Cci Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Thanks for your quick answer Reginald. I am downloading 'Commonwealth cuts' as I write this. I like to have her as MM look a like. Again... Great Job!  PS: just so you know, when I said: I broke all the rules... I did. I updated from 1.5 without starting again. She is (last version 2.0a) second last mod on my list just on top of colour map, with over 200 mods above her. Including all the ones you menschen not to be above. To top that I run with another 10 chicks under Unlimited companion network. And YES, they all work fine. (sometimes it does take a bit of time, mind you) Looking forward towards anything else coming from you! Stay Well! Â

(sometimes it does take a bit of time, mind you) Looking forward towards anything else coming from you! Stay Well!  I'm really happy to hear she works. Fallout's engine is actually built really very well. I've worked with the Quake, Source, Doom 3 and Unity engines extensively before this and I continue to be impressed by how easy it is to mod things. There's just a steep learning curve, but this is the case for most engines. But despite all that, compatibility with other mods remains an issue. Much less so, by the way, than for other engines such as the Doom 3 engine. Where you could basically just run 1 mod at a time.  But... Ivy may 'function' but there is a chance she might not 'excel'. Ivy has separate chat quests, events and other additions to add to the overall experience. I'm curious to know if, for instance, you've had her do the chats with the bartenders? Does she comment and participate inside main quest lines? Does she comment if you are outside in the commonwealth, without any normal triggers like dusty places, etc..?  If she doesn't do these things, you might want to dismiss all companions, recruit Ivy first, then re-recruit the other companions. 1
valc Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Thanks for the quick response re the sleep thing.  My load order was OK, but there was a conflict with See You Sleep animations. So, disabling the animations (which are sort of the whole purpose of See You Sleep, right?) solved the problem. I just have to decide if keeping SYS is worth anything.  One thing is for sure, Ivy is staying. Thanks for your work on this great mod! 2

I know it doesn't replace the SYS mod, but there is a reasonable alternative mod which makes beds (double or single) able to be assigned with passive markers for both player and settler/partner and does have animation for "waiting" rather than sleeping for your pc. Check it out here:  https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17521  Super glad you're keeping Ivy too. 1
Reginald_001 Posted March 29, 2018 Author Posted March 29, 2018 So I'd landed in some kind of debug loop with her radiant bad customers quest. Either she kept continuing to thank you for it, or she kept giving the quest, even though it was already running. I think the conditions for 'getQuestRunning' are just not functioning right. So I switched to 'getStage='.. same results. Â After hours and hours of testing, looking at other radiant quests, etc..etc... I finally just went back to my own good old programming knowledge. I simply created a global int, defining which state her radiant quest currently is in, and set it at the start of any stage of the actual quest. When I check the conditions in the dialog against that global, suddenly everything worked like a charm again. Â The moral of the story is, I'm moving most of her variables that are important (e.g. how much you talked to her, radiant quest counters, etc..etc..) into globals. I also redid all of Ivy's 'Combat, player is lockpicking, loot dead corpse, eat corpse, player hacked computer, etc..etc..' dialog, since she was still speaking this at the old slower speed. It meant redoing around 250 lines of dialog.

