Is there any chance that FOLON just doesn't work with Hardship? I ask because I've installed it perfectly, AAF works fine with all the other AAF mods I have installed without a hitch, and even the initial 'what job can I do that doesn't involve getting my ass shot off' dialog line lead to a working scene the first time I used it, but any scene that involves the absolutely awesome and immersive text boxes just result in no AAF scene playing/hooking (but also no error that pops up) and after stripping I'm free to just move my character around until the scripts eventually finish running when the scene would end. Raider harassers, getting the handcuffs removed, etc. The only thing I can think of is it's somehow related to being installed on FOLON. Everything else works absolutely fine, so I'm stumped, and more than a little sad because this is absolutely the best 'hardship' mod we have - even just the beggar aspects are perfect on survival mode.

Hey, hoping someone might be able to help or shed some light on an issue I’m having.

 

I recently reinstalled Fallout 4 along with the relevant LL mods. Right now I’ve got the basics set up in MO2, utilities, bug fixes, core frameworks, and LL content.

 

I followed the AAF guide to a T, and everything was working perfectly in-game. The issue I’m running into now is that sometimes during an AAF scene, a BW NPC will say something like “I want to do it this now,” but when I respond, whether I agree or disagree, the scene doesn’t update to reflect the new action.

 

Any idea why this might be happening? Is it an AAF issue? Everything else seems to be working flawlessly, and I’ve reinstalled and configured everything as best I can. Would really appreciate any help or insight if anyone’s run into this before

Hardship or TSEX Hardship was never able to change the animation mid-scene, I believe you're supposed to imagine it.

They are older mods that dealt with Four-Play and/or earlier versions of AAF, and as such are no longer maintained, nor being developed.

Both versions the author(s) have allowed open access to people to take over the mods. Some people have actually written patches for them,

still no sign of the ability to change animations to suit the messageboxes.

 

The feature you're asking for would shake up Fallout 4 modding considerably.

@judge007 It’s strange, because not too long ago when I played TSEX, the animation would switch after the message box popped up, changing to whatever the new animation was supposed to be.

 

I can’t remember if Hardship behaved the same way the last time I played. But as far as I know, the animation should transition to whatever the NPC requested next. I just can’t seem to get it working now.

I've been using Hardship & TSEX Hardship for about a year now and not once has the animation been switched to match the messageboxes.

I'll admit I just assumed it didn't.

 

It might have something to with the way UAP & EAP modify the .XMLs. Or the newer version of AAF/4 Play .dll

 

Ping me if you manage to get it working, please.

The last time I played and it worked was before the next gen update (damn Bethesda for messing everything up).

 

Since that update I've always downgraded my game back to pre-update version. I also find and download the mods for that exact version. I've disabled every mod other then Utility essentials and AAF dependencies, so I'm all out of options rn.

I have incomprehensible problem with animation length - in menu I toggle to 120sec. But animation lasts about 30-40sec. Animation ends and then I should wait all dialogue boxes about cuming into mouth etc.  In this time animation should play or dialogue box pops out while both characters standing still without animation? If I did not wait while "client" walks away, he is following me while last dialogue box is not finished...For some reason I'm using NAF not AAF. Maybe someone knows where problem could be or everything is fine in my situation? 

 

And I wanted to ask about home parties - this additional dialogue will appear when? When Home plate will be settled up?

if not could there be a patch for that?  😉

 

I think it would be great and immersive to be one of two working girls controlled by one of the pimps.

 

(Even aside from companons; With all the caps we make, he or her should be able to invest into buying addtional girls from a slaver too, so evetually Isabel or BD would exploit a whole gaggle of girls? Food for though as an expansion idea...)

 

-It seems Isabel "does more" with the player than BD? or maybe that is just because I spent more time with her than BD, or did i miss out on anything?

EDIT: ok, I figured out top problem about animation length - for some reason it was caused by NAF, don't know why. I reinstalled NAF to AAF and now animations are in full length with dialogue boxes. And I reinstalled this mod to older version which is without black screen when dialogue boxes popping up, maybe it will solve black screen problem.

 

EDIT 2: Ok, black screen was caused by latest version of this mod. For some reason black screen from message pop-up stays on screen after scene. in my case after force (rape) sex

Hey, guys... I've been remiss checking my notices here... though it seems I've been pretty lucky as there haven't been many lately (And it's not like I'm much help anyway at this point). I'll try to do a better job of checking at least once a week. I really appreciate those who continue to step in and help others.

 

IN OTHER NEWS:

 

For those interested: After more than two years development my game is nearing completion. I hope to have it up somewhere for sale early next year (Assuming all us pornographers aren't sent to the gulags.)

