I'm no expert here, but I'd try uninstalling the mod and running a save cleaner before reinstalling it.

First levels ticks could increase it at steady, then after it is +50 it should slow down to prevent superfast 100 arousal. I also bet it would be more immersive to have max exposure set to 60-70, leaving rest of the gap to timerate if happens. It is easier said than done, though I contribute one idea and is better than nothing. Hope you gain an insight from this post

First off my character doesnt seem to lose arousal whenever the animation ends. When i first upgraded to SLAX with The lastest patch SLAX Edits 7, it was all fine. my character and Follower would get aroused and continue to update. The Options all seemed to work fine, i kept playing and before i knew it my character would not lose arousal. She would actually gain arousal if i just skipped through the animation quickly. i tried to just let the animation play out seeing as arousal should decrease by the length of animations duration. It still didnt decreased. Sometimes it wouldnt increase or decrease, it just stayed the same. My npc follower would lose his arousal so it seemed fine on that part. Can this issue be associated with my mods installed or is this a known problem?

This basically means any character with X days since last orgasm will have X as a multiplier to any other modifier from the get-go, rather than from when the character first has their Arousal / Exposure updated. Try having the NPC orgasm and see if this changes things.

Hex Bolt Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I was experimenting with decreasing the Cell Scan Frequency for faster arousal updates. At the default 120 seconds (not SLAX's fault, inherited from SLA(R)), a naked PC could be in an area for well over a minute and depart without raising arousal at all. So I lowered the scan time by a factor of 4 (120 -> 30) and also lowered the Default Exposure Rate by a factor of 4 (2.0 -> 0.5) to maintain the same overall rate of arousal but updated 4 times as often. That worked well except for the special handling for certain voice types. The slaArousedVoiceList treats FemaleYoungEager, FemaleSultry, MaleYoungEager, and MaleDrunk as lusty types that gain arousal faster than others. Despite the problem this caused for me, and the in-code comment (presumably from @Lupine00) that this was a bad thing, I rather like this feature. Please don't remove it, just fix it please with a simple change (boring details below). I've already made and tested the change in my game (using Tenri's updates so that the PC actually affects NPC arousal), so this is merely a suggestion. Spoiler In the GetActorExposureRate function in slaframeworkscr, the code adds or subtracts a fixed value depending on voice type. Addition is bad; multiplication is good, because it scales. I made this change, which results in exactly the same behavior with the default exposure rate of 2, but this way it scales nicely if the player changes that value. If (slaArousedVoiceList.Find(actorVoice) >= 0) exposureRate = slaConfig.DefaultExposureRate * 1.5 ; was + 1.0 ElseIf (slaUnArousedVoiceList.Find(actorVoice) >= 0) exposureRate = slaConfig.DefaultExposureRate * 0.5; was - 1.0 Since the voice check is only done once per NPC (the resulting exposure rate is stored away), it doesn't seem that bad. Unrecognized voice types simply get default behavior. I'd argue for leaving that in. The voice list is easy to edit in the esp. It's a nice feature. It just needs this tweak to work better. The ability to purge existing saved data would also be very helpful. Caching values is great -- until the player starts changing the MCM settings and then inconsistent behavior results. Just suggestions for minor enhancements when you find time to work on SLAX. 1

