To get an answer to that question, you will have to wait and see. :)

Unless you paid attention to Ivy/Deb's background, in which case there is only one answer....

Which I won't post (because I can't find spoiler tags) ?

Deb's brother (possibly older) was killed by the Atom Cats, who haven't been the Atom Cats for very long.

Every time I go away for a period of time, you just keep getting better and adding new things to Ivy. I'm still staying away from FO4 until she is done, and I like the fact that you are changing things about her. Being able to have her with another follower is great news. I can use Ivy, Heather, Dogmeat & any of the other single followers. With Ivy being like Heather and Dogmeat not counting as a follower, there is no need for a follower mod (not that I use one anyway). With a small team of 5, you can lay waste to anything that you want to go up against.

So, now I'll step away from this thread for another period of time and check on the status later.

P.S. @ChicGeek Hello, love your voice for Ivy. Didn't think anyone could make a Synth sound sexy as fuck, but I was wrong.

Don't get your hopes up too much on the multi-follower thing for Ivy. I'm not there yet, merely investigating what's possible.

Implemented a long overdue fix in Ivy's activation quest. Both the radio and her quest now do not activate until the player leaves the vault. I remember, when I was creating this.. how magical it seemed to me. I had no idea on how to set it up like that so I just made it run on game start. It's funny how much you can learn in a year. Setting this up now is an after thought.... done in 5 minutes.. :D

Please note: From this point on Ivy's quest is triggered when players enter Sanctuary.

I never met them in the wasteland, and they only talk about setting up at this garage he found.

Now I want to visit the wasteland again, it was more fun anyway (at least before Ivy), what with the brothel/skin mag publisher you can run. Modders make fallout a great game, instead of just meh.

I've been off Fo4 for a while anyway, waiting for the new Ivy.

He is too cool of a cat to talk about his father, and the Capital Wasteland is a big place! :)

but look well:

1- You can already use Heather with Ivys without any problem, Heater has a system out of the way that Ivy uses and one does not interfere with the other, without the need for any multi-follower mod.

2 - I've already had big teams with follower mods, and in the beginning it's a lot of fun to walk with Nick, Piper, Cait, a human curie, and the Codsword transformed in super robot battlefield, but ...

This breaks the grace of the game to the point of moving even needing to shoot someone when it hits some enemy or be a hell of several comments at the same time.

Another problem is that there are things that you do that will please some and displease others, always so, if you are alone with them, it is easy to have attitudes that help in their affinity

after a long time with a big group, I just walk with 3, then only with 2, and now it's just me and one more, the game seems to have more quality like that.

Today I go with Ivy alone, eventually dismissing Ivy to do some main mission and calling her back later, the game gets a lot more fluid like that and the challenge does not get too worn out.

I was cleaning the computer and unintentionally lost the folder that had months of priny saved Ivy with different clothes and faces, I would put one here to illustrate and I can not find

makes all sense.
Ivy does not yet have the external antenna of her radio mounted, she should be broadcasting the ransom request herself with a very limited range. only if you listen to her radio, and so start the mission, when already inside the sanctuary is more realistic

I just find other followers are in the way. Even Darryl from the Extended Lore Project I'm working on, who's designed to always stay out of the way, is annoying just because he's hovering there and still gets in the way. I am actually thinking of redesigning him into a ghostly hologram or something, instead of an eyebot, so it'll just float through the player and it'll seem logical.

I used to travel with Dogmeat and Ivy, but now Ivy has HyperCombat I want her alone for me completely. I like keeping my distance to see her engage in HyperCombat and the less followers you have, the more likely it is that she will engage in it.

I installed the mod with Darryl, after I saw him comment here, I found it very interesting to approach him tagalerando but hiding during a combat, but still I was not lucky to find it, I only found a holodisco provided on the RedRocket Okay ... I'm starting a new game yet.

the idea of Darryl turning a projection out of some artifact that you find and carry with you, like some additional module of projection for the pipboy, is also something very interesting.

I imagine how difficult it must be to combine the news of Ivy and her dynamics with other characters in the game, especially in hypercombat. Force it for you, Reginald.

but speaking of Ivy and some other companion, there are situations that would be fantastic if he could for example:
go along with Nick Farharbor, along with cait on the detox mission, and one more or another ....

Darryl has not been released yet. Will be after Ivy's release so perhaps not even before 2020 as that mod will still be a LOT of work.. And I'll take a short break from modding after releasing Ivy 5.0 so I have time to support it. :)

Development Update

I've been doing a lot of under the hood work on Ivy today, especially on her scripting and tweaking of quests.

I've been adding base functions to her main script that I can call from fragments, things like forcing the dialogue camera on certain things.

Perhaps the BIGGEST and most noticeable change for Ivy is in her combat dialogue.

