Can't say for sure this time since it sounds like the main script loaded if you got the message, but it could be this: 15. Real Handcuffs 0.4.7 or above -- This is a true Master of Hardship and RealHandcuffs.esp must be above Beggar_Whore.esp in the plugin load order! NOTE: Read the instructions carefully. If you don't you might end up with an AAF conflict. If MCM settings are working otherwise then the above doesn't apply and you can add the menu item with the MCM. It's literally the 2nd item. MrPayne Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Love the mod. Thank you for your hard work. Just to throw it out there, is it even possible to have a "Can I join?" option? Meaning, during an active scene another NPC will prompt to join in and they can keep joining as long as the animations allow it. At this point, with current animations available, it would be up to 4 NPCs total, unless there are animations that allow more.

I'll be posting information about development plans for this mod soon. 1
Tentacus Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 UPDATE: As some of you probably got the vibe, I am starting to wind down my interest in Fallout 4 modding. Partly this is burnout. Partly RL stuff, Partly an interest in using the time I devote to it to more tangible things. The biggest issue is I am just not capable of delivering everything I hoped to, to my standard, in a timeframe that I am willing to devote. That said I am not just dropping this mod like a rock and leaving. I offered the project to @requiredname65 who has been a major contributor to the mod over the last year and change, who has made a lot of the rough edges go away. (such as finally making the eyeball burn end). The primary goal is to get the existing work we have done on TSEX and Hardship 1.6 into a state that can be released before the heat death of the universe. In addition, he's got some improvements and ideas in store. I will stick around at least for a while to help with writing and finishing "some" of the planned features at least. For now don't bug requiredname65 with a bunch of questions and shit. He's gracefully taken on a lot to clean up my mess. I'm sorry I didn't have the gas to deliver everything I promised. You guys are great and I really appreciate your... appreciation, and hope we can deliver something satisfactory in the end. This announcement has no bearing on my contributions to Nuka Ride which JB will release when he's ready. 15
Nuka Cherry Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Thanks for the immense amount of work it has taken to deliver your mods. Take it easy, and thanks for handing it on, I am a strong believer that Cathedral modding is better for mental health! 5
Darkwolf101 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 ofc I'm sad to see you go but honestly you've delivered fallout 4 one of it's best adult mods imo! I look forward to seeing 1.6 come round and hope you find something else that peaks your interest. 1

The big problem is that Hardship has a unique approach to role-playing for everyone. It even offers you an experience for both genders. I really don't know of another author who can do the same as Tentacus when it comes to role-playing. Believe me I've tried to emulate that in my mod, but in the end I prefer to do something more linear because for me that is more enjoyable. If I start doing something for everyone and everyone, I feel like I'm going to burn out. I will release "Nuka Ride 2.5 Tentacus Edition" soon as a standalone version, because I cannot emulate his style. I can't just inject my new (linear) quests into a mod that offers you role-playing. It would be like that well drawn horse meme but it ends up being a poor doodle in the end.? There are people with the skills and technical knowledge but the big problem is creative ability.Hardhip is a very heavy torch that requiredname is going to carry lol. That said, I also thank you here Tentacus because your mod inspired me to start creating my content. I literally wouldn't be working on my own mod if it weren't for your mod. I don't think there can be a greater show of appreciation than that, buddy. Edited November 10, 2021 by JB. 4

Sometimes a very simple problem can stump me because after working on the same thing on many different engines over and over and over...I simply get burned out. Kind of like "walk the earth like Kane" burned out. When I am able to step away...get some rest I usually can rebound. Ill tell you here lately though the load is getting heavy. I feel your pain completely. That being said, dont feel like you have to be a stranger here even if you arent playing FO4 anymore. I have enjoyed your work and will continue to do so as sort of a release from my own day to day grind. Wish you the very best Brother! 3
Sweet Dave Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 +1 to the sentiments expressed so far. This mod has been a favourite of mine for ages with its role-playing potential. And the fact that it “just works”, which is also very impressive. Would anyone have any advice on or know how to go about changing the factions involved? (Military remnants in FROST, for example). I’ve been able to recompile the scripts to make changes here and there and tried replacing all references to Gunners in the scripts and in xEdit to a custom/new faction, which did something, but the dialogue seems to be all random and out of order, as if the conditions aren’t working the way they should.
InfectedWanderer Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 (edited) First, fantastic mod. Has become the mainstay of my LL content in F4. Second, I am just curious if there is a list of vanilla characters(specifically companions) that can trigger the more unique scenes. Specifically I've had trouble getting komrad Strong to do anything but scare raiders and X6 seems to be the only bad BF applicant with Hancock, Cait and Piper all having friendly first time/repeat, interactions. So I don't know if Stronk of human tightness simply doesn't have any interactions or if he is bugged. Also if Cait, Hancock, etc have bad BF potential. As usual I'm probably missing something super obvious somewhere but otherwise I'm just curious how much of this stuff is RNG vs scripted and who can be activated as a bad BF or casual 'dance' partner. If there is a write-up or list of interactions that I am missing I'd love to be pointed in the right direction. PS: I am also curious if I missed(or broke) a mechanic that determines who is top/bottom in female(pc) propositioning female(NPC) scenes. My character(f) is always on top. I don't mind that much, just seems odd given her subby ways in all other scenes.(Edit: She(pc) is not on top with raiders/assaults, only clients.) Thanks again, 10/10 mod. I don't know if he has any plans to release a patch or not but he can probably point you in the right direction. As far as the scrambled topics go. This is very VERY important for people wanting to edit Hardship or other mods that rely on the order priority of topics. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER run any ANNNNNNNY kind of automated operation on Hardship in XEDIT. It will scramble the topics. Misadventures with this have set the mod back by MONTHS twice and made me rearrange them by hand FUCKING TWICE.

