Here's a question I have.  I'm currently using the Nanakochan custom race replacer for all NPC's and it shows up as an error, saying that the race isn't compatible.  Is there any way I can change in FO4edit?

I tried to rename some slaves, but they keeps theyr "raider" name. Should I install the "rename anything" mod too? I already have installed the "TextInPut" one.

 

 

Also, is it possible to relace the "mark" letter? I've already marked my companions more than once, and after that they got stuck / blocked in that place...

I'm sure someone has asked you this before but can I have slaves switch from companions to settlers and vice versa?  I don't see that option anywhere.

IIRC, you don't need to bring them to a settlement.  Instead, after you've captured them, talk to them and tell them to "Go home", and that will bring up the settlement selection menu like when  when you dismiss a regular companion.

Just what I was about to say. I did this with all the 20' slaves I have, too bad I still can't name them. But I already have tons of mods, and I fear that the "name everything" may cause some issue

Isn't that supposed to work only for settlers? I want to rename the slaves, which are gunners, raiders etcetera

There's an old mod that I don't think is on the Nexus anymore called "Don't Call Me Settler!" that does it too, and has some other handy functions, like calling unassigned settlers to you, burning corpses, changing settler spawn rate, etc.  It was cool, but part of it didn't work and the author took it down until he fixed it, and I think he just let it die.  I still use it though.

Love this mod, been using it for three or four playthroughs.  Just wish there was something to spend these millions of caps on.

 

However, am having a problem with one slave.   When I try to talk to her I get the talk, trade, etc. buttons but when I try this second talk button it does nothing.  Have two slaves in training right now and it works for the other one just fine.  Thinking I need to reset this one but without talking to her I can't get to that option.  Is there a way to do the same through console commands?  I have tried resetting all the mods in the MCM, no luck.  I have tried disable/enable and kill/resurrect, still no change.  I can make trade and all the rest work but not talk.

 

Had this problem with Curie but kill/resurrect brought her out of it.  With the slave all it does is delete all her possessions except the slave collar.  Is their another way to fix her?

 

BTW discovered accidentally yesterday that the manikins from Functional Displays can be pressed into service as sex partners.  I was amazed!

Rename Anything is a fine, well established mod that won't cause you one bit of issue. Highly recommended for naming slaves (and just about anything else you can think of.) If you're going to use Immersive Settlers (I do) let it rename them before you do, otherwise it will rename after and change it on you. Anyway,  don't sweat RA. It's a fine mod and you'll enjoy it.

I've been using JB for a long time now and I just added C&P and it seems to be ok. The only odd thing happening is that occasionally one of my slaves will go "missing" and nothing seems to bring them back. I don't know if it's C&P as I play around with mods quite a bit. If I figure it out I'll come back and let y'all know.

If anyone else has been experiencing this and has already figured it out . . . help a brother out!

That's what stopped me to use IS, I wanted to give them name of my choice. So I just have to wait for it to name them and then rename, I'll remember that

It doesn't always do it, just the one's you see in settlement named "raider," or "slave." If you rename them before you send them, your name will stick. When you approach the settlement tho, if they don't get a name (and they should) right away then IS has already registered them to be named. So if you name them, it will overwrite it. So just wait until next time you leave and come back, fast travel will do, and then rename them how you want.

Having the exact same issue with one slave and having everything but "talk" work.  She exhibited some odd behavior too where she started randomly  stabbing with a knife when she had no knife at the rooftop you potentially fight a Nuka World Boss, who knows my headcannon is she bit her own tongue off if a Jet induced hyper frezny.  If I could figure out a console command to just leave her at a settlement it'd be good, they're at at 100% sub

 

Update : Tried many things, interesting one was when I used the control system to kill slave, resurrect and recycle the slave turned into Nisha appearance wise (the npc mentioned in the fight above).   Still unresponsive, really puzzling as originally it had been some random Pack member.  Think I'm just going to call that one a loss to some weird conflict type of bug that I'm assuming was likely caused by how screwing around to get the actual Nisha as a slave as she kept trying to give me quests as she lay bloody on the ground.  Fun times.

How do I sell slaves in the latest version?

 

I used the "behave, I'm going to sell you option", but then what? I've tried the Auction House (with normal and extended dialogue mode both) but no-one wants to talk business.

 

I see the question gets asked quite a bit, but I'm not seeing any answers. What am I missing?

