So, I installed Devious followers SE. I tried to fix my FNIS issue I described in another thread, and I went back in to play the game.  In exploring the Devious Follower capabilities somewhat, I had Leah give me a chastity harness. (note, before this everything was working.) The harness clipped. and clipped badly. Nothing in the front below her breasts was visible.  OMG WTF?  I hadn't even built anything new in bodyslide. A tense exploration through my inventory of bondage gear (and since bondage lover is checked, I have nearly everything) revealed that now chastity belts, bras, restrictive corsets, and  the thighs on restrictive boots, and leah's formal latex boot stockings, are all broken, but were working earlier. 

 

I hopped out of game and rebuilt all of those items, without morphs. still clipping. I rebuilt with morphs again. I was so frustrated at this point that I directly expanded the DCL New CBBE zip directly into the data folder manually, overwriting everything, and then rebuilt again. Still broken. 

 

At this point....can you at least let me know which are the latest slidersets, and nifs for those items?

 

Gonna try reverting the FNIS sexy walk rule. I doubt it will work, ….but I'm pretty sick of fighting with this and having it break for no apparent reason

The DD_DCL_New_CBBE.7z is the latest I know of. You could try making sure the bodyslide patch is overwriting devious followers too - it might include some stuff that's overwriting the patch.

Secondly, several months ago I was randomly playing around, having fun with one of my saves with no intention of actually saving my progress. I was in a dungeon somewhere and out of nowhere, the "A Damsel in Distress" quest procced. I had messed around in my save too much to consider saving my progress and trying the quest out, so i reloaded. I have never seen it happen since. Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of getting this to happen because I really want to try it out, but can't figure out how to force it. I was equipped with a lot of rubber gear at the time, but in repeated efforts to duplicate the circumstances in which it started, I have yet to have it happen again.

Make sure you've got either the DDHOTFIX or the HDT patches installed. The HDT patches only work with HDT SMP. Followers going invisible is there since LE and related to HDT.

If she's still invisible, here's the workaround I found on the LE thread:

That´s 99.9% a failure in the HDT mod.

The hint some pages before stated: mark actor gone invisible (still should be possible to see/hear/interact with the actor) mark him in console. Type "setactoralpha 1" "disbale" "enable" and Chloe will reappear. It is working on any other NPC too.

 

 

For the room, it sounds like you found kimy's test cell. I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be doing anything with the girl and she's not meant to be in the game. You're on your own there. The crash is again likely related to HDT.

 

I found a comment from kimy back in October:  "Damsel in Distress got broken a while back, so it's currently disabled, as I am making up my mind what to do with it. " I don't know if it's been enabled again recently.

I've completed Chloe without any issues like that, and haven't heard of anyone else with a similar issue. Make sure you aren't speeding up the dialogue in the previous stages - something may not have completed correctly if you did that. We know speeding up dialogue affects Leon/Leah, so it's not a stretch that it would affect the Chloe quest too.

my guess on the chloe completion is it's the ..merchant...in question. I've had several quests to ...that person...where the quest complete text was late. once 3 game days late.

I somehow managed to fix everything but, once again, leah's stockings. 

I've copied the shapedata and sliderset files diurectly from the archive and into the game. At least, the files I think they are. Can you confirm please, that the 'formal latex boots' and 'working girl shoes' are built from 'CBBE FormalAffair Heels' nif and osp/osd?

 

I'd just let it go, but my stocking fetish is pretty huge.

Just to be clear on what I'm using, and to make sure I understand correctly, I am using the HDT physics engine for SSE 1.5.53 that a user posted links to on Reddit because it was so difficult to navigate the original site. The reason I'm not using the newest version is because I still have SKSE 1.5.53 because the game has not been updated from Steam since I downloaded it originally.

To make sure I understand as far as these downloads you posted, It's either the Hotfix -or- the other 3 links? I will try them out later tonight when I have more time. I'm still a newbie with some problems regarding most of this stuff, but I'm learning!

 

As far as the Damsel in Distress thing, I'm almost certain it was after October when I got it to proc, so perhaps it was just some sort of glitch and it wasn't supposed to actually happen. To whoever posted about the MCM menu option, It is certainly not there. I had looked through every menu several times before posting this and the only MCM option regarding the quest is a rare key drop modifier.

