Ken896 Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Ivy is BRILLIANT. Everything works (i'm still on version 2). I always thought I was odd but listening to Ivy it seems a lot of males have similar thoughts. Reginald_001 has done a lot of hard work to get Ivy working this well. I thoroughly recommend this mod to anyone. You won't be sorry. I just need to work out how to get version 3 working. 1

On a clean save it's only a matter of unpack and be done with it. After playing with Ivy for a couple of days I feel she needs a lot more combat dialog. After a while I'm hearing repeats and it's bothering me so I'll dedicate the evening to adding 100 extra lines related to combat dialogue. I'm removing the 'One batch, two batch penny and a dime' line. I've spent my afternoon debugging her radiant quests and finally found one minor mistake in my code which stopped the radiant quest counter from counting, never triggering a quest. (!!! Quest.IsRunning() is NOT reliable !!!) After switching the script condition to look at my own stage counter global variable this now works perfectly. After 20 'chats' Ivy asks for righteous revenge on some mid-level raider somewhere. I'll expect to release these fixes very soon (v3.1) No new game will be needed for this 'patch'. 2

I was going to ask about that... I had been playing for some time, and held many conversations with her, (as well as performed many "liked" and "loved" activities like computer hacking or lockpicking), but when I performed getav ca_affinity on her, it was always at 0.00. I was beginning to thin that I was missing something subtle yet obvious or some such. I tried to check out the mod a bit in the CK, but my experience with quests and scripts beyond Oblivion is novice at best, and destructive at worst. Thanks indeed for the very good companion mod. Version 3 was the first on I actually installed; I started a new game just for it and it's very well done, well worth re-grinding levels just for her commentary and conversation. I especially like some of the more acerbic comments she makes to the more traditionally annoying NPCs! 1

In the end her affinity should work like this: - Amount of chats with Ivy > Real Affinity. - ca_affinity will go from -1500 (evil) to +1500 (good). This will depend on the players play style. Really, the 'ivy loves' messages are just for show at this point. In the future they will not be affirmations of what Ivy likes or not. But rather of what she learns. If you are good to people she will become more good, if you are bad to people she will become more bad. Instead of 'Ivy Hated that' when you murder someone, it will read 'Ivy is learning from your bad influences'... Having a purely good or purely bad Ivy should prove a different play style. For instance an evil Ivy might cause more radiant bad customer quests, or other issues, but an evil Ivy could bring in a lot more caps.. cause she, you know, steals from her customers. A good Ivy would give other benefits, like more romantic lines, better paying customers that cause less trouble, etc.. 20 minutes ago, Stiffon said: Check Flashy's guide to FP - it is at least up to date! https://www.loverslab.com/topic/96215-tutorial-four-play-installation-guide-for-beginners/ Yup it's the next thing on my list. Just finished grinding through 122 combat lines. I added all of the original Synth combat lines as well, but with an added audio effect to reflect the original Gen 1 synths, retaining Ivy's voice. These original synth lines are all conditioned to be spoken at a chance of less than 20%, just to give players some reminder that she is in fact a spruced up Gen 1, mixed with an organical brain, stuck inside a Gen 2 body. In case anyone is wondering, I created all of her dialogue using a program I wrote in VB, tailored to this end. In the beginning I found myself making lots of phonetic adjustments to get stuff right, for instance 'Penetrate', 'Pussy' and 'Anus' are impossible for the voice engine to pronounce (I wonder why) but when I change these to 'Penny Trait', 'Pussee' and 'Anas' then suddenly the pronunciation works. So my program automatically changes a lot of words and syllables to phonetics so that the voice engine can pronounce them better. It was actually quite some work to get it going and working right. Then when I record. I press the 'record' button in the CK and immediately press the 'speak all' button on my app... 2900 times.. (plus say 1500 retries)... 4
Sierra 21 Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Hi Reginald_001, Been thoroughly enjoying my game with Ivy with me and having heard some of Ivy's background story memory files I'm learning that she has a more tragic back story than Cait and makes it more where Ivy is precious to me despite her being a Fembot originally. I actually view Ivy more a victim of circumstance then even Kellogg. I cannot get over how much work you have put in to her to make her as real as possible. To her lines about cooking for me to wanting me to better my armor for my sake she is totally precious. Her dialogue is completely unbelievably brillant. I also love how you improved her looks. In the earlier versions I used a preset but with Ivy 3.0 she is fantastic. The only thing I changed was her hair to one of Azar's short hair #2 or was it 7 any who she is totally a masterpiece and with you always improving her and making her that much special she is truly a one of a kind that I don't see being surpassed anytime in the near to far future. She is the pinnacle of a companion and she has set so many high standards that other companions feel pretty much cookie cutter repeats compared to Ivy. 2

Stiffon Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 @Reginald_001 - would you consider at some point down the line, when you feel Ivy is complete, providing an option to reduce the OP of her revolver? Or an option to swap it out for a lesser weapon or similar? There are times that I leave her behind simply because I don't want her decimating the enemy in the first minute of the encounter lol - and I have PANPC installed, which makes enemies' AI a lot more real. 1