As far as the Auction House goes, I needed to sneak to get the Additional Dialogue popup. I think that's a side effect of Atomguard

You mean from Slave to their original NPC?  No, once done it kills the original and makes a clone as the slave. Hence be very careful what NPC you mark ;)

 

NPC`s with quests are a no-no for obvious reasons, although I always enslave Tina deLuca after completing her Dependency quest. Settlers from Tales of the Commonwealth make cool Slaves, Courtney/Seven and Zain are nice eye candy for any budding harem :D

No I meant from settler to companion?

I noticed when I use f11 for DavesMods - in game ESP explorer maintenance mod and come back out of it with tab, the stuck slave is immediately having sex with the player,  So I disabled that mod and tried to talk to her again.  Same thing, no talk. 

 

At one point I disabled the errant slave and went on playing.  When I started the game the next morning the game would no load.  Once I went back far enough it loaded but she was still there.  Took that to mean that disabling her in her present condition wrecked my saves, but I haven't tested this more yet.

AAF uses F11 by default as a random initiate sex between player and actor under crosshair hotkey. You can change either AAF or DavesMod hotkeys through their respective .ini files.

Yeah its very odd.  I tried killing the slave off but then it seemed to cause a chain reaction of making other npcs unable to be interacted with,  so just kind of stuck having the mute slave follow around, its a very strange bug that I'm assuming originated with some kind of conflict when I tried to enslave Nisha.   The somewhat new Crime & Punishment mod was causing me a lot of issues in trying to enslave with it's surrender mechanics, eventually disabled that.  I'm not sure if a conflict with it was the origin.

Yeah, I took the Dave's Mod out for a bit.  Saw that F11 still did the same.  However it seems as though now F11 always triggers my mute slave.  Yesterday I saw that I now have two mute slaves.  Meh.  Haven't tried experimenting since then, got discouraged for the day.  Had a thought overnight that it might be Random Shenanigans clashing and maybe fast traveling while the slave was "gettin' busy' might have stuck them.  Going to pull that today and see what happens.  Didn't have this problem the last playthrough and I have only added to that load order so I am thinking it was something I added.

 

Not too worried about F11 if I can get the other fixed.

Well now I have two mute slaves.  Looks like I have to figure it out now or stop collecting slaves.  Just when I was going to start giving out retirement plans to the veterans.   Kind of thinking this may be from fast traveling while a slave was in a Random Shenanigan.  Just disabled that and am reinstalling Just Business.  Worse comes to worse I may have to start reading the manual for F4Edit again.

 

Didn't have this problem last play through so it has to be something I've added and since I had 35 working girls before this problem appeared I think it has to be something new.

 

Wish me luck.  If I have any I will report.

 

[Edit] Well I got on and went back through some saves till I was down to one mute slave again, Random Shenanigans deactivated.  Then I decided to see if I could do the same with the first one too.  Had to go way back but she's finally talking to me again.  Leaving out Random Shenanigans for a while to see if the problem repeats.  Then I'll put it back in and see.

 

I suppose too that it could have been a dirty save that never rectified itself.  I have had those before and had to go back to get functionality that was lost.  Just not sure what it was yet.  Lost about 7 levels going back but oh well.  I feel much better now.  Will keep a better eye on the recruits from now on and backtrack sooner.

 

[2nd Edit} I found another problem.  Was using CWSS, you know working showers, toilets and sinks, and every once in a while I would fast travel while one of my recruits was showering,  She would appear at the new destination still showering and rezzing in and out.  Sometimes you could talk to her and reset, sometimes not.  It was a nice effect but it seems like it was too much for my cpu - though I have a new computer for the first time in ten years - being at a settlement would start the overheating and my fans would kick in.  When I took it out things went back to normal.

 

Was told below that RS author says not to use it, which I had missed.  I will use it in short bursts when I want my player to waste a day and have my recruits train automatically but yes, fast traveling in the middle of the deed does break stuff.  Too bad.  Oh well, five recruits and a day off getting snockered on all the booze I collected.  Life is good again in the Wasteland.

Joe himself (the author of RS,) recommends not using it. Fast travel while npcs are getting busy is going to break stuff, and it's hard to know if someone is off "doing it" in a corner and you don't know about it. Fun mod. Breaks games. Too bad really, was a fun one.