Yes, it's definitely a different version because I 100% do not have that. The odd thing about my Damsel in Distress quest is that as far as I could remember, I wasn't doing anything when it happened. I hadn't recently opened any potentially cursed containers as far as I can remember. In fact I think I was trying to struggle out of a pair of linked rubber gloves when the screen randomly went black and it started.

I'm on a new playthrough, and lucky me, the first time I sleep in a bed, I got hit wth Jack the Belter. Funny thing is I set it to not get any special quests until level 5 and I'm level 2

Sorry for the multiple posts but 3 HDT patches was exactly what I needed to fix the majority of the errors I was getting. The game was crashing upon using things like prisoner chains and stuff, and I had a couple of saves that had the bound girls set that was crashing my game when I tried to enter places like Markarth (sure enough as soon as I went in, there was a bound girl wearing prisoner chains!). I haven't tested everything yet, but what I have tried so far is working. Thank you so much for those links!

 

Edit: The HDT patches fixed all my crashes regarding the game giving me a windows crash message, but it is not addressing the game randomly shutting down with no error message. For example in testing that girl I mentioned in my first post still causes the game to close abruptly with no windows error popup. The "A Girl" character is not the only time the game shuts down on me, but it's the only thing I can reliably test it with.

Ive noticed the game will randomly ctd sometimes. I say random because the event itself is random, but once it happens the crash is repeatable. For instance, one time when I got tied up for solicitation the game would crash anytime I tried taking off one of the restraints. After reloading a recent save and getting tied up again for testing, the ctd didnt happen.

 

Only suggestion I can give you is have multiple saves, like one of you going into a town or before you do something you think might be stupid. That way if something happens later you only lose a little progress instead of having to restart your game. It also probably wouldnt hurt to keep your mod list on the low side so you can easier follow updates.

Do keep in mind SSE hasnt been out all that long compared to the Original LE, so people are still fixing frameworks, putting out fires, and trying to successfully convert old mods... plus its not like any of those old mods didn't have bugs already which complicate things further. It's just the price you pay for modding really.

Would it be possible to verify these steps or provide a guide for dummies on what exactly to do?

Ok.

 

Why am I suddenly getting "fast travel is unavailable from this location" results. I have fast travel disabled during quests only. But I'm getting that message more often than not. I kinda understood it while I was doing Chloe's quest, but I finished it.

Any number of mods have options to restrict fast travel. DCL does have one for quests only, anytime restrained, and all the time. But there's mods like frostfall which do it too unless for instance you have an axe. I suggest going through your MCM and then a list of all your mods to check their download pages. See if the descriptions list anything about restricting fast travel.

...This JUST started happening (over 150 hours played on my testbed player with nothing like this happening), and I've made 3 changes. I upgraded to 8.3, added LAL and I added Devious Followers. Nothing in Devious Followers would restrict fast travel until you're significantly into debt/deals with your follower. I am not. I have 2 deals. In this playthrough, it didn't start happening until I recruited Chloe.  And when it's being applied makes no sense. I left the bannered mare at 5am, and tried to fast travel to the stables. it disallowed it. I walked through Whiterun, walked to the nearby bandit camp I had a bounty for, fulfilled the bounty, exited the dungeon, killed a dragon hanging around, and all of a sudden it would let me fast travel back to whiterun. It's either 8.3, or some strange interaction between DCL and FA.

 

I'm already significantly honked off about the built in combat fails it appears are in this version.

Out of a D.A.M.N. box I got a pair of combat stilletos. Now I can't swing a sword without falling on my ass, dropping my sword and being forced to surrender.  Even lowering trip events to 1% didn't significantly reduce the effect, I'd bust my ass 4 out of 5 fights, and had to disable them entirely. Now getting hit by power attacks are making me drop my weapon. Not what I signed up for, very frustrating. Especially when it's a stupid wolf.  (In the fight I just nerdragequit over, I got hit by a power attacked by a wolf, just happened to have been hitting q when it happened, reequipped my soulsucking mace, and killed the wolf. The game STILL forced my surrender, and locked me in paw mittens, a gag, shackles, and ballet boots. When the enemy A) had no opposable thumbs, B) No sexual interest in my char, and C) was dead.

