tell when you are doing things right by vibrating the controller. 4. Now find the page in which you can set up which button to use. It have two optional buttons for left hand and two for right hand, where the first button is probably set to thumbstick by default. During my error testing I enabled a second button for each hand, exited the menu to save, disabled the second buttons again, exited, disabled the thumbsticks on both hands, exited, and finally enabled the thumbsticks again, exited. I did this to ensure that if there was any outdated settings/inifile issue it would now be updated to what it should be. 5. Now I set up at least one gesture per hand in the MCM for VRIK. I did a cast candlelight with left hand (left thumbstick+up) and an equip fireball with right hand (right thumbstick+(down and up)). Then I practiced until I got the hang of it. Note that this seems to be the step that solved my issues. 6. Now I moved over to the SexLab page in Mod Manager. The documentation there is actually valid and exactly what its told. For instance, look under the Right Hand Controller and you might find "RL" there. What that means is that you should hold down the right thumbstick, them move your right hand a short distance right, then a short distance to the left. If the controller buzzes (haptic feedback) you did right. 7. One thing that was counter intuitive for me at first (and threw me off) was that once you have entered a reposition mode (stage, all, schlong) you have to end the repositioning before you can do anything else by tapping (quick press) of the left thumbstick. 8. Also I confused "Align Actors All" with "Move Scene Location". If the scene plays in the wrong spot (like in a wall), use the Move Scene Location function. I thought I could reposition both actors with "all", but "all" means you adjust your selected actor in all stages of the animation which will probably fuck up stages you can't see yet. 9. Finally, and this also caused me a headache, gestures for simulated key presses in VRIK will not work if Skyrim VR isn't the active window in Windows... duh. Edited February 20, 2022 by JemyM 3

But perhaps someone managed to solve it with some configuration or by not using VRIK? 1

The author of the SexLab VR patch can step in, but unfortunately as far as I know, the limitation has something to do with how VRIK/Skyrim VR loads a model into the "first person view" and SexLab's way of loading assets for these scenes involving the player. @reikiri has tried everything as far as they've explained, and can't figure out where the issue lies. The only conclusion is it's a limitation that is something missing from Skyrim VR or VRIK, and out of the boundaries of @reikiri's capable hands. Ultimately, I stopped attempting to use Skyrim VR with SexLab for this reason. It was just too much missing for me to be interested in trying to play with the game. It seems to me that scenes involving the player with an npc only show items when they are related to the npc. I have seen this for example with the lesbian pose that uses the double dildo. If I reverse the order of the actors (npc - player / player - npc), one time I see the dildo, another time not. I had fun doing this for a few object poses and it seemed to hold true every time in my memory. Another example, the ovipositor animations of the creatures do show the eggs/larvae/etc (I'm thinking of Bado's poses in particular), and so it seems that the objects, when linked to the npc that is partnered with the player are displayed. So, is it possible to transfer the objects (table, device, etc.) to the npc partner instead of the player? I think this could be a way to explore. But on the other hand, it implies that all animations are changed. Not sure if the authors want to work on this for a minority of people, and not if it is easy to do (if it is possible) 2

Looks like there is really no solution to this and it is not solely my stupidity. I am actually quite impressed by this 10 year old game and started playing it in VR, while it never caught me on flatscreen. Only this thing is really an immersion breaker.

Wait a few minutes and try the sex again, it should work. This is an issue with the regular SSE version as well, not just VR. im still getting teleported to bleakwind basin do i just hit clean under clean and rebuild or is there another button i need to do to do the rebuild part

Pay heed to this warning people, it will save you and the devs a lot of time and trouble. I recently got my system running again and it was running fine, until I updated to the current SL 1.63. It screwed up FNIS, and sl creatures clashes with FNIS creatures. I also noticed the thing about VRIK not working. I was going to try and stick with it in order to build a WJ, but the vrik integration is a deal-breaker for VR. I'll try to poke around to see if I can find a workaround, but you don't already have the "beta 8" version, then you out of luck. Sorry, just to clarify, you're saying Beta 8 is no longer available? Luckily I have a back-up, but I checked SexLab SE page and the first comment on the page has all the old versions archived.

I'm still looking into it, but my understanding is that the 1.63 one is supposed to be good. The jury is still out on my end and I'm still trying to get it to work properly.

I am also looking for an answer to this question. In this reply, the author mentioned 3 options that affect height scaling, I turned off all 3 options, and it still doesn't work. (CTD repair option can only be disabled, not enabled) Please let me know if you find an answer, thanks!

I have a harness that holds a fleshlight in place right in front of my penis. With the PLANK mod by Flyring Particle, I grab and hold my sexlab partner and simulate the sex experience. It is extremely immersive and a pretty good workout... Some of the positions are just too difficult to hold IRL so I typically stick to the more traditional sex positions... ?
