Ebesint Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Hmmm... I could do without the mod that seems to be, so lets see
Ebesint Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 I took out cass' terramen and for some reason, not only am i still crashing, but its still giving that error. I'm almost positive it must be that too cus of the way i see those mods coded, and the only other thing i could possibly think of is one of the new mods i recently got. But then what the fuck ks a big bro warlock and why is it on every other planet in my starting system???
Ebesint Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Ok i went to a desert and instead of bigbrowarlock it was big bro coco so now im wondering why my world is still acting like theyre there when its straight up not in there anymore. Do i reallyy gotta restart my universe?
Erina Sugino Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Yes you do. The monsters are saved in the world file as entities last loaded in the world, and everytime that section loads the game implodes because this type of entity is not defined anymore. Mod like these make permanent changes to the universe that cannot be reverted when uninstalling mods, other than deleting all affected files.

Coming back to starbound having gotten myself a steam deck, after updating all my mods, i found that i keep getting denied entry to some planets by being immediately teleported back to my ship after walking too far in either direction, even down and i presume up. i did realize that i still had stellaris' furniture addon, which was apparently depricated now, and decided to take off the one lustbound mod that was incompatible just in case, but it hasnt seemed to have done anything. So i just want to know if theres like an easy, definitive reason why i keep crashing back to my ship on multiple planets because i doubt restarting my universe over and over is gonna help fix this, and i'd like to keep as many of the new big mods as i can since i decided to ditch FU this time Yeah, both Blake's Terramons and the Cass's Terramens had similar issues with improper setup of spawns, and by extension, ruining your planets by causing the game to try to spawn in non-existant monsters. Monster mods alter planets, and are thus, permanent, unless you remake the planet, or fix the spawns. I took a look at the mod (Cass Terramens) and found it had two entirely non-existant monsters meant to spawn, tried to fix it, by making one of them and removing mention of the other one entirely. I don't know if i succeeded, as i've not had problems with that version, but someone took the version i made and fixed it even more lol. The file is available at the end of the thread for Cass's Terramens. As for Blake's Terramons, there is always EB's attempts at fixing it, and i've not seen reports of it doing this. 1 hour ago, Ebesint said: fuk If you install both fixed mods, there is a chance the planet will start working again, but generally, if you install a faulty module, you'll get a faulty result, sadly.
513 Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 (edited) Is there a new version or is the 2021 file still the latest? (Also is there a way to enable the POV module?) Edited October 21, 2022 by 513 Typo/Other Question

It only does anything when the necessary artwork is there however, for which you need addon mods like POV Redux. It also only does something when using races that are supported, which in most cases are only the vanilla races. 1

Erina Sugino Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 You shouldn't have random raw artwork files, you should have a mod. And that goes into the mods folder like everyone else too. If you do have your own assets you have to just throw them into the artworks folder - or better create your own mod so the game properly recognizes it (and you know how to remove them later on if needed.) 1

Erina Sugino Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 This huge log file is a mess, so I'll just go by things that I noticed that certainly have the potential to break more than just this in order of importance: - You installed Fracking Universe - You have a dozen highly outdated sexbound addons. - You have a huge amount of mods
Moddedlover27 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 soooooo im haveing problems with sextalk in that it doesn't exist except for monsters and i really want my character specific dialogs please help. starbound.log

Right away i see SexboundFutanari, which is highly outdated and breaks Sexbound 100% of the time. Nothing else instantly jumps at me as being a problem, and i'm not going to go through all the incompatibilities list (Which is a topic you could have checked back then) 1 hour ago, Moddedlover27 said: soooooo im haveing problems with sextalk in that it doesn't exist except for monsters and i really want my character specific dialogs please help. Still bothered by this issue, as it's something i don't know why it would be happening. You have the dialogue mod, it is installed correctly, and it should force Florans, Glitch and Fenerox all to ONLY use custom dialogue. Of which you say there is none. ... really beats me.

It tells us your mods and if they're installed correctly. Quote So, to better report issues, try providing a description of the issue and recreating the issue in-game, then providing a log file. To find the log file, it should be within your Starbound installation directory, then the storage folder. You should see a text file named starbound.log (Or simply starbound, a plain text file). Paste it into your response as a attached file, or use PasteBin, whichever you prefer. Then users can look into your issues with the necessary information at hand. <Just please don't post the whole thing as text here> After the log is sent, tell us, what (alien/humanoid) race are you trying to use, and with what race are you engaging with?