There are actually 12 different states for combat, but because Ivy did not have checks for if she was talking, she would often never say the earlier stages of combat because she was interrupting herself with other comments from later stages in combat. (Sounds more difficult than it is). Long story short: Ivy's combat dialogue is now far more immersive, fitting and works 100% better than it does in the current release.

now I understood, I had confused myself, thinking that derryl was already part of his other mod, but in fact it is still a prototype that you are working on, ?

Okay, forget I mentioned it, and keep up the good work with Ivy, ?

Development Update

Because I am not against cheating (to a certain extent) I've added the NX-2C Cheat Terminal with which cheaters can:

- Bypass Ivy's recruitetment quest.

- Bypass Ivy's HyperCombat quest.

I have tweaked a lot of internals this morning, picking up where I left off yesterday.

I've also been adding conditionals for certain quest dialogue, so that Ivy does not initiate in this dialogue unless the player has the relevant quest active in their pipboy. For instance, if the 'Out of Time' quest is disabled, Ivy will not comment 'So, we're going to concord? What do you expect to find there?', etc..etc..

I've been looking into the motion captures that Bathesda used in certain scenes, like the opening scene with Codsworth, and Piper's Diamond City scenes. But I can't seem to figure out how they are operated. I just see the checkbox 'Has Capture' enabled, but I can't see any other links to these dialogue topics. My guess is that the topic infos are somehow linked to idles. I've been using the 'Idle animation' option inside certain dialogue topics, but its buggy as fuck. Often Ivy will repeat her lines and I don't really understand why, because I just don't understand how animation works. I'll be spending some time today finding documentation and tutorials.

Last year I worked for days on getting a hugging animation into Ivy. There are certain moments where this is required, yet I can't seem to add it 'stand-alone' into Ivy. Honestly, I haven't given it the old college try since then, so I might still, this weekend. My three greatest wishes for Ivy still remain:

- Snuggling on the couch while in dialogue camera.

- Snuggling on the bed, while in dialogue camera.

- Ivy asks a private lapdance, she tells the player to sit down on a chair, the player sits, and Ivy does her lapdance, showing off fancy moves, until the player stands up again.

Well I thought I did, but apparently the conditional I used isn't for what I thought it was at all.. and there isn't any conditional in dialogue topics for that (or I'm blind.. can certainly be the case). I have thought up of a workaround, but it requires me making a formlist of scripts and keywords and some hacky scripting to set a global so Ivy knows if quests are active in the pipboy or not (e.g. there is a (Quest.IsActive()) variable in script, so I could in theory create some script conditionals in the quest, that can be set by script as the player activates or deactivates certain quests in their pipboy).

Hi, I have downloaded the files for Ivy, getting ready to install, should I install the radio patch for the holo tape incase I need it? Think yes?!

So I think this mod will be fantastic, I have a couple questions for you or anyone ( I'm Mryodahippie on Nexus if you want to mail me a note or anything ),

I have AAF (Nexus ) Leitos animation pack (LL) & AAF compatibility patch (LL) and other various Nexus mods like Atomic Lust & such, any recommendation on triggering sex with Ivy, I've been researching mods here on LL w/ requirements & its a bit different & complex - ( compared to how ell Sex Lab, and all lovers Lab mods work great on Skyrim SE ) so I was wondering about recommended F4 mods with F4 compatible requirements together to install, for sex animations, as well as some erotic quests like ( Flower Girls & Amorous Adventures Skyrim Se  type mods ) for Fallout 4.

I have built my mods and am testing , getting ready for a clean NEW play thru, deleting all saves and starting a new game, hoping to really test functionality of mods including the new Fusion Girl Body ( its great with Radiation queen skin 2K head 4K body for my mid range computer )

What mods here on LL or Nexus would compliment Insane Ivy, I think she will be the best mod I install.

Also for Ivy to function she goes close to top in load order, above ACKWR & such correct.

Does Ivy come pre build ready to go after installing, or do I need to body slide anything?

Thanks I can't wait to play with myself, I mean play with her, Muahahaaa !

Have a groovy weekend !

^Check the FAQ on page 1 (Post 2). :)

She doesn't need BodySlide. And a radio patch shouldn't be needed, only install it if the radio doesn't work after the recruitment phase.

Development Update

Crazy good modding day for Ivy. I've been adding small talks between Ivy and the player, after the player picks up lore items and books about her past life. I had to create a system where the book uses OnRead to start a scene, which in turn checks which book was read by reading a global. Basic but works like a charm and is easy to extend.

I can show you the scene now as not much has been filled yet, it will be though.

If you ever looked at Ivy's quest in the CK you can see in the scroll bar, and, a lot of scenes have been added. ?

All dialogue below is dependent on conditionals, and (as usual) Ivy's dialogue will divert depending on her affinity for you.