Even if she kills it, she tends to not return to her original location. If so, you'll have to console her to your location.  You can easily find any companion's RefID (vanilla or custom) as long as they have a companion quest which most do otherwise they won't work at all. Open console Help (the companion's name) 4 QUST like this --> Help Ivy 4 QUST Take note of the quest ID for the companion. In this case, Ivy's quest is _IvyCompQuest with a quest ID of xx000805 (xx being your load order position) SQV (the quest ID) --> SQV xx000805 (again, xx being your load order position) Look for a line with REF '(the companion's quest alias)'-> " (xx000000). xx000FF2 <-- this is your Ivy's RefID (again, xx being your load order position) xx000ff2.moveto player and now Ivy (or whichever lost companion) is right there with you v2.0 appears to be running fine so far in my game. I'm guessing the "location which shall not be named" will come later after @Reginald_001 has completed her origin questline.  I did come across that same unvoiced dialogue line about "He was a maniac..." again. It's in her Flirt tree and does not coincide with any location nor quest triggers. Also, no issues regarding the edited vanilla quests. Interjections fire off just fine without any apparent issues. "Earned caps" is working good. I would suggest possibly integrating an automatic payment during the daily settlement reset, if it's possible, or maybe just start her own custom timer to automatically pay you your share daily/weekly.... or.... just leave it so we have to talk to her cuz she's just sexay n cool like dat!   So it took me a week or two. But I finally found the 'maniac' line. Having over 2600 lines of dialog makes it difficult to track one erroneous line down. She says this line when you enter any workbench (armor/weapon/chem station)... Fixed!  6 hours ago, figarodlc said: Both your Research and Development and your Quality Assurance departments are doing the lord's work, my friend. Reginald_001 Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 So I did a full day of dialog recording today, despite a terrible migraine it was pretty productive. Added 332 new lines of dialogue to the 'your thoughts' and 'service menu' and 'generic idles' topics (it would have easily been 500 had I not had the migraine). Ivy now has a whopping 2.756 unique lines of dialogue. Most of it is quest and locational related. Her 'your thoughts' now has over 140 unique thoughts/lines. Â Note that a lot of dialogue is unlocked only after Ivy's affinity has gone up! Â She is now basically aware of any interior location you take her to, and is often even helpful as she can scan ahead, telling you what to expect as you head inside.. sometimes offering some lore about the place, sometimes wanting to simply fuck you.. Â I am expecting to release Ivy 3.0 this weekend. So get your tissues ready and start clearing out to save games... Â ps: I should've never versioned her like this, with all the features still planned for her it actually seems like a 1.0 release. 4
Prolific Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 This mod is bloody brilliant! Fresh fucking air in Fallout, thank you! 2
Sierra 21 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Hi Reginald_001,  First I just cannot thank you enough for the gift of Ivy. She is without a doubt the best companion mod I have ever used. I have tried almost every companion mod and Ivy is so spectacular that I I even retired Heather as she was good but Ivy is just so much more lovable. She may have a synthesized voice but I swear there are times she feels more real than the human voiced companions. I always get warm and fuzzy when she say's she loves me and I felt so bad which I have never felt with any other companion about joining the brotherhood as I have when my Ivy started to talk about how she felt threatened by them and wanted to make sure I would keep her safe. I have now serious reservations on that faction now. I know she doesn't like the railroad either and I don't blame her cause I don't too. I haven't gotten to the institute yet so I am unsure how she feels about them and she seems neutral about the minimen. I am totally torn.  I noticed that when I suited up in power armor she hated it but said she gets hot seeing me suit up. Is that a glitch?  I cannot wait for Ivy 3.0 as I don't think I will be joining the brotherhood on that one as I know how she feels. I also disable her prostitution mode as soon as I get her as she is mine and I can get caps for both of us. Ivy has completely changed how I play fallout and do not even bother picking up the other companions because they cannot come near Ivy. She is basically a masterpiece and for me has set a new bar in the companion realm.  Once again thank you so much for Ivy and all the hard work and updates to her as well as keeping us in the loop on her development.   PS: I was wondering if Ivy has a perk whenever max affinity is reached?  2

You get Ivy's perk as soon as you pick her up. Check your perks tab for info. The perk for maximum affinity is new dialogue... and perhaps another perk in the 3.0 release... Her comments on power armor usage have change somewhat since v.2.0a, they didn't really work. But Ivy is also torn because she does like you in Power Armor, it just freaks her out because she has PTSD over losing what she calls her brother, during a Power Armor malfunctioning of the Fusion Core. More on that in v3.0 in her Service menu > Memory archives.  (note that as of 3.0 if you have turned off her prostitution, she will no longer give you 'bad customer' radiant quests, a new feature of v3.0) (also note, for clarity that v3.0 has NOT yet been released. ) (ps: This little sneaky code has given me the migraine, I think: && pAO_Companion_Bar.IsRunning() == False It turns out the Quest.IsRunning() function and condition are both assholes that don't return proper statuses)

Guest Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 so none of the girls from LL are interested in recording her voice from a text file and send it to Reginald_001 ?

Hey thanks for the offer, but I've been down this road and I'm sticking with the current voice for now. Cci Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Hay! To answer your question: I haven't seen her talk to bartender, but she comments  on locations, danger & fights (during & after). I am keeping an eye on her... I am used to with 10 girls around. Some even interact with each other. I will ask you if I bump into something odd. But I will try your idea before asking. Offcourse that will be BIG can of worms in itself because some of them can't be terminated, but that is my cross to bare. For me, to go around with characters that act like real people is GREAT +  PS: v3.... WoW, you are on fire. I just started v2. Great going. 1
Prolific Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I think her voice suits her perfectly. Â Edit: Besides with the way you are doing it, you don't have to worry about the voice actress being apprehensive about lines, corrections, she's out of town for a month, etc. What you are doing and the way you are doing it is perfect. 1
Reginald_001 Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 IVY COMPANION VERSION 3.0 RELEASED The best version of Ivy yet! So much more features! 4
Prolific Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Congratulations on release! I'm looking forward to trying her out. My debate at the moment is whether to try the clean save thing or start over. I have not been farther away from Sanctuary than Ten Pines, so starting over wont be that big of a deal, however if I can clean save and perhaps even clean my save, I'm tempted to try that. Â The Hair Dye portion of the requirements for the alternate Ivy, what exactly do I need there? Â Thanks very much for sharing your hard work with us. 1