You are supposed to be bottom most of the time in Hardship scenes. Exceptions being strapon, gigolo, or certain Player/follower situations. If you are mostly doing FF then this is just normal. If not, this has to be a mod conflict. When Gender doesn't define the position, (Which is often the case with the XMLs I've added.) It should be determined by the actor order in the scriot (IE Acter 0, Actor 1). I am assuming you have some other XML set that is messing with the gender behavior, by simply swapping the actors, Or you changed that setting in the AAF settings.ini, or something along those lines. If you are doing MM scenes and EVER top something like this is definitely the case. Edited November 12, 2021 by Tentacus
requiredname65 Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 @Sweet Dave Gonna dissapoint you but I only patched all mentions of 'caps' into money or dollars as per FROST lore and names like gunners, raiders etc to survivor. I don't think military remnants should be beggarfriendly in FROST. Some npcs are still in raiders faction so that aspect of Hardship works in FROST as is but begging/whoring out must be done to Federation or Settlers or those friendly ncps in random encounters and in Downtown. Other npcs are either downright hostile or will turn hostile when player gets too close. Thus even after managing to turn some tricks to those 'this is mine fuck off' ghouls in tunnels, they will simply reaggro behind you when Hardship scene is over and you are reading messageboxes and you get insta'd. Maybe immersive but certainly not fun ;/ It is done against dev version too so I see no point in releasing it as is. Adding new infos/topics or reordering is not intuitive to do in xedit, keep backups and stay sane.

She sits in the office sometimes. help isabel 4? But seriously if she really isn't there redownload and reinstall the mod, and/or look at your load order, though I find it hard to imagine any way another mod including overhauls could remove her unless they put Dugout in a completely different Cell. (which can happen, but is more common for say, Homeplate mods) Edited November 13, 2021 by Tentacus
InfectedWanderer Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 Sorry if this isn't the right forum for support/help, still finding my way around the norms here. I'm just wondering if Rufgt's old anims are still required/supported for the F/F scenes. So far I can't get f/f Rufgt animations to work with Hardship. Hardship toggles them on every time I load a save. I can play them through AAF menu manually(so I know the anims 'work') but AAF feeds me a 'nothing found for 'tags'' error for the Rufgt animations when Hardship tries to run them. As far as I can tell, all other animations work(with H:BW). So I THINK all themes and tagging 'should' be working as intended. I don't even know which mod is actually causing this issue, so any clues would be helpful. The only other thing, would it ever be possible to have H:BW settings menu not reactivate Rufgt's compatibility every time I load a save? It's not game breaking or anything, if I can't get them working with H:BW I'll probably just remove them entirely. It's just annoying. Thanks for reading either way.

Hardship uses XMLs with custom versions of certain positions. That notification probably predates when I added the installer, and used to just add all the XMLs regardless of if Rufgt was installed or not. (which would cause errors) If you reinstall Hardship with rufgt active it should install the appropriate XMLs. Hopefully that'll solve your issue.
ETSubmariner Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 Didn't this mod offer a significant weight reduction for beggars etc etc? I thought it did, but not seeing it in the MCM. Probably dreamed that up.

So happy it was that simple to fix. Big supermutant thank you! For the record and anyone with the same issue, I uninstalled Hardship, re-installed and placed it after Leito animations(load order) and it's good to go.

Gonna need a lot more info than that I'm afraid. In all seriousness I am not aware of any crash related issues with Hardship. I would suggest you start messing around with your load order and removing mods. If it seems like Hardship is causing it. redownload and reinstall. Redownload and reinstall all Hardship's dependencies if that doesn't work. Corrupted files can be the cause of CTDs. I once had a location based CTD fom a corrupted eye texture. I had a similar issue in skyrim from a corrupted sound file. Files become corrupted just sitting on your hard drive. The universe wants to destroy computer data and one never knows when a stray cosmic particle will flip the wrong bit.
LostDremoraDream Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Has anyone tried voice files yet? I gave a shot at it, I also tried to attempt "revoicing" lines from other mods.... That shit is hard cuz Fo4 CK is actually garbage for lip gen.
