I can think to at least 2 reasons why this can happen.

1) Certain animations are stretching / bending too much and this causes a clip

2) The weight of the body below is not the same of the weight of the armor. In this case, you could try to copy it again and cross fingers. Eventually, if the issue persists, you should tweak the weight manually, by hand.

I'm sure it's the second one, I ran on the same problem when porting some outfits and forgot to weight them to the CBBE shape. I have BodySlide conversions for this file https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/6073

I'll pack it and upload it when I get home.

You did a great thing, I added a link to your post in the OP

Sweet baby Jesus. It actually works. Mostly

I'd marry you and bear your children for this, but since I'm a dude, bearing children is not an option.

I did my best to not answer with this meme I've seen thousand times. I failed

Meme with a beard is still a meme. Also, you suffered for 6 hours before finally succumbing to the need of response. That's a feat in it's own

OK. Time to lurk again.

fallout 3 work this mod?

Theoretically it works, but it would require to properly adjust the folder names and make conversions for those armors.

Any progress on conversions?

I made 3 more conversions (enclave, kings and jailbreak rocker) but them all have issues and I still have to understand why -_-

I've downloaded the mod fine, I have the body slider with the skeleton and everything set, but there's nothing in the Outfit/Body section, I don't know if I put a folder or something in the wrong place but I cant edit or build anything.

Look at the first post, under the section Install, third point, "you can download the port package here", that's the archive containing the conversions, check if it's unzipped in the right place

hey, I'm new to modding but I'm pretty sure I extracted something to the wrong place, the studio is set to look at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide\res\skeleton_BoMo.nif, but nothing is showing up in the studio window. Is this an easy fix? I'd add a pic but my computer is being an ass.

update: I literally looked up one post. thanks guys.

update update: still no luck...

Hi.

First off, I just want to say thank you for working on this. I got used to Bodyslide with Skyrim and FO4, and I was disappointed when I started modding FNV and I found out it wasn't available. It really is a great program.

I was going through the Bodyslides that are packaged with the CBBE files and I noticed some are pretty rough. A lot of them seem to be just the vanilla meshes with CBBE sliders, and they don't conform to the body type you select at all. (This isn't meant as criticism, I know this is a very early alpha version; just an observation.) I started going through them and fixing them, and I figured I'd upload some of the first batch.

The included file is just the 6 vault suits. I included a couple pictures to show the difference. The first one is the slider preset used that the outfits are supposed to conform to. They aren't perfect, but they do work a lot better.

Spoiler

Some of the meat caps didn't have bone weights, so I added them. The meat caps on one suit were pretty f'ed up and I wasn't able to really completely fix them, but I did improve it a bit.

Anyways, thanks again, and keep up the good work.

edit: I had about 10 more outfits I was going to upload, but I forgot to back them up when I wiped and reinstalled FNV, so they're gone. (This game is a f'n crash-fest. Not sure how long I'll be playing it.) If I get around to redoing them I'll upload them if there is any interest.

Assuming I wanted to spend three days in FOEDIT is there a reason I couldn't build Easygirl sets for example against this and jam 'em into NV?

You're right, that's a perfect example of lazyness... I do my conversions in Blender, I spend a good amount of time, I care of details and all, then at the end if I have an issue and the conversion doesn't work I get very upset and start to make things like these. If you don't mind, I'll package yours in the future.

This seems a skeleton issue, I'd try to reinstall it.

I'm sorry I don't understand your question, what's Easygirl?

A very large, fairly well done armor set from HN66 for F4. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19596/ (I'm really just asking if I can use BS gen'd armor/clothing from Skyrim/F4 in NV now.)

I don't know.

Theoretically, the meshes are different and would require to make some operations to be ported correctly. Nothing too fancy, porting stuff across Beth games is not hard as porting from different games, but still I don't know if BS / OS does it for you or it would require some extra work with other tools. It's not only a matter of weight or skeleton, because those could probably be fully handled by OS itself (MAYBE, never tried something so drastic without Blender), but it's also the nif itself which has differencies. To make an example, when you port something from / to Skyrim, from / to NV or FO3, you must change the version inside the nif's header, and also remove some texture properties because those are handled in a different way. As I said, it's pretty straight for someone who uses Blender or Nifskope, but I'm not sure that OS makes this kind of conversions.

Thank you for answering, you gave me more information that I wanted to ask but wasn't sure how to word. I'll try it with something simple for fun. If it'll build across games like that, it'd be pretty amazing. (Different .nif version output from input depending on game targeted.) To be a little more on topic, I never noticed any problems with the NV CBBE bodies or the skeleton, just the normal seam stuff but no odd deformations, crashes or such.

(I made this account just for this mod oops but) I managed to get everything working after an hour of me being an idiot but my weapon and the Pip-Boy are invisible, would that have anything to do with the Pip-Boy being a modded one (Pip-Boy 2500) and the weapon being a modded one?

Edit: Vanilla weapons are invisible too, I tried with a varmint rifle and it was invisible as well. And with the Pip-Boy the menu is visible but the buttons to switch between Items, Data, and Stats are gone along with the Pip-Boy itself so I'm currently stuck in the Items section.

I don't think CBBE has anything to do with that issue. Uninstall CBBE and see if you still have the problem.

Feel free to do whatever you like with them; that's what I posted them for. :)

I hope my post didn't come across as criticism; it wasn't meant like that at all. At this stage in the game, everything is going to be rough. The way I look at it, if everyone pitches in and converts 5 or 6 outfits each, we'd be able to cover every outfit in the game in a matter of a few days. For one person to do them all on their own however, is tedious at best. It can be a frustrating process sometimes.

I haven't been messing around with BS right now, as I'm just trying to get the damn game to play nice with Windows 10, but once I do I'll upload whatever I come up with.

On a side note, do you have any advice on how to learn Blender for a complete noob? I've been messing around with it, but it is an intimidating (and not very intuitive) program to learn. If you could point me in the direction of a good solid concise tutorial or two, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again for all your hard work.

Regards,

Langeston

this is a bit of a warning for all of you who decide to use this then uninstall it. you will have to remove all of the files from the vitual folder if that doesnt work you have to clean install your game and mm.

It creates nif armor replacers for vanilla armors, so you just need to remove those (inside \meshes\armor)
