what exactly will the next update contain?

It'll add a new delivery quest, a new short quest that unlocks the delivery quest and it'll overhaul Seeking The Curse.

Both the delivery quest and STC will use the radiant system. That means it'll select a fitting objective at random. So it will choose a customer for the delivery and chests for STC.

It's the first time that I use this system so it took a while before it got it right, but I like how it turned out so far.

this reminds me laura, seeing as both elvira's deviously pink store and cursed loot's dollmaker have an advertisement quest where you wear their "merch" (a catsuit with their company's name on it) any plan on something similar?

There's already a 'uniform' you have to wear for the delivery quest. :)

Can we see a preview of the 'uniform'?

I don't want to show something that might change. I'll post a preview later on.

Doubt this is going to be of interest to many people since Open Cities is pretty hard to integrate in a load order with many LL mods, but here's a (mostly untested) patch for the SSE version of LBS to make it work with Open Cities: OCS + LBS.esp
Pretty much just moves the chests, patrol markers and NPCs that were placed in walled cities into the OCS equivalents to make Seeking The Curse work.

I assume most people avoid Open Cities because it's an incompatibility nightmare, but it's nice to have something for people who do use it.

Eagerly awaiting the new update with more story :)
I've been keeping an eye on any updates here for a while, I really like this mod.

Thank you.

The upcoming one isn't a story update, but I already have plans for the story update after that.

By the way, your avatar is from Blending In right?

If there are or will be more compatibility patches like this, I think it'd be a nice gesture to provide a link on the mod page to the posts containing them.

Changing the main post will give everybody a notification that something is new. I don't want to bamboozle 1002 people. He also said that it wasn't really tested yet. I'm honestly not sure what to do.

The patch is really simple, just moves the NPCs, chests and patrol markers added by LBS to the Open Cities versions of their cells. But if you're going to rework that quest to use the radiant system, then this patch may become obsolete in the next update anyways... so, not sure either ?

I added a link to the first comment on page 1.

Those chests are still used in the next update by the way. :)

@Laura 'Lokomootje', I just restarted Skyrim (SE) with DCL's alternate start, though I had to quit the game for a bit. Anyhow, this idea just struck me, and I guess it might be of interest to you:

I remember another forum member suggesting an expansion of the shop, including a 'secret basement' of all sorts instead of the cell, as well as other stuff to fill the empty spaces. What struck me is the idea of, while not turning the shop into an Inn or anything similar, creating a spare room for trustworthy people such as the player (hey, not all player characters are swimming in gold enough for a mansion from the start, and the shop is located on the way to  Whiterun, a place most people visit in the beginning). But there has to be a catch, much like the "I'll tie you up for free but I won't free you".

How about charging either a sum ten or more times higher than inns for an entire day, or... the player has to sleep in bondage inside a cell (much like the quest the player is mistaken for the thief and spends a night in the cell all locked up tight), but either pays a symbolic amount or even nothing (this is Laura we're talking about, pretty much everyone loves her)?!

What do you think of this idea? :)

I actually have something like that in my notes. A locking basement that could be your home if you agree to a few things. I want it to be part of some kind of domme/sub quest.

Devious minds think alike then, and now you made me even more curious for the upcoming updates! :) Another fun thing, I tried another alt start mod ("Wartimes, a daughter's tale") and the house the player starts at is just in front of Laura's shop. ??

I don't know when I'll add the basement though. There are a bunch of other things I want to do first.

i am surely not the only one who would wish the shop would be inside whiterun city ( or in any other town).

This place has quite an obsolete mod past. (Animal Mansion, Maria Eden, some player homes , etc.)

It's almost impossible to get a location that is A easily accessible and B not used by another mod (because of A).

If you place it inside Whiterun you get massive issues with the numerous city overhauls etc.

Best way to remedy this is for the user to create their own compatibility patch. Eg move the shop/another mods building in the CK.

For my 'bondage shop' (also listed on LL) I picked a place at the rear of Whiterun. That is out of the way but it does not interfere with any mod that I know of.

Like naaitsab said, that can cause even more issues. I'd have to alter the inside of Whiterun which will make it incompatible with most mods that change Whiterun. I'll also have to change things that can even mess with vanilla Whiterun.

It would be nicer to place it inside, but it's sadly not a good idea.

after reading this post, I looked up Wartimes and it looked really interesting. Sadly, I couldn't get it to work right. I'm not sure if I was missing something, if the load order was wrong, or if something was conflicting with it. At some point I just couldn't talk to any npc's and the father character just didn't do anything. But, it did look interesting.