(If anyone can name the reference (hint, the second name is misspelled), they will receive a golden cookie)

Thanks, quick reply, so If I read, & re read correctly, I'm good to go right out of the box !

The radio is a just in case file, so with Ivy_base & Game_chic files, im all set to install, test, get new Kleenex & re test :joy:

Thanks !

Development Update

Major updates to Ivy's base framework.

A new 'master' holotape was added and finished today, exposing all of Ivy's internals (mostly to help me debug). There's a factory reset option in there, that resets everything 'Ivy' to default and dismisses her as companion. You can also use it to check (and set) all of her internals like affinity, irritation etc...

This is a full-on cheat so I'm not sure yet if I am shipping this during release...

Her affinity systems is now 99.9% in place:

- Affinity runs from 0-80 (as it did before)

- Major Affinity raise events happen at 5,10,20,40,60 and 80.

- Affinity messages kick off.

Ivy now has a fully implemented 'Irritation' system:

1) Each time the player says no to her requests, or is evil to her, her irritation rises with a point.

2) Once Ivy reaches 'Irritated' stage, her irritation can CONTINUE to rise up to a 'max level'.

3) Players can apologize by being kind to her. (e.g. once her irritation is out of irritated stage and flirting is back, the players can flirt (a lot) to slowly grind to an apology. 10 flirting lines e.q. -1 apology point). But only for the (random) lines in which the player compliments Ivy, other flirty remarks do not count. (e.g. players need to compliment her a lot)

3a) Doing Major things for Ivy (e.g. running any of her major or radiant quests) resets her irritation to MaxLevel -1.. you can start apologizing further from there. Each major thing you do for Ivy equals -2 irritation points.

4) When Ivy reaches irritated status, all of her erotic subsystems shutdown and her Profanity filters all turn on automatically. (Will turn off if irritation stage is gone). She will inform you so, sometimes in not so kind words, when you attempt to engage these.

4a) I might add a keyword (or faction) to Ivy so that Sex frameworks can exclude her automatically when she is in irritated stage. If someone can point me in the direction?

5) Depending on Affinity level, Ivy will respond appropriately if the player asks her about their relationship and she is irritated. The higher the affinity level is, the more disappointed she will be if the player irritates her (just like in real life).

6) Asking 'How do you feel about us' when Ivy is in an irritated stage will always lead to an apology scene, where the players can try to apologize to Ivy, using a high difficulty level speech check (depending on current irritation level). This option is available only once, each time Ivy has become irritated. If Ivy is irritated because of a refused quest, she will once again offer the player to do the quest for her.

Radiant Affinity Quests

Another good way to apologize to Ivy (or simply make her happier) is to find lore about her past life as Deborah in the Wasteland. For each book that you find (at random places) a minor scene will play (see post from yesterday) and -1 irritation points are awarded.

Control Scenes / Script / HyperCombat Indoor Teleport Range

I've invented a way of passing conditionals only exposed to the Dialogue Conditional system into script.

In this case, Ivy needed to know in script whether the player is indoor or outdoor (for her hypercombat quest) and there is no such function. When the player enters a new location, a control scene is run in the background, which sets globals, based on Conditionals. Now Ivy's indoor teleporter range is automatically adjusted for indoor and outdoor use.

ESP Modding Templates

Instead of releasing Ivy's source code, a modding template will be released with a control quest with which many aspects of Ivy can be controlled. This way I can implement anti-cheat measures into Ivy's base code, without the fear of anyone with source access bypassing them, while still making Ivy fully modifiable for those that want to customize her.

Posted

Ok.. so before I put a huge amount of work into this...

If there was an option to play 'Hide & Seek' with Ivy.. would people like that? I mean.. is it worth investing 1 or 2 days of work?

I'm interested in making this quest as it will allow me to learn certain skills I feel are lacking in my palette.

But it is quite a lot of work and I'm not sure yet if I can really make it work, but I'm thinking about a dialogue option where the player can play Hide and Seek with Ivy.

First, Ivy closes her eyes, counts to 10, then tries to find the player. Then when she finds them (e.g. package has completed) the player closes their eyes (by making the screen black) and Ivy teleports to a random location somewhere in the vicinity, so that they need to find Ivy (engaging in conversation finishes the game).

Posted

Sounds interesting, maybe hide a game of hide and seek would help alleviate her irritability & some sort of calm down happiness effect could make her less & less angry, just a thought. I just got Ivy installed after a big hiccup with a new game that altered pre war sanctuary with a nudist colony, and got stuck, uninstalled it, started a fresh new game, and am still leaving the vault, so if you have updates to ivy, I would love to test them, as I haven't met her yet, is there a preview, even if we didn't guess the reference for a golden cookie ! ?