Actually this might be relevant to you too then. I was talking to the mod person of DF about another problem I had with the mod and 8.3 and she thought maybe it was some sort of compatibility issue with DF and 8.3


As far as combat surrender, I suggest disabling the whole thing about being disarmed. It doesnt work well in my experience, never has.

 

As far as the hotkey for surrendering, I suggest changing it to something else. I made mine G, for give up~ ? easy enough to remember, harder to hit by accident

I don't know if it was fixed in the post but is there a fix for the leah blackface bug? I dropped the .nif files posted here but it did not work. Did anyone find a fix?

Could be right. Maybe Im thinking of older versions of CL. I coulda sworn it was in the rape menu under combat attacks. In fact I dont see any option at all for being disarmed in combat so maybe its one of your other mods since I dont get disarmed in mine. Either way I remember having some setting where you could get disarmed and drop your stuff on the ground. But skyrim doesnt like doing that cuz sometimes it falls through the floor and ya use it forever. So I disabled all disarming options in my game and made anything that would disarm me just unequip it instead. Maybe that problem has been fixed in SE but I figure its best to avoid it just in case.

 

However, in case you missed it, theres a way to avoid dropping things when hit by traps under misc options in the CL MCM. Just click the option "Unequip instead of drop". Maybe thats what ya meant, tho I dont think that has anything to do with combat unless your looting bodies in combat or something and trigger one. Maybe its a new feature tried to the trip random event?

I've been set to 'unequip' since I started fiddling with DCL. And I had to set trip events to 0 just to be able to fight.  I'm about to toss this playthrough and try something else.

 

Edit: I tried to force both my fast travel and tripping issues. I managed to do both. Neither is mentioned in the papyrus log.

I have an issue where when I try to enter the Blood and Silver Inn while the Jack the Belter Quest is active, the game will freeze briefly. I suspect this happens to be the inn Jack is currently at, since I can enter other inns just fine, and a separate playthrough allowed me to enter. Can anyone else confirm if this is just an issue with Blood and Silver specifically, or if it's a more general issue?

I seem to be the only one having this issue where the gloves clip past the arms.

 

The item in question seems to be any long rubber gloves.

I found them in Deviously Cursed Loot\Meshes\Devious\CursedLoot\mxw_catsuit\ as long_gloves_0 and long_gloves_1 and bodyslide has no effect on these.

 

Help would be appreciated.

Sorry, between headaches and work, i haven't been on recently. You know you can open the osp in a text editor, right? :)

 

Formal latex boots and working girl's heels use dcur_formal_bootsAA (nsfwmods\skyriml&rcollection\formalaffair\heels_1.nif)

 

CBBE FormalAffair Heels.osp

DCL base requirements aren't changing, so it usually doesn't matter what version you have. What you have there is what someone did in order, and even he admits that some things may not have been necessary.

 

You have two paths:

 

If you don't use HDT SMP

Get the DDHOTFIX. have it overwrite the files after running bodyslide. This is because the heretic stuff in bodyslide will overwrite the hotfix. Alternately, delete the heretic projects like I mention below.

For people resharing these links - DISCLAIMER!!!!

Please be aware the HDT patches are done to prevent crashes and to simply get HDT SMP enabled. The chains should all have physics now, but there are visual gaps where the chains appear broken. We've done our best, but we are not experts on creating and editing nifs. We don't know why the meshes appear broken in game in SE and look fine in LE. These files are provided as is. I will try to fix it if you can confirm something is still crashing for you, but I can't get everything to look like it's hooked together. Pfiffy and I have tried for months.
 

For the Heretic stuff - if you delete the Bodyslide information for the boots and gloves, and install at least the DD HDT, you should not need DDHOTFIX.

Those facegen files in the patch are for the chloe  quest only. For other black face bugs, try this first:

If  that doesn't work, you have some NPC replacer that is causing issues. You'll probably have to modify your load order to fix it.
