What was it? Some other mod?

Yeah, it was, embarrassingly. I went through all the mod folders and cleared out conflicting files like the succession_laws.txt. But then I forgot that steam-downloaded mods keep their files in a zip, and that I forgot to remove them from the zip files. Made me feel a bit dumb.

As for the studying cap, what about setting a similar age cap? Like maybe around age 80 or so. That way immortal races can't exploit them infinitely, but normal people can make full use of it without restriction?

Hi okay  i read on the steam description in the mod we might be able to turn religions more feminist?

Yeah, but only in your own realm. Everywhere else vanilla rules will apply.

Haha, that's nothing - I once wasted an entire day, trying to find a bug, which turned out to be an incompatibility with a mod I made myself xD

Makes sense, I'll probably do that.

I have got a question if my realm breaks on succession my other daughters get their fair share after my queen died will they keep the feminist religion or will it switch into vanilla?

Also questions here! I've noticed notes in your code you have some work-around indicating they're for merchant republics. Does this mean the mod has fully functional matriarchal merchant republics, or only gender-equal ones (from republic equality mod)?

Don't know, haven't tested it. Now you've got me scratching my head. Theoretically the game keeps the crown laws of the previous realm, when you divide it. But I don't really know.

Yeah, that part is from the "Republic Equality" mod. I just use its work-around to make the merchant republics enatic. But I somehow think that "Republic Equality" also enabled enatic succession, but I don't remember. Anyway, there were a few bugs with it that I fixed, so now it should work fine.

Currently standing at 59 positive ratings (68%) to 28 negative (32%).

The backlash even made me want to write an article for some LGBT journal, something I never thought I would ever want to do, because I want to stay far away from sociopolitical problems, especially those concerning gender and LGBT issues. It's just healthier not to get involved in those types of arguments if possible, considering the types of people that tend to gravitate towards these discussions, and especially taking into account the fact that I don't necessarily agree with both sides of the argument on every issue.

But at the end of the day, the mod still stands there, and every tenth person that visited the page decided to download it, for which I am grateful.

Sorry for rambling, just wanted to share my thoughts. If you haven't seen Lesbocracy on Steam Workshop, go download it and rate it. If you don't have Steam, I have a copy on Loverslab. It doesn't need any other mods to work. Support me on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/buzhidao so that I could drink a bottle of something strong for your health once a month.

I read the dev dairy about forged bloodlines and that you are able to mod it. still one month until HF will be released but maybe it will fit somehow into the mod to create a lesbian bloodline. No clue even it will be not handy for the golden orcheed

There will be bloodlines in my mod, don't worry :)

So, I discovered a problem with DWR which is especially relevant to your mod. I posted it in the main thread, but to quote it here:

Recently, I've been having issues with my character suddenly becoming chaste and celibate without warning or event prompts. This can be a game-breaking problem when playing your mod since celibate people automatically get banned from the society. So I began investigating my mods to figure out what the source of this annoying problem was. And I may have found it.

In the Dark World Reborn event file dw_cc_decisions.txt, there is a character-based spell (specifically Herimone's purity spell). It's a spell that shifts characters from hedonistic -> lustful -> chaste -> celibate. Now, the problem comes from its potential scope, if I'm reading it correctly: any person in the same court as her can cast it, on any person within diplomatic range. Since it operates on a fixed percent chance of being casted per character, the larger your court, the more of the entire planet becomes chaste/celibate. It doesn't even have targeting discretion (i.e., won't focus on enemies above friends).

Anyone using the mod might want to set the "ai_will_do" factors in the aforementioned file to 0 to prevent this issue. I'd also do the same for all the other character abilities in the same file just in case any other characters' abilities cause similar issues.

I'm just letting you know since this is especially problematic for your mod, as being celibate causes you to get banned from the society, and can effectively break the ability to use the mod properly.

That's interesting, I'll keep that in mind.

Are you planning to add compatibly with Beyond Heresy in any future updates of your mod? From my point of view they would work very well together ;)

Heh.

On an unrelated note: What exactly does "discourage factionalism" do as a decision? There seems to be no indication in the name or tooltip of what it does, mechanically. Does it delete rivalry relationships? Ban members from joining factions? Prevent war declarations between society members? Something else? The tooltip could probably use some clarification.

Bingo.

EDIT: you know, if you hover over that button next to the decision title, you will see a tooltip, saying "such-and-such's opinion changes by -5 (discouraged from factionalism)". This kind of makes it self-explanatory. But if you don't get this tooltip, then it doesn't do anything. In this case it shouldn't even appear for you.

So this is updated, is the steam one going to be updated as well? Currently just using this one, doing a little bit of RP with Cathar heresy.

Actually, this version is NOT updated, the Steam one is. The recent "update" was just me adding a compatibility patch to the downloads.

Is the BH fix also included in both of the steam versions?

Are you talking about the blot female homosexual bug? If so, then yes.
