Make sure you have the FNIS Creature Pack installed. Run Generate FNIS for Users again afterwards.

Check the Aroused Creatures MCM > Help page to see if there are any obvious issues.

Use SexLab MCM > Rebuild & Clean > Clean System to reset SexLab. you will need to reconfigure SL afterwards including enabling creature animation.

Thanks, it turns out I totally forgot you needed to enable creature animations in Sexlab.

Hi, I'm getting a problem where none of the creatures seem interested in mating no matter how high their arousal is. I've been using the invite hotkey with the arousal threshold for it set to 10 or 0, but in either case I get the message that they're not interested, even though the animal's arousal is well about the threshold, sometimes even above the threshold that I understand is used for when they approach me, which they don't do either. Not sure what I'm doing wrong with setup, though I'm using 4.04 right now if it's a known bug in that version. Updating to 4.05 now, but not sure if that'll fix this.

After a failed invite go to the Aroused Creatures MCM > Help page which will list possible issues with the configuration and recent engagement failures. Highlight the indicators or failure codes to see an explanation and possible fixes at the bottom of the interface.

sexlab creature animation is enable in the sexlab mcm.

Go to the Aroused Creatures MCM > Help page which shows potential issues with the configuration and lists recent engagement failures for PC/NPCs and Creatures. Highlight an option to see an explanation and possible solution at the bottom of the interface.

If the Defeat compatibility option is greyed out it means that Defeat is not enabled in the load order and the option will have no effect regardless of setting.

Is there any way to incoperate tis mod with RIA? RIA stopped to work only by 4.01 version of aroused creature.

That patch needs to be updated for the current version. Changes were made to Aroused Creatures to allow future RIA-like patches to make changes to the animations with less risk to compatibility but it needs to be recompiled to take advantage of this.

ETA: A Dynamic Animation Replacer version of RIA has just been posted in the RIA support thread.

Hello,  I tried searching for an answer myself but couldn't find one so I apologize in advance if this has been asked already.  The mod works perfectly for my player character but I can't get it to work for NPCs or followers.  Animals only pursue my character and even if I select a creature and then tell my follower to do it, it will then just say "(whoever) is unable to to attend the aroused (creature)."

I used the help feature in aroused creature and all the settings there are green and saying I'm okay.  I also have "allow NPC auto engagements" selected.

Any idea why it works for the player but not followers or NPCs?

After a failed engagement either the NPC or the creature should have an entry in the Recent NPC/PC/Creature Engagement Failures lists on the Help page. Highlight their entries in this list to see an explanation of the failure code and possible solutions at the bottom of the interface.

If there is still an issue I will need to see a Papyrus log for a game in which the issue was seen. Papyrus logging must first be enabled in your INI and the Debug option must be checked in Aroused Creatures MCM > General Settings. Remember to disable both afterwards.

Just uploaded a new version of SexLab Aroused Creatures SE (v4.06).

This is a very small update mainly intended to address a conflict with the stripping and invite animation timing. To this end the delay between inviting and the actual invite animation starting has been increased from 2 to 3secs. This delay can now be configured under Dialogue & Interactions > Invite. Setting the Invite Strip Delay to 0 will disable the stripping animation completely and just play the invite animation.

SexLab Aroused Creatures SE v4.06 (40009) (2021-05-06):

  • Added: Option to increase delay for strip animation or to disable it under Dialogue & Interactions > Invite > Invite Strip Delay (this option currently applies to all stripping events for PC and NPCs).
  • Changed: Increased default strip delay to 3 seconds.
  • Fixed: prevent direct invitation or dialogue with silent creatures currently involved in pursuits. Script lag is an issue so pursuits can still trigger at inappropriate moments because the process was started before the visible events.

I have used this in the past and it worked but right now having slight issue. I went to the help section and it says my character is "HOSTILE"  anyway to change that? I can't find a setting for it but I'm probably just blind.

It means that the creature is hostile to the PC. Use Defeat to handle sex during combat and One With Nature to make normally hostile wild creatures friendly.

That is what I did, trying it with wolves (easier to find) which are set as friendly. Says the wolf can't find a victim and for my character it says I'm hostile. I remember before this wasn't an issue I had it working back then but that was a long time back. I just don't know how to get around this.

The wolf faction behaviour may be overridden by something else. Try finding wolves in another area and see if they are similarly affected. If so then there may be a mod overriding the changes made by OWN (maybe a combat or creature mod). You could also try waiting until their cell resets and see if it changes.

More informative console will be able to show things like factions and magic effects added to these creatures by other mods which might give you some clues as to what's going on.

