Banned from Nexus

i read the cartoons and did not find them offensive HOWEVER america has an epidemic of political correctness and all it takes to get banned from a site that is american based these days is to make an innocent comment with no real intention of being offensive and then have someone accuse you of being offensive. while i think whoever tagged you as offensive was being a whiney sniveling butthurt little *&%@ i also have to say that using the word gay in any context at all can be very very dangerous and provoke the bannhammer easily and swiftly. there are lots of whiney sniveling butthurt people who cant just let little innocent made remarks go. and while i dont know for sure if the nexus is truly an american based company, (by the way i am american saying this born and raised so please dont get all offended or something lol) im guessing that it prolly is just the way they constantly swing the bannhammer at everyone for little minor mistakes of political ocrrectness and offesnses like this even on the first offense often without warning. i agree its total bullcrap and is more in line with fascism than freedom of thought and speech within a relatively respectful environment but i dont know what can be done about it.

1. It's based on Europe, D0rky might be American but this leads to my second point.

2. Generalizing a whole nation or group of people on terrible stereotypes kinda makes you an ignorant little shit, no offense but fuck you.

3. Speaking of butthurt your whole post reeks of distaste and hatred, hypocrisy is adorable.

4. Good job on the colorful insults and negative remarks, bet you feel like a regular now, huh?

5. ...wat? That whole wall of text to say "AMG NEXUS IS BUTTHURT OPINIONS IS INVALID CAN'T HAS FREEDOM!"? Goddammit, man. :|

I dislike the Nexus as much as anyone else but posting here just to insult them knowing absolutely nothing about the subject at hand is a little silly.

Especially when all you went on about is freedoms and Americanism. Kinda... really....... stupid.

Just my two cents.

first of all, the whole group of people you accuse me of generalizing is my own, and even then its not like im saying everyone does it. i dont know where you get that from. i didnt say everyone does it. an epidemic just means its common issue and happens alot. however, in regards to the laws, culture, and political correctness issues of where i live, i DO live here. i see it almost every day in one form or another, usually online these days. usually people dont make big enough political correctness accidents in public to land on the local news but occassionally that happens too...there is a difference between a political correctness accident and an incident that is purposefully offensive. my point being im not ignorant of the political correctness issues that occur where i live because i live here and see it..or see it on media sites originating here in my own experience and in no way did i say everyone here does it.

however, if im wrong about the origin of the nexus comapny itself being american (regardless whether or not an american is in charge of it) and it is in fact in the UK and follows UK laws and customs regarding political correctness, then fine. i can admit if im wrong about that, although i still stand by the point i made about how easy it is to have people get offended over something posted online that wasnt actually intended to offend people (your response to my first post  being a prime example as well as the ops story in this thread) and i stand by my point that the banhammer often swings far too quickly in such situations....also, speaking about the banhammer, whether i think its fair or not, and the issue of political correctness are in line with the actual topic of this thread and is therefore relevant to the thread.

secondly, im not saying political correctness issues dont ever crop up everywhere. im telling how it is here with political correctness issues in my personal experience so far.   im not actually attempting to be hateful about it. im trying to describe what i have observed. while i may not have been here for that long on loverslab i have been lurking around modding communities and forums long enough to know a bit of something about the issue of political correctness triggered reports and banhammers and that not all of them are deserved...never had it happen to me but ive seen it happen.

thirdly, my comment about freedom of speech is relevant to this issue. there has to be a balance between being able to speak ones mind freely vs knowingly or purposefully being hateful or aggressive. without being able to freely express ones honest opinions and observations or thoughts on a matter, the topics cannot be thoroughly and honestly conversed about or debated. problems and the true roots of problems, as they truly are, cannot be found and truly fixed. therefore if i think honestly that a reaction to an event such as the op describes in this thread is caused by someone overreacting and being whiney or butthurt over something not even intended to be offensive at all thus causing an unfair banhammer to fall on them, i think i should be able to say it... just as if you do not agree with me you should be able to say so as well...and clearly you have.

but if in the process of speaking my mind on this issue in an honest and direct way i have also managed to cross the line of forum rules with the use of my language to describe my view, i can rephrase things better in the future...though its looking like such language must be perfectly permissible since youve also replied simiarly to me. but if someone takes what ive said here offesively just be aware thats not the intention here.

fourthly, with the butthurt remark  i was referring to whoever tagged the op on the nexus regarding what they say happened to them on the nexus. im not assuming the nexus itself originally tagged them. the nexus made a choice on how to respond to the report and that choice was apparently the banning of the op. so my comments in regards to someone being butthurt was about whoever originally tagged their post. just want to be sure that if you dont like something i said that at the very least you have the right understanding of what i said so that you can not like it fairly.