 

I really think people who like Hardship and my other mods will like it as the writing and flavor of it is very similar. (Only a lot better as my writing has improved 500% and I am only limited by my (meager) artistic ability and not having to struggle against Bethesda game engines and unreliable mod requirements. With the crazy amount of branching I'm doing towards the end it really is giving me some unpleasant Hardship and NMS development flashbacks. If you think you don't like Visual Novels because they're too static or make you read mountains of text I FEEL THE SAME. But I REALLY like MY visual novel. My game is more lively with sound, music, and camera changes than most... and I only display two lines of text at any gven time. (Not counting choice menues of course)

I had some ideas like this at one point. I also think it'd be pretty hot. I also wanted to let the player become a pimp herself after showing an apprentice the ropes... but oh well. NMS definitely has more of that flavor with the Brothel stuff I added at the end of development (Though it's janky). Prostitution is a theme I continually return to so there is a good chance I might tackle some of these ideas in a future game. The game I am currently working on does have some prostitution in it though it's mostly about being trained as a slave:

-A workaround for the "2 girls" issue I found is this:

I take Piper as a companion and add an attractive preset to her. Then when I enter "into a contract" with Isabel or BD I rotate between her and me.

My own solicitaion I use the Hardship dialoghue and hers I use the SEU function where I can offer  a companion.

So we both alternate and both work for him or her.

IMHO it makes our Boss seem more powerful if he/she works 2 instead girls of just one.

 

-I am trying Mr Raymond next, though at first he seemed too good looking to me for the role . Thankfully he is unique coded so I was able to change his apperance.

 

- Notice me Senpai is a Skyrim mod and I have only playd FO4 as my only modern game

 

- I am pretty sure it was MXRs review that fascinated me since your mod seemed so utterly real and grounded of a situation. This is one of the most realistic quest paths of the female sole survivor after exiting the vault. Just trying to  find  a job to start an existence.  Since she has no relevant wasteland skills, other than her looks, Prositution is the obvious answer for that.

Unless she gets lucky and can snag a well off man.

I have the dialog and all, but no sound while in beggar dialog. Is there a fix to hear the voice? I am playing the german version of fallout 4 1.10.163

The dialogue for this mod is unvoiced (I think there may be AI patches for it though, I personally don't enjoy those nor endorse them.)

Hey. I wanted to clarify one thing about scenes/animations - so there is a dialogue going while scene/animation is played. And sometimes there is an option when I can choose like different pose (in dialogue box, for example, pc offering to get on top on customer). If I choosing this option, AAF SEU SceneIt 4 status displayed on top left corner...I mean, it's not bothering me, but is there should be pose change or not, if I'm choosing like another option in dialogue box...It's little bit understandable - one animation is going all time...Thank you for answering, I really like the mod!

You're the second person to comment on the sex scenes not changing to correspond to the messageboxes that come during the scene.

Maybe @Tentacus knows better, but I have never seen the animation be switched out mid-scene.

I always just assumed it was meant to be role-played.

After the last conversation about this, I did make an attempt to read through the source scripts to find out if it was possible.

 

Unfortunately my coding skills grew from DOS assembler, to Basic, and finally C. I find it difficult to translate Object Oriented scripting.

It did back but it's been years, so things have probably changed and it no longer works as intended.

It's not bothering me if it should be like this. Just a little bit weird when pc says "I'll get on the top/yes, cum in my mouth/etc" and there is one stage doggy animation goes around...But it's okay if animations should not change corresponding for the selected option in dialogue box

What logs?

It's not like an actual error happened.

So where exactly would it be logged?

Since the mod author(s) haven't kicked in their view of these non-events, I for one do not believe they ever occurred.

No evidence of their attempt to run is visible in the script code, and no errors are reported.

Hence my disbelief in the myth of swapping animations mid-scene.

 

So, once again, exactly which logs?

No. It used to change... just as Required said. It was really cool.

 

It's bullshit like this that made me quit modding honestly. You have too little control over changes that the framework and other requirements make that fuck you over. Making your own games is a lot more rewarding creatively. And that's already after fighting Bethesda's engine and the CK.

 

You know this problem could be easily solved if Dagoba allowed old versions of AAF to be hosted somewhere for old mod compatibility. I'm pretty sure that anim changes still (unreliably) worked with what I had installed last time I played which was probably like a four year old version :D though there were already big problems with the way my scenes ended because they added the orgasm system to AAF.

I think he means AAF's logs. Even when shit was working right it would constantly barf out errors just for shits and giggles. Don't ask me where to look at it though. ALL of my Fallout 4 modding knowledge has been overwritten (And most of my Skyrim SE knowledge as well at this point)

How old AAF version must be? I remember V171, if my mind don't trick me...