This worked. Now I just need to figure out why the animation isn't aligned. Currently wolf is standing still. I know there was a way to fix this but again this was a while back and now I have no clue.

Edit: I just remembered I used FNIS and Nemesis to get this working. I just need to figure out how I did it back then...

Edit2: Alright fixed it. Followed some instructions I found for using the two and it worked. It was a guide using MO2 but still worked using Vortex. Also yeah seems if you make any changes to the arousal thresholds you just change areas to take affect. Like moving from whiterun to riverwood. Thanks for helping me out with this.

If the wolf is frozen (tail straight out) then this is likely an issue with FNIS. Make sure that the FNIS Creature Pack is installed then run Generate FNIS for Users with the HKX Compatibility patch enabled and deal with any warnings or errors (they are all important!).

If the creature is merely using its regular idle animation then this is probably an issue with SexLab. Use SexLab MCM > Rebuild & Clean > Clean System and follow the instructions in the popups. You will need to reconfigure SexLab afterwards including re-enabling creatures and re-registering SLAL animations.

Like I said I managed to fix it now. I just had to get FNIS and look up a guide on using it with Nemesis and now everything works.  the only issue I currently have I think has to do with the arousal threshold because some wolves will mate while others aren't interested.

I just need to go through all the arousal threshold options and that should be fixed.

The default SexLab Aroused update frequency is very long - once every 15 minutes, I think. You can turn this all the way down to a matter of seconds in the SexLab Aroused MCM so arousal levels will change in a more timely fashion.

Thanks I just changed that. Now I did Invite Arousal set to zero, Player Suitor Arousal 40, for Arousal & Consent I set creature 40 and player 15 with Required Arousal Either and Consent Adaptive. and I have invite crouch turned on and set to overwrite required arousal to zero just incase. Wolf arousal is 51. So the issue still seems in the help section for my character it says "The actor is hostile to their intended partner".

I have no weapons equipped and I keep fists sheathed. I don't know why it says my character is hostile.

All the mods I'm using currently (little under 90) are Animation, Textures, Model changes, UI/HUD, and one armour mod. None should be affecting my character this way.

EDIT: Alright so found a wolf that works. When I targeted it the arousal was green not red. I don't know why though.

"Hostile" in this case means literally in combat since that is the only working hostility test available in the game.

If the creature is not actually fighting or running away from you then it is likely that something else is overriding their combat behaviour to prevent them from attacking or fleeing. Things like Defeat can do this. It's also possible that the creature was aggroed on you before configuring OWN or is forced to be hostile by a quest or some other hidden mechanic so the OWN effects are not being respected.

Its always best to configure OWN before leaving the Alternate Start cell. But even then there will be situation where it just does not apply.

More Informative Console will enable you to look through the factions and packages affecting actors which might identify mods impacting this.

I got that mod, I just don't know what I am looking for or how to go about it. I figure out opening console command clicking the wolf brings up some information and I think it was CTRL + Left Click on any of the lines opens a second window with information. I just don't know what to look for through all of this.

EDIT: Think I got it to work now, I keep adjusting every arousal requirement I could find and now have for PC set to 15 (easy to reach) and creature 30 (to hopefully avoid creatures spamming me) and now 3/4 encounters no problem aside from clipping halfway through the ground (bad location to start the animation) I used sexlab to change location. Thing is after I did that the wolf backed away and went into hostile idle animation ready to fight.

Little weird but killed it so hopefully when the area respawns it won't do that again.

All in all I think it's fine now, thanks for the help.

The items in the lists will have form IDs, the first two digits in those IDs represent the hexadecimal load order position of the mod that's providing them. Things that might be affecting combat, aggression, etc. are factions, packages, magic effects.

But this might just be vanilla wolf behaviour triggered before OWN could apply it's own effects. OWN is very much a workaround to a non-problem - Aroused Creatures was never intended for combat, for sex with enemies, that's what Defeat is for. You may have to give up on those particular wolves.

Well it definitely works now. I noticed when I was having the problems you uploaded an update. should I update now and if so how do I go about this without creating more problems?

The mod is designed to be updated in-place so you can just replace the version you have now and keep playing. Might want to save you profile.

From that screenshot it doesn't even look like you've been near any creatures.

Make sure nothing is overriding Aroused Creature's files.

Check that SexLab is functioning correctly with MatchMaker or another SL mod.

Make a clean install of the mod: uninstall SLAC, load last save, wait five minutes, save again then reinstall.

Enable Papyrus logging for your game and post the log here.