In all my letters, I try harder than anything else to make myself clear. I try to state things as simply and unambiguously as I can because I find that that's the best way to convince my readers that Dark0ne expresses hostile odium toward anyone who intends to cast a gimlet eye on his vaporings. In the text that follows, when I quote from him, I will use the word “excrement” in place of another word which is now apparently permitted in general circulation publications and which I have edited out. I know more about incendiarism than most people. You might even say that I'm an expert on the subject. I can therefore state with confidence that Dark0ne's monographs have created a yellow-bellied, two-faced universe devoid of logic and evidence. Only within this universe does it make sense to say that Dark0ne is a refined gentleman with the soundest education and morals you can imagine. Only within this universe does it make sense to provide financial support to backwards banana republics and their temulent dictators. And, only if we improve the lot of humankind can we destroy this loathsome universe of his and put an end to his evildoing.

Although I can find only circumstantial evidence of misconduct and rule violations, if I didn't sincerely believe that Dark0ne's peevish smear tactics bring to mind the maxim that Dark0ne needs to internalize the external truth that he is trying to fill our children's minds with raving and debasing superstitions just to prove he can, then I wouldn't be writing this letter. His opinion is that his vices are the only true virtues. Of course, opinions are like sphincters: we all have them. So let me tell you my opinion. My opinion is that Dark0ne's faculty for deception is so far above anyone else's, it really must be considered different in kind as well as in degree.

Dark0ne is like the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. Pull back the curtain of cronyism and you'll see an uncouth shirker hiding behind it, furiously pulling the levers of conspiracism in an unregenerate attempt to peddle the snake oil of insurrectionism-oriented ruffianism. That sort of discovery should make any sane person realize that many of us are too naïve and trusting. It takes a lot of convincing to get us to see a person as inherently jealous or inherently overbearing. Alas, Dark0ne is doing all he can to provide us with unmistakable proof that he is inherently both. For instance, Dark0ne exhibits an air of superiority. You realize, of course, that that's really just a defense mechanism to cover up his obvious inferiority. Help me help people see Dark0ne's philopolemical apothegms for what they are. Join your hands with mine in this, the greatest cause of our time.

im fine with people disagreeing with me, they have that right. they can dislike me or hate me while theyre at it if they like...cant control that and worrying about it wont do me any good. but i do get frustrated when im misunderstood. ive found that more often than not the harder i try to make myself clear the more people misunderstand me. in my personal experience i have found that whether i attempt to fully and carefully explain my position on a topic or whether i throw something out there in a hurry without bothering to write a novel to clarify it doesnt seem to matter....by that i mean there seems to be a chance that somebody somewhere who reads the posts may still somehow misunderstand it or be offended by it even when im not trying to be offensive and tried my best to clarify it... t can be hard to estimate accurately the rate at which this occurs but guessing i would say 10 percent of the time across the board...though it may also just seem like it happens more than it does i guess... but for a while, i had actually took to saving prewritten default letters of various common topics so that i didnt have to keep trying to retype everything each time i had to explain my stance on that topic...i dont know whether the issue lies with me in the sense that im somehow failing to communicate well enough or if the issue lies in others..

anyways, frame of reference is a strange and interesting psychological mechanism. its where generalizations come from. its the concept that a person only knows about that which they experience personally or are told about from others. it serves an evolutionary purpose in helping us avoid danger by grouping not so pleasant experiences together in an attempt to help us identify possible similar dangers in the futrure. but in modern times and civilization, it more often than not causes generalizations based on misunderstandings etc. this is something everyone does instinctively on some level, some people more or less than others, but its a base psychological function. since we all do this on some level or another, its best to point out such things gently at first rather than with a harsh tone.

a good example from my own personal experience (frame of reference) was a couple semesters ago i had a teacher whose first name was Kim. when i signed up for the class i could see the name. i just assumed the person was female. that assumption in no way guided my choice to sign up for that class...it was a required class anyways. it was just information i made an assumption about bnased on what i already know about the english name Kim. turns out first day of class the teacher was a man named Kim. several other people in class admitted they thought he was female too and no one was offended by that but acknowledged their own frames of reference did them in on that particular occassion.

this same issue can pose a whole new kind of problem online though. people sitting behind the anonymity of the pc screen may sometimes act differently than they otherwise would. not everyone, not always, but some people sometimes. hard to really get an accurate ratio on that though...but anyways, this could even include the people that overreact to even the slighhtest accidental pc faux paus or incidents where no such offense would otherwise be noted.

I can't really see why you would get banned from this. But im guess for the blood or cigarett/joint...

Original Credits Uploaded again xD

Lets see how much it takes them to remove the LL part now that is a "hot file"

Well, they can't say they warned you before. Gonna laugh if they slap this to the wall of fame with a formal warning.

Nexus is too big for the staff to catch it.  Someone will have to report it or (the more likely scenario) one of the staff will see us laughing about it here and remove it.

so youre telling me the nexus spies on loverslab and will use the info gathered to report and remove posts on their own forums and ban people? how sneaky and shadey... they keepp this shit up and eventually they will have no viewers left cuz they banned them all and then loverslab will have them all XD

pretty sure the dumbfucks dont. its not an assumption, but experience.

aaaaah, sweet retirement, no more caring about a fucking misanthrop that thinks he runs a (crappy) business and thinks he is a god while other guys spend the same time working on webbase apps and suddenly make a fortune selling their stuff to companies like amazon... not sure how much dork1 knows about computers, but he for fucking sure sucks ass as a businessman.

hm.

it was nice to nag again about that dumbfuck after some weeks of abstinence :) ... you gotta love that fucknut <3

I agree. If you want American beer it should be Yuengling (whatever flavor you prefer) from a colored glass bottle.

