theblacksmith Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Yeah, I've checked the cave. Two female miners, plus Betty and Veronica (ICWUDT!). The death toll stands at 9 people: 2 miners (male), 5 militia members (4 male, 1 female), Bill, and Sheriff Lawson. Is someone missing, or is the quest broken? EDIT: Found another female militia member stuck behind one of the houses. Blowing her head off didn't fix anything.
Guest user29 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Sounds like you're missing the two militia members that patrol around riverside. I believe 11 is the number of deaths needed.
Bashis Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 If you can' date=' set stage to 42 and iLegionDeathCount to 5. When you kept spawning Dead Sea's you kept increasing the kill count so it never equaled 5. I'll think of a better way to do it if the NCR has taken over. Just typing out loud as well: My basic idea was to set things up so that the player's role in your plugin is filled by someone else, another "breeder". The Player would go to Riverside and realize something was wrong and they'd have to poke around for clues to identify which person is trying to corrupt the residents. When the player confronts them, the deathclaws attack. The player can try to defend the town; if they succeed the deathclaws will try again in, say, a week, and if the player's not there they automatically win, allowing the plot to continue. The player can lose and surrender, in which case they have to escape (again), or they can just run away and the plot continues. Similar approaches would be taken with the rest of the points, culminating in the final defeat of all the deathclaws in place of their final victory. Perhaps the player would be in charge of planning an NCR attack and would have to do recon in some way. Maybe they sneak around looking for weak points, or maybe they go in undercover for a while, with all that would entail. Still opportunities for sex, it's just not the focus, which honestly tends to be my preference. Sounds fun. Lucy best fits the role of player replacement, but she's not a breeder. Sam is a breeder, but if you're playing a character that opposes this, chances are Sam agrees with you. Would probably just have to make your own character for it. ok i know the command to setstage, but what would i type into the console for the iLegionDeathCount?
Guest user29 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I'm not sure. It's a quest variable. I assume it's possible to change quest variables.
Bashis Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I'm not sure. It's a quest variable. I assume it's possible to change quest variables. couldnt i just set it to whatever the next step is, im guessing 43, and skip the leigon death toll?
theblacksmith Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 After starting the clean save, several of the Riverside NPCs were still dead when I got there and I had to use the Resurrect command. Is it possible that I missed one and the body got erased, thus preventing the required body count? EDIT: Finally got the message to trigger, but now I can't find Lucy. This is, as Benny put it, "a 16-karat run of bad luck".

ChancellorKremlin Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Nevermind, I was looking in the wrong place.
theblacksmith Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Well, it took a while to get working, but the satisfaction of finally starting the update makes it worth all the trouble.
OLOsin Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Well' date=' it took a while to get working, but the satisfaction of finally starting the update makes it worth all the trouble. [/quote'] I agree. This last update was awesome even with the hiccups and bugs. When I saw the Doc at Novac sporting a big belly I cheered!! - What will happen with our new and improved deathclawlings? - What will happen to those foolishly fertile NCR troops held in the fire station? - What kind of trouble will the deathclaws cause for the folks in Primm? - Will our hero establish a deathclaw school for the gifted and hyper fertile? - Will traveling traders learn to not send their female employees to or near Novac? Only user29 and his modding band of brothers know what is next. We can only cheer them on and continue to provide USEFUL feedback!!
Guest user29 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Ok I'm building the next update in my head (just something I gotta do before I sit down to actually geck it in) and so far here's the list of stuff I want to put in + your suggestions. That I can remember. If you want to see something (repeatable) tacked onto the end of the deathclaw campaign now is the time to pitch me the idea. Or remind me if I just forgot it > More deathclaw patrols around novac > Remove the Alpha from Riverside, add sex options to the Praetorians, Incolas and the patrolers. > Repeatable (3 day cooldown) deathclaw defense missions at novac, nelson, and riverside. > At the end of a successful defense, sometimes there'll be a female NCR trooper left over. There'll be a few different conversations, but if you choose the right path through you can "break her" and she'll join the town. Otherwise she'll just turn hostile. > Add a few groups of wondering deathclaw preachers. > Sort of a repeatable mini quest with the "NCR" in the firehouse. There'll be a doctor in the basement, conversing with her will trigger a few different scenarios that can play out with those girls. I'm thinking one where they become too pregnant and you have to care for them, and another with live deathclaw births maybe? Let me know if you've got another idea for an experiment. > Assisting the girls with birth. > Assisting in knocking girls up. > Deathclaw mutation compatible armor. > Bighorner breeders That's probably about all I'll be able to get done. As I said shoot ideas at me.

Deathclaws gotta eat too!! Bighorner steaks are a Deathclaw favorite
Bashis Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I'll do one for the next update. Which one do you want? basic leather armor would be most practical for a first outfit, easy to find and not bad looking either.
Guest user29 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 the females selected for breeding cattle and bighorners in riverside and elsewere. How do you think that should be handled. It'll be easy enough to tell a few girls to hang around the bighorners, maybe sleep in the nearby house, but I'm not sure how to handle it other than that. Maybe the player should designate duties to girls after the takeover? Maybe another group shows up and the player gets to tell them how she can best use them.
eviljanitor Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 bump for page bug. However you want to handle it is fine I just remembered someone else suggesting it awhile back. (thats the only reason i posted it)

"We need more deathclaws for our armies, so find a deathclaw and get busy." "I don't like you, so a fertility shot for you and we'll take your fine little butt to the Bighorner stud for breeding. Hopefully carrying around your weight in Brahma young will teach you a lesson!" Bwahahaha!!
Guest user29 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Fantastic, Now I'm going to have some of them farming. Because they've got to eat as well. I've never played farmville, what are some other things you can do

paladuin Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 ya know the ideas being mentioned are getting awefully close to rts http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/36922
OLOsin Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Fantastic' date=' Now I'm going to have some of them farming. Because they've got to eat as well. I've never played farmville, what are some other things you can do [/quote'] Well... Farmville is more of a social networking game, but the idea is to farm things that other players may need or want. Basically a simulated agrarian market. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FarmVille What I think I am visioning is a resource management simulation that involves making the food or resources needed to maintain and further the improvement and growth an army of Deathclaws. Of course, this is a more dynamic process for the NPCs involved than what you probably have done before. In other words, to make the content more engaging, the NPCs would have to go through the motions of getting pregnant, carrying the young, and birthing as a cycle. Just like the player would. This could be on an automated cycle of course, but darn fun to watch. There would also have to be tasks to cull the herd as it gets bigger and then give the resulting steaks to the deathclaws or other breeders as needed. On the other side of the simulation, there would be a regular demand for food and resources for the Deathclaws and/or breeders to function and grow optimally. This would require making sure you have enough breeders and brahmas to keep up with demand. If you don't meet the necessary demand, the player would have to conduct other tasks to add more breeders or find more resources to improve the farming operations. I'm just brainstorming here, but such a simulation would be dramatically different from normal static and linear tasks and quests. Not far off from the housecleaning quest you created in Riverside, but on a much much larger and more dynamic scale. No need to do all of this in one update of course. The simulation can grow and change as you learn more about what may be possible in the GECK. Build it in baby deathclaw steps, and we will cum... er... come.
Guest user29 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 That level of detail I just can't do. NPC pregnancies just aren't reliable yet.
