Tiress Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Official response from ST team: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Bj1GMLKDCRGStIzb9OOXJVKie8pY0pd8C1DF-abZN_M/preview# They did a bad thing or two, but I have to respect them for how they handle it right now. Hopefully it will calm the community, it's disgusting how so many people can spit hate without actually knowing anything.
MadMansGun Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 translation: "sorry we were caught stealing" ? at this point i believe Lagulous's evidence of malicious intent to be true.

Perhaps, to me it looks more like Yamashi screwing with everyone, including ST team, but given none of us knows the whole story, it would be quiet arrogant to judge.
Ernest Lemmingway Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 So is this Yamashi character just a sacrificial lamb? Or is he really what the ST team is making him out to be? I'm not taking what's on Reddit at face value without some testimony from people who aren't involved in ST.
ANGRYWOLVERINE Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 sad but true. There's an old rock song from the 60's , maybe 70's .It has a line that goes"money it's a crime" ah yes it was Pink Floyd. Sad that happened to a skyrim project.

Tuvalu Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Well then, I know what mod I am absolutely never downloading. What a clusterfuck.

Zoey McKenzie Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I was really looking forward to finally being able to play Skyrim with my friends. I even got two of my friends to download all the required mods from here and Nexus, and we spent several days setting it all up. Guiding them both trough on how to use MO2. We finally got to play. We played about an hour. Found out it was too unstable, and buggy at the time. So we decided to wait after a couple of updates. Then this happened. Hearth broken, I told my friends. And canceled my pledge. (I was pledged from before, while I was still under the impression that everyone would get access at the same time.) I'm still hoping they'll be able to recover from this, and something good comes of it. But I don't think I'll be supporting them monetarily anymore.

At least's I don't see why it couldn't. They are in contact with SKSE team. Next update will go to them for revision first, open beta should follow. And once ST is out of beta, we are promised with self-hosted servers: Quote Hey there! Good question. I believe that this was stated before, but to clarify, the server files will indeed be publicly released in due time. For now, players are restricted to using the centralized servers in order to allow us control and monitoring over the running instances. As issues are ironed out and we gain confidence in the server's stability, we will be allowing self-hosted servers. In the meantime, we apologize for the sub-par experience the latency might cause. They also seem to be in contact with Bethesda: Quote We have had brief communication with them, they were worried about the usage of patreon for future usage and expressed their concern for it. Currently we're in good standing.

Fnis, Skse team, Ashal, Boris. by the nine dont fuck this up. All eyes are upon you. ?. The most frothy tankards raised to Bethesda for their most diligent virtue, tolerance and patience to our community. Hail the all maker.

You have to sign up first (fair enough), then you navigate through a maze of menus only to be told to file a DMCA takedown notice...which you can't do if you're not the copyright holder. The ST team may or may not be shady, but Patreon itself is shady as f***, imho.
t.ara Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 On the very last end you are "fooling yourself" (myself included) if you do not money-tize your mod-a real modder has a patron - account-isn´t that true??? ....you´re today in every case very much "f*cked up" if you serve your stuff for free and under the ultimate wish of "sharing is love". Others (your enemy) have just began to start crimes with your stuff, while your mod is not yet ready out for an upload. And never forget that something like patreon is taking their customers money! At the final end is their interest not to protect somebody´s "rights", instead they are mostly automated-computer-generated business-machines to make millions / and in future maybe more? of $$$, cashing % off their users, like we see also typically with different other enterprises. Specially, if it comes to content like "sexual"-sensitive, those enterprises seem to promise a virtual anonymity behind a flimsy protection for their users. Anoying-as usual.
Guest Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I'm LMAOing at people who paid money to play the beta of an online MP version of a mediocre 2011 game. Go play ESO or something.
Sakatraka Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Luckily, this type of person does not represent the EOC community, most of the community are very adult people, so as not to bite any bone
tejano2828 Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Which is why I visit MODPIRACY reddit and download so called "original work" from authors who cry "but I made that!" No you didn't you stole it from BDO and KDA and other sources and then try to sell it. What a joke.
Ernest Lemmingway Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Getting back on topic, is there any news about Skyrim Together? Or is nothing new being said about it?
Tiress Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 15 hours ago, Ernest Lemmingway said: Getting back on topic, is there any news about Skyrim Together? Or is nothing new being said about it? Main devs are busy with RL stuff atm so not much of a progress is being made. Nothing new about the drama as far as I know.
Ernest Lemmingway Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 This ain't good for Skyrim Together. Max Griot, the lead programmer, threw a fit on Reddit. Not a smart move when your project is entirely dependent on the goodwill of patrons.