Just saw that the description was changed again.Guess they have no respect for mod authors and the work that they do.

Not even 1 day xD

I asked Dark0ne, he told me to check the action tab on the mod page and if you scroll through it enough you can see when TVD made his credit changes on the 29th (before Yoo's update)

Then after that all you see is Yoo's update, and how he changed the credits on the 31st and after that no file changes were made.

So either it's a site error or Yoo decided to be proactive in hiding attention to himself from the mods :)

Or it's some seriously dark plot and Dark0ne's been doing stuff and hiding his own actions on the mod page

Guess what! Credits to LL magically dissapeared from the "Long description" on Merida's they are still on the credits little button, but its not anymore on the main page...

Although I've to give them credit, this time they were silent since they left no traces on the Actions history.

Credits reuploaded again with a tiny difference ;)

Once again they edited the credits again, but this time they left:

LL "The forbidden Lab": For their support <3

They forgot the "AKA" part, but its better than nothing ^^

btw, I kept updating this page and for a second I saw an anonimous user browsing this topic. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but its too much coincidence...

Too bad there isn't a script that you could make that whenever they delete a LL two more pop up they delete another LL 4 more pop up after awhile they would be swimming in LL's all over the place. That would be funny go to the nexus and see LL's all over the place.

Posted

Why even bother posting it there? I kind of understand why they act like a bunch of strong-armed gangsters, but if you have to go through this just to post proper credits, then you probably shouldn't bother posting it there. And it's not like LL is some unknown entity, people who do any sort of skyrim modding know about this place.

"Having said that, as you rightly point out, if a moderator has changed something on your file page then they should have contacted you to let you know what and why. If you can provide me with more information about the file in question, what was edited and essentially what happened in more detail then I will surely investigate this for you and, if necessary, send a formal reminder to the staff member in question letting them know of their indiscretion. None of the staff here will ever claim to be infallible and it's very likely they made a mistake."

Unhuh...Sooooo...They are STILL editing your upload page and NOT telling you, even AFTER Dark0ne's farcical 'formal reminder' not to do so.  So let's review.  Dark0ne has no control over his staff, since they are still doing it (but now they're being sneaky about it), OR Dark0ne is just full of shit like always and is the liar we all know him to be.  YET somehow (in Dark0ne twisted little fucked-up-the-ass world) it is all OK.

If it were my mod, I would delete the uploaded files and replace them with a text doc that reads 'Nope.  Nothing to see here.'  I would delete all of the text on the long descirption are replace it with,  'Nope.  Nothing to see here.  The Nexus staff keeps editing this page without notifying me, even though Dark0ne has instructed them not to do so.  I'm not telling them how to perform their duties.  Their boss is and they are ignoring him.'

Well, now I've been allowed to say "Thanks to the community on LL for their help and support" on the credits. So lets pray for this truce to become true.

I get most of my mods and things for my skyrim from the nexus, but I really have to say that they go over the top with banning people for no good reasons, it really makes me angry that they do this without even caring if you have a valid reason for whatever infraction was incurred, they just don't seem to care about anyone but themselves 99% of the time, and its really hurt their community. I've seen a lot of great modders leave them and stop making content just because of the way the nexus handles themselves, its really sad to see, however as the old saying goes, if you want something done right you have to do it yourself, and most people don't have the ability have design a quality place for people to go to to get the content they want for their games

Corona in a glass bottle with 1/4 of a key lime squeezed in.  The secret is to use the limes that fall off the tree naturally.  They look more like a lemon than a lime color wise.  Those key limes you get in the U.S. are underripe green crap.  Might as well just pour citric acid in your beer.

Funny is that Robin Scott says he chose to ignore LL and on the other side meticulously pays attention this site doesn't get mentioned anywhere on the Nexus. It's always very revealing when people do their best to pretend sovereignty and get entangled in contradictions, showing how much they really care.

Not being allowed to mention places on the net that are clearly legal like LL is what every dictatorship does. Dictators see a country as their own, so does R.S.

It's not a country, and his realm of might is quite small compared to, let's say, China, but it's the way of thinking that matters. I doubt that he would become a fan of free speech if he was the leader of a country. Nexustan would surely be no democracy at all, I'm afraid.

Of course he is right in a legal sense - it's "his" site, so his rules apply. But on the other hand "his" site wouldn't be able to exist without the contributions of thousands of modders. R.S. obviously does not see that and uses the Nexus as his narcissistic supply, together with the mods there. Though having mods on Nexus is a major benefit for R.S. he claims that hosting mods is a favour he does to the modders. It's truly twisted.

Though I respect that the proprietor of a site can establish and enforce his very own rules, that does not mean that I have to respect what these rules reveal about the site owners mindset and personality. I still have no hatred for the Nexus or R.S., but I find his abuse of the Nexus as his narcissistic supply odious.