It's already something from the distant past, so I'd need to revisit the broader context of the code to see why I suggested this mechanic is silly. That said, FemaleYoungEager is used so frequently, due to it being one of a very few complete voices suitable for a follower, that "magic" happening to it, which was never documented for end-users, and never configurable by them, was a particularly good feature, in that context of it being secret unconfigurable magic. I guess if I was messing with this the correct thing is to give the user some control over it, rather than wiring in eccentric behavior for hardcoded voice types. At least exposing the magic numbers 1.5 and 0.5 from your fix would help there. I suspect the original +/- 1.0 came from baked in assumptions about integers being mandated for exposureRate, and in that context scaling wouldn't have worked. I'll put this in my BUG list. Spoiler My main problem, and what I originally intended to fix in a complicated way, but now intend to fix more directly so we can get the benefits sooner, is that arousal overall is very unresponsive. Actual arousal comes and goes quite rapidly, as fast as a human mood changes. Now I'm not saying we should simulate that in some realistic way, but the treacle-slow undercurrent that arousal currently provides is unhelpful for most situations where arousal matters to gameplay. If we want the PC to be able to effectively excite a brothel full of NPCs with some erotic act, they shouldn't have to sit there for about six hours while the PC dances for two hours straight to get slightly interested. If we want a sex-addicted PC to be horny at all the right times, and a chaste PC to not be horny at all, or at least, not for so long that they can't easily overcome it, then the existing mechanic isn't doing its job. Hence the proposal I made some time ago (years?) to use a fatigue system instead. The subtle delta modifications to arousal aren't necessary or effective. On a Skyrim scale, arousal changes could just as well be instant, and it would work as well, or better. Most games use accelerated time, either the default 20 to 1, or something a bit slower (I use 10 to 1 personally, because 20 to 1 means a couple of chats with NPCs and your day is gone). A rare few players use 1 to 1 time; it doesn't feel right because you can cross the land of Skyrim in a game hour that way. I guess 20 to 1 was supposed to make travel times more convincing, but I personally find that 20 to 1 default a bit too much "tempus fugit". The idea of arousal ramping up and down over a period of DAYS is even stranger. What were the original implementors thinking with that one? The curve looks lovely as a representation of ... something ... but not anything we really needed in a Skyrim game. It's more mathematical masturbation than useful gameplay. The configuration of it has always been opaque to users, who struggle to make sense of non-standard decay periods. If we consider "time rate" to be some kind of sex-addiction measure (which most interested mods do) then it should make arousal easier, and more extreme when it happens, but the PC (or NPC) shouldn't be aroused all the time because of it - that should only happen if there are special mechanics in play (such as plugs). So, if we imagine time-rate (TR) is directly equivalent to sex-addiction, and imposes a sort of soft-cap on arousal, an actor can't get more worked up than their TR, unless something really special happens. When a regular arousal (exposure) event occurs, we can simply set arousal to MAX(TR, currentArousal) + exposureAmount. We could then have a hard cap at TR+50. For super-nuns with a TR of 0, this caps maximum arousal at 50, which is still enough to get over the 20 threshold of a lot of mechanics, but not enough to get them hiring prostitutes to sate their lust. For a regular person, TR of 20 or so would probably be normal, giving a hard cap of 70. The player knows that if they set arousal limits at 60 or so, they'll get sensible results from a lot of mechanics. Male actor randy enough to become a rapist? We should be looking for a value over 70, maybe over 75, because contrary to the old saying, not all men are rapists. Male actor randy enough to agree to have sex with a prostitute? A value over 60 should be fine. So, when the PC is walking around with a TR of over 50, we know we're dealing with a real sex addict. Let's say we set the arousal threshold for DCL to 80, the PC needs a mildly abnormal TR to even get up there, which is fair enough, maybe? If you think otherwise, you could set it at 20 instead ... or whatever you like ... The point is that it's really easy to figure out what happens when you set a threshold, and it's easy to see that having a TR over 20 opens you up to trouble, and a TR over 50 represents an unusual sort of person. A person with a TR over 50 is triggering events while still within their soft-cap! The question then, is how is arousal lost? Probably, if it's been more than an hour since the last exposure, the actor is back to their baseline. This could be as simple as TR/4.0, so the baseline for normal people is simply 5, and it goes up from there. The baseline for super-sex addict is thus 25, but remember that in that case, if they get an exposure event, BAM, they're up at 100 instantly. If we overlay a fatigue mechanic on this crude system, we can account for an actor not being able to have sex forever without getting tired out. The strength is that it's easy to explain, and easy for the player to configure. They aren't setting an arousal of 80 for devices and thinking "that's really high" then finding that their arousal is pinned at 99 all the time after just 20 orgasms. How then would an actor gain, or lose TR? The existing orgasm addition and a simple time decay would work fine for this. As long as we turn the amount added per orgasm down A LOT. Mods that let you dump time-rate (sexlab shrines) would then be more useful and effective. It's just one proposal. Maybe the values proposed aren't right, but it doesn't need to be much more complicated than this. For actors getting constant exposure events (such as from plugs) then wouldn't get arousal reset to baseline, and would quickly bump into their hardcap. It lacks a fancy simulation that would let someone in that (plugged) situation start to push their TR up, it would still take orgasms to do that in this simple case. That could probably be hacked with some simple rule, such as adding 1.0/24.0 to TR every time they get an exposure event that falls within a limit since last exposure. Let the player also set that value themselves, and they can control addiction gain rate both from "training" and from actual sex. My original plan was to scale all exposure events according to the actor's personal fetishes and revulsions, and that could still be added down the track. The planned mechanics for accumulating addicting events and resolving them against a kind of integrity score that lets the actor resist addiction up to a point, after which they're overwhelmed, is another matter. I'd like to have that, still, but not sure if I'll get to it.

My suggested change is just the minimum to correct a problem without breaking existing behavior, suitable for a first pass on cleaning up things. I like your thoughts on treating time rate as sex addiction and using it to set a cap. I think though that physical stimulation such as from plugs should be able to exceed the individual's arousal cap. I agree that arousal should be more responsive to stimulus, especially on first exposure. One concept I've seen is to make the arousal non linear, rising quickly at first. When a man first sees a naked female he gets a sizable increase to arousal, rising more slowly the longer he sees her. I'm looking forward to the implementation of the clothed arousal system. I'm hoping to use that to create a low level of arousal wherever my character goes, as a form of peril (staying too long in one place eventually triggers rape levels of arousal, but not right away). I'm achieving that now by setting the PC's clothing to "naked", and the current slow arousal gain calculation actually works well for what I want there. Unfortunately this "hack" can't respond differently to true nakedness. It might be worth considering a new separate feature for constant low level arousal exposure to decouple it from nakedness, which as noted earlier should raise arousal pretty quickly. Assuming there's enough interest in the feature, it would allow NPCs to notice that the PC is attractive and slowly gain arousal, gradually reaching the minimum arousal for mods like SL Approach, and eventually leading to naughty rapey thoughts. I find that much more interesting than entering an area and the arousal levels are fixed unless the PC undresses or otherwise flaunts herself.

If there were a PCRaper faction with several ranks, that could track how many times (up to a reasonable rank limit, such as 5) that actor assaulted the PC. Mods that wish to take that into account could check whether an actor has raped the PC before and how many times, to influence how likely that actor is to do so again. Various mods already look at actor arousal, confidence, and other factors. Someone who has successfully raped the PC before is probably emboldened to do again, and those mods could account for that if they wish. 1
