I wanted to add the erotic mods to my version of darkest dungeon but there are just too many. And I can't tell whats broken, what works and what requires extra work to make work. Could anyone post just a recommended list of mods to install and any notes on what to do?

Modding tips:

As a general rule make sure your putting stuff into the mod folder and not overwriting the base game files. DD mods are pretty simple, they are mostly just a folder containing the files they add using the same file structure as the game itself. If two mods overwrite the same thing the mod higher in your load order wins.

 

You can tell if a download is designed to work as mod if it has a project.xml and a preview_icon.png in it. If your download is just the lose files on their own, there's two easy fixes, either move the files into the folder of a working mod, or copy the project.xml from and existing mod then use a txt editor to change the mod name in the xml.

 

Don't worry about having to get everything perfect right away DD is pretty forgiving about adding and removing mods mid game.

 

Recommendations:

The big one is Lustiest Lair which re-flavors most of the game to be about sex, and includes custom lewd enemies, trinkets and bosses. If you downloaded the mods from LL's recommended files section you will be mostly set for lewd, enemies and town NPC's. If you don't like the town NPCs that come with LL there's plenty of other versions around. Don't bother with the individual lewd class trinket mods as the author has since added an all in one version.

 

Darkest Desire adds lewd camping skills and has support for most the more popular custom classes.

 

For lewd hero skins you generally have two options, skins that use the vanilla animations and skins like Nuir's skins or skins that use a custom animation set like Xelsword's. If your going to go for Nuir skins I would avoid downloading them from the nexus as there all loose files instead of mods, often with different versions of the same skin as separate downloads. This pack posted earlier has a good collection of lewd and anime vanilla skins including most of Nuir's work.

For anything I haven't covered like custom classes or a few leftover enemies you can generally just search this thread with the name of the thing your trying to replace.

 

Edit: A few Mods I forgot, Satyriatic Curios Mod modifies most of the curios to be lewd, the dialog in lustiest lair basically assumes your using this mod.

 

The Collectress lewd version of the collector fight and associated trinkets.

 

For NSFW hero skins I should mention this Foxgirl antiquarian replacement and this WTF BDSM amputee arbalest replacer as additional options.

 

There's some great background replacers for most of the dungeons but sadly they're all in the form of loose files so I would wait till your more comfortable with modding DD to add them. see my next post.

If they aren't there then likely are patreon exclusives and you'll just have to be patient for them to release it to public or snag it if someone posts it on this thread before forum moderators come by and clean the place up (second option is faster, but pretty rude to the mod author). You need A Project.xml file and A preview image, and you can just put it in a folder in your DarkestDungeon/mods folder to install it as a local mod.

The ONLY thing that matters in the Project file is what the mod is called. EVERYTHING ELSE does NOT matter.

Can someone tell me what is wrong with myy game? Everytime loading screen on Cove(only) crash and game says 'DD.exe stopped working'. It happens only on Cove. I reverse every manual change. Game is just after re-install. Here are my mods