Like I thought it was maybe just my own syntax fucking up but between the fact that it seems to be happening to multiple races and not just the one i'm using, and that someone else seems to be having the same problem makes me think otherwise. And tbh, even removing, what I assume you're talking about, the Extended Dialogue project, as well as the patch to remove default dialogue didn't seem to do anything. Granted I don't think I tested the glitch friend I have when I removed both but surely the dialogue should be showing up if the race is going by default. And what's weird is i'm pretty sure the sextalk AND the SFX for my race were working around when I first started playing starbound again after so long. And looking through what I can, everything should be coded correctly between extended dialogues and my thing. Edited October 28, 2022 by Ebesint

I tried human with all races, I tried avian with all races, I tried apex with all races, the pov window did not open in my entire time playing. I assumed at first that the POV window was just not a feature of the mod but now I'm starting to think something is wrong. Your log has no errors, which is very good, but i do see the PoV mod is not installed correctly. It is likely inside a "folder inside of a folder" type of scenario. So, to make sure it is installed correctly, do make sure that the mod's folder is: Quote Make sure your mod is installed correctly! Check for the correct types of file: PAK files are fine, just drop 'em in the Mods folder and you're good! A well-packed mod needs no extra handling. ZIP files need to be unpacked! When handling ZIP files, it is recommended to open the file on it's own first, and check what comes up. -- If the ZIP file contains a single folder, right click the ZIP file and choose "Extract Here". The new folder is the mod! -- If the ZIP file contains a bunch of folders, files, and more importantly, a _metadata file, then you should right click the ZIP file and choose "Extract to <Filename>"! Once you have the file in your computer, feel free to take the ZIP file out of your mods folder. It does not get loaded and doesn't seem to impact load times, but organization helps later! Make sure that you got all of Step 1 correct, by double-checking: Open the mod folder and see if the _metadata file or similar patch or config files are present in the folder right away. I mean right away as in when you open <Folder named after the mod>, and not another folder inside of it. Move the files out of that extra folder, if there are extra folders! Example: <mods/Sexbound API/Sexbound src/_metadata file, artwork, etc.> -- In this case, there is one extra folder, move the contents of "Sexbound src" up one folder and you should be good. NEVER spill files into the mods folder! If you unzip a mod and over 2 files pop-out, then you likely have installed it incorrectly! Mod files that aren't a PAK need to be inside their own little folder to be recognized properly. The game will skip most file types during loading, including patch files, config files and more! It's a bit of a hefty guide, sorry about that, but wanted to cover as many points in which people often make these mistakes.
Ebesint Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Quick question, is adding armor support as easy as making the assets and making the containing folder the same dir as the wearables in sxb, but also with its item name?

It's not hard, but it's a tiny bit more than that. The folders/images are all defined in the patch in the clothing item. It's just a small text file, written in JSON, that associates the Sexbound files, to the clothing. The rest is all internal magic. Example: hawaiian.legs.patch [ { "op" : "add", "path" : "/sexboundConfig", "value" : { "image" : [ "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/pants.png", "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/pants_variant.png" ], "imagePregnant" : "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/pants_pregnant.png" } } ] hawaiian.chest.patch [ { "op" : "add", "path" : "/sexboundConfig", "value" : { "images" : { "body" : [ "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/chest.png", "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/chest_variant.png" ], "bodyPregnant" : "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/chest_pregnant.png", "backSleeve" : "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/bsleeve.png", "frontSleeve" : "/artwork/humanoid/<role>/default/wearable/hawaiian/<gender>/fsleeve.png" } } } ] Variant parts being "options" for the same piece. So the character will randomly pick between two or more options if available, when going into the Sex animation, and can be switched using the arrows around the clothing buttons on the top. So you can put more than 1 clothing animation if you really want to. Each clothing covers certain parts (Chest covers body, front-sleeve and back-sleeve, pants just cover body, etc.) and that's all you gotta assign. This is all inside the API files, if you want to use it as an example.

Merc_ Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Is it possible to disable the player's moans? I'm playing as a human and would prefer it without. Tried checking the code but unless I'm blind the only way to disable it is to disable it altogether. (I forgot to reply to my past message here, thanks for offering help but it's not needed since I just started a new save anyways)
