Still not happy with it, but I probably wont be no matter what I do lol At least I got rid of a few mods I downloaded but never even used once. Spoiler

Yeah I cut a couple of those out and a couple mods like vitrium that were just needless feature creep for me.

The original birds are not NPCs either, I think, that you cannot kill them though you can shoot them with arrows and loot a corpse. If you can climb to where they have a nest or get close enough to them when they are flying, you can hop on them and ride them around.