Sure I'll look into it! I think I can simply make a second weapon, the same model but less damage, and have her equip that depending on an option you set in her controller holotape. I think the real thing that makes her so dangerous though is her precision. Both her gun and her NPC have higher precision than regular as I wanted her to shoot as straight as an improved courser, so all of her shots count a lot more. So I guess her 'lesser' gun should be less precise and less damaging. Also, she has the pistol perks... those do a lot.. So I'll also have to remove those then.. if you set this option in the holotape, of course. Also, you could try fiddling with her combat style. If you set it to anything other than 'default' in the holotape, that should lower her precision. If you set it to melee, she'll prefer melee, if you set it to 'tank' it should make her less precise. Of course, you can also equip her with a 10mm. Personally though, I can't get enough of seeing Ivy take one headshot after another... 1
kittylover Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 I might understand something wrong, so have to ask. NexusModManager simply doesn't allow me to put Ivy (esp) above Spring Cleaning (esm). Do I get something wrong? And is this nescessary at all if starting with new game? I can't try it right now, waiting for update of f4se (and probaly mcm, etc.). Thanx. Though if I can simply give her a different weapon and she will use that (and not default back to her Dirty Harry Hand-cannon), then there is really no need for you to do anything! I thought I read somewhere that she would only use her weapon - my bad! I'll try that - thanks again! PS - I do like her 1 shot BAM!, but sometimes I also like a good 'ol fashioned firefight - young guns style!

I saw you post that Ivy can be found at the workbench in Sanctuary, however, I can't find her. I know everything installed correctly as I get the quest for Ivy, but the radio channel doesn't have anything playing. Also, if I use the placeatme command to generate a copy of Ivy, she appears but doesn't respond when I attempt to talk to her.
UriasB Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Spoiler If you have the last one, she's in the hiden basement in concord 1
DominusKaine Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 So I finally made it down to GoodNeighbor with v3.0, and here come some issues. Nobody would talk to me in GN with Ivy as a current companion. Tried dismissing her, but she wouldn't leave GN. That might've been because I was trying to send her to an addon settlement (Mystic Pines). Either way, she stood around in GN, and I still couldn't talk to anyone regardless of whether they were in GN proper, the Old Statehouse, or Ken in the Memory Den. Reloaded to just outside of GN, dismissed Ivy to Red Rocket (successful) and proceeded into GN. Finally, I'm able to interact with the NPCs in GN. Didn't have this issue prior to v2a and never made it to GN while on v2a, so not sure where in there it broke. What I did notice was that the original dialogue would flash for a split second, but then get replaced with a generic/dead-end dialogue. It appears to be a priority-related issue, but only happens on the first initialization of dialogue with the NPC in question. Subsequent inits automatically go to the dead-end dialogue. Sold my loot and left GN. Summoned Ivy to me via holotape, and can't re-recruit her—same "Hey -> What's going on?" deadend dialogue as the GN NPCs. Had to reset her via holotape to get her back as companion. Wierd issues, for sure. Anyways, I hope the info helps. 1

You may want to explore other scrap mods as Spring Cleaning has far too many restrictions to run with mods that have other scripting within the same cells that SC operates. Being that your particular version of SC has a master file over which Ivy cannot be placed, it will be impossible to make Ivy play nicely with the mod installed, unless you can find the scripting that is incompatible and make fixes. (NOT recommended unless you know what you are doing) If you really want to have Ivy as a companion (and who doesn't! ), may I suggest Scrap Everything instead which is far more powerful and has more compatible functions with other mods? Check it out here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5320. I had to make the change from SC to SE about a year ago and haven't had one problem with mod compatibility since. Hope this helps. Please let Reginald_001 know. 1
420BonerHitler Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Man I thought this was gonna be another one of those "try, turns out it's bad, then throw it out" kinda mods, but the dialogue is actually pretty good! Yes it isn't a human, but it is coherent and much better than silence imo. Love the joke about putting a ghoul penis in Preston's sandwich lol poor bastard 2

chuckdm Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Ok so this may be heresy or something, but someone has to ask, so here goes...at some point, whenever Ivy is considered "stable" or such, could you have an optional file (or a config option or whatever) to omit her SCAT lines? I mean, I really like Ivy, but everyone has their own preferences and mine is "no SCAT" so I have to ask. Also keep in mind, this is a game wherein a fisting robot is actually canon. You could replace the SCAT lines with more BDSM-themed things. But again, optional. I know some people like that stuff and nobody else should be deprived just to make me happy. Well...except Ivy 1

Well...except Ivy Use the profanity filter, it was designed for just that. (I'll look into a separate filter for piss/scat) (edit: 1 hour later) It was easy to implement the 'extreme profanity' filter. I was looking to fill the 'get naked' option anyway as I didn't like it and never used it anyway. It's been implemented and will be part of the next release. I'm going over the dialogue now to add it wherever she uses such lines. ps: She is 100% stable right now. All issues mentioned so far are related to other mods, misbehaving.

You are the second person to note an issue inside Goodneighbour but there is nothing with or in Ivy that could account for this behavior. Her factions and keywords are the same as other companions, so it's a load order thing, but I need to figure out where and what goes wrong for this to happen (e.g. debug the other mod that's causing this). 15 hours ago, BringerOTBD said: esp files cannot be placed above esm files, under any circumstances. @Reginald_001 I have a bit of a problem. Instead of placeatme you would need to use 'moveto', placeatme creates an internal copy/reference which is what you do *not* want. You shouldn't use placeatme for anything other than for non-unique NPC's (e.g. unnamed NPCs such as settlers), items you can pick up, or statics you want to place and create in game. You cannot use placeatme on companions or Ivy, because Ivy is a unique NPC. As her quests are related to the NPC placed inside the root cellar, this command would fail where moveto will work. But... having said all that. If you listen to her radio channel and activate her redeem quest, your quest pointer should lead you straight to her!
