DIBELLA'S BLESSINGS

===================

What are you, some kind of barbarian? Don't care for armor?
-- Quintilius Sextus, Imperial Legion

You must be crazy or supremely confident to go walking around with no clothes on...
-- Haelga, Riften

This one wonders - do you have no clothes, or just like the feel of the wind?
-- Zaynabi, Caravaner

-------------------

Be a Dibellan zealot! Fight and survive without the need for armor!

It is indeed, another naked gameplay mod.

Turn the effect on in the mod config menu and:
* You will have a constant armor bonus effect to protect you. Its power depends on your Speech skill.
* Level up the speech skill as you take hits, as well as its usual increases.
* You may wear whatever armor or clothing you like as decoration, they will provide no protection.
* Light and heavy armor skills will not increase.
* You may select additional blessings from the mod config menu to replace the enchanted gear you're not wearing.
* The power of these blessing also depends on your Speech skill.
* Every 20 ranks in speech will unlock another blessing slot.

I really like the idea of this mod!

I normally don't like "play nude" mods because, well... I guess I'm just a little too into dressing up in lots of nice clothes and armors. This is a great twist on the theme by allowing for the use of armor and clothing by making them irrelevant!

I use Ordinator though, and as I saw someone mention above I guess this wouldn't be compatible because Ordinator changes the Haggling perk? Hopefully, either a patch can be made, or else maybe tie the armor to something else, like arousal or some such.

I went with Speech because it is the skill associated with Dibella via her amulets and shrines giving out huge bonuses to it, and because it does so little in the unmodded game.

An Ordinator patch shouldn't be too hard. Give me some time to get formIDs out of their files though.

Do you know about any compatibility issues with Devious Devices, Cursed Loot and similar mods?

Given that this mod doesn't force-equip or unequip anything, and even allows you to wear clothes for decoration, it should have no problems with the above.

I just had a look at Ordinator's speech tree in TES5Edit. With some interesting results.

The two speech master perks and 3 of the Shout related perks re-use the formIDs from Haggling, so taking these perks with Ordinator installed should given you the full benefit of Dibella's blessings.

Perks to Take:

00 Skill - Speech Mastery

20 Skill - Speech Mastery (2nd rank)

60 Skill - Hurricane Force

70 Skill - Thuu'm of War

90 Skill - Legend of the Dragonborn

Because the skill level requirements changed a bit, I'm inclined to release a proper patch for Ordinator still. Watch this space.

Ability to change the speech scaling multiplier for each blessing type would sure be nice for those playing with increased skill caps.

And maybe either improved fortify "magic school" effect that has both regen and efficiency, or an additional type of blessing that increases the schools efficiency.

Should the mod be repeatedly applying and reapplying the spell effect(s)?

Thanks

The attached zip file contains my papyrus log, story manager log, and load order, should you find them helpful.

I think I see what went wrong. Can you toggle all effects off, uninstall the mod, then try this updated version?

If I start a new game, it applies the blessings twice, then they stay applied (for the brief period in that new game).

When I try to remove it from an ongoing game, I had to disable each individual effect before disabling the main checkbox, or the effects would stay in place.

Update process I used: Disable the effects, uncheck the main enable checkbox, save the game, load the save into Savetool (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363), used the "Mod Editor" function to remove the scripts associated with the esp, enabled the new version, loaded the game, enable the mod in the MCM.

When I tried to add the new version to the existing game, I get stack dumps -- effects try to apply, stack dump, effects aren't applied, effects try to apply, stack dump, etc.

EDIT: out of curiousity, I opened a save file made during all the stack dumps - 181 out of 196 active scripts and all 187 scripts in the suspended stack are "nudearmorscript".

That is strange. You should only ever have one copy of that script on your character at at time.

Using the -11 version you posted above, I started a new game in a new profile (dropped Devious Devices and the mods dependent on it to reduce script load).

I'm still seeing multiple notification messages when your mod applies blessings. I'm not sure, but I believe it attempts to add all the blessings for each of the enabled blessings (if you have only the blessing of defense, you get 1 message. If you have all six blessings installed, you see 42).

Even having lightened my script load, if I enable enough blessings, I get a stack dump.

Just wondering, is there any idea when some of the bugs are gonna be fixed? I would really like to try this on a new playthrough

I'm doing internal testing on a new version I hope to release within a week.

I haven't been able to reproduce the bug where it continually reapplies too many copies of the script. @stillnofunnylogin can you make sure you're on latest SKSE version?

The update will remove the use of perks to make it compatible with Ordinator and other mods which change perks. Blessing slots will unlock as soon as you hit speech 20/40/60/80, with the first two slots unlocked at the start.

And I've found and fixed the bug which prevents you from taking most blessings in the right column of the menu.

Watch this space for the release.

Um would you ever include support for things like ordinator?

Today's update does away with the use of perks. This should let it work regardless of any perk related mods you are using.

Hi, for some reason I can't select certain blessings, for example sneaking :frown:

Fixed in today's update.

Maybe make it so you can change which levels of speech are needed for new slots to unlock in the MCM instead of static preset levels?

An expanded MCM is coming in a future release.

will this work with Perkus Maximus?

As of today's update, it should be compatible with all perk mods, as it no longer cares what perks you take.

Running 1.7.3, since it came out.

V1.2: no stack dumps so far (about 45 minutes play), last save shows only one instance each of your three scripts. I still got multiple notification messages for each blessing, though.

EDIT 01: Loaded a save with the new 1.2, got eight nine cycles of messages for seven blessings, and stack dumps. It appears you're removing and reapplying the effects, here's a typical frame from the stack dump:

EDIT 02: It's what, ten minutes later, and my notification text is still being spammed with "Blessing of ... added" notifications.  The notification log mod only tracks the last 128 notification messages, and it's completely full of blessing added messages.

EDIT 03: Once it stopped applying the blessings, it works well.

I'm trying out this mod and couldn't really see the point of only the "haggling" speech perks being used, but whatever. So I was glad to see 1.2 released with that "requirement" removed. However, it doesn't seem to work - for me anyway - as I selected the "Allure" perk, but couldn't select any new DiBella perk. So...?   Is this due to the older version as part of my save... or?
