I do have a couple of queries, though, and have been through 15 pages of the posts to find some answers and couldn't find or missed them, so please bear with my own particular issues that someone may hopefully be able to clarify.

 

First,  I installed the latest version and headed to Riften Bee n Barb...but the stranger does not reply, let alone buy me a drink to start the mod?   Undaunted, I used the skip in MCM, but was a bit confused at options to go to v7 or 8.2......I went for v7 skip.

 

However, using the skip procedure, I went to the part where you wake up outside Falkreath, but there seems to be a fair bit of the mod I have missed by doing so, and it looked interesting just going by the questions asked to get to the Falkreath part.  Is latest version only supposed to start at skip option to Falkreath, and to play earlier scenes one needs version 7 or earlier download?

 

Secondly, despite a erotica encounter with Lod, since then no erotica scenes have been available.   The mod seems to be progressing ok and I found Zoe, then the witch, but trying to get Kust to help with burial did not provide any erotica scenes, which I was expecting.  The druid in Eldergleam seemed an erotic possibility,  but no dialogue options provided erotica scenes, only the option to kill him.  Likewise the daedra lord summoned seemed promising, but no dialogue options available for erotica scenes, he was immediately hostile and I killed him, the scenes running around for Zoe joining the Guard, again, no erotic scene options in dialogue with guards or guard captain, gaining  access to Jarls longhouse looked promising, as after waiting an hour or so, an orgy was in progress....surely here was some erotic scenes.....but no erotic scene options appeared in dialogue, and am I am stuck trying to get past his chamber guard lol.

 

Trying to get Kust distracted provided some amusing bugs.  The only way I could distract him, was to steal some of his stuff......but when I tried to quickly leave with his gold, my player went into a scene where she is supposed to wait outside....only she turned and went right back into the tavern.....then back out again!.. lol....and stood frozen, no matter how many hours I waited after Kust left the tavern.  

Undaunted, I tried a previous save to do the Kust scene again, this time stealing stuff from the tavern as well,  which duly summoned a guard and I was put in jail.....only for a bizarre but amusing scene animation where she somehow got out the jail cell, slowly walked in a trance through the jail, the guards barracks, out the door and all the way back,  to the rail outside the tavern.....and this time she could move under  my control and I saw some dialogue from Kust as he left, and I could then pursue him back to the Hall of the Dead and the quest continued normally.

 

In summary,  I am enjoying what has now turned out to be a vanilla quest, but I did think there would be more than one erotica scene in over 2 hours of playing.

Well, you skipped a lot of erotic scenes. If it's your first time playing, don't use the skip option. That was intended for people who already played the mod and wanted to see the new scenes added in Falkreath without having to play all the mod again.

 

For the stranger to reply to you, you have to carry at least 100 gold and have no follower with you. To be sure that there is no script follower running, open the console and type set playerfollowercount to 0

 

To some scenes to unlock, you have to be at a certain level of "karma", which is a feature of the mod. The more dirty and sex stuff you do, more sex options you'll have. Since you skipped many stuff from the beginning your karma was probably so low that you didn't have the option to have sex with the druid or Kust. Regarding the dremora lord, it's a normal fight and he will be hostile. However, if he breaks your equipment he will rape you. There are three positions for him to rape you but if you keep watching you'll end up dying. You need to recover and kill him to proceed.

Found the problem with the CTD on loading - it turns out to be the number of animations loaded - I've got over 10,000 in total, so I'm going to pare down what is in use (this is even with FNIS 7XXL which is meant to support over 10K animations.)

 

When I unloaded one of the larger animation files (myslalpack v12) it started working again, so it looks like the MNC v11 tipped it over the edge as to what would work! The reason it didn't work after going back to v10 was because I hadn't removed creatures in FNIS and they lingered - keeping it over the allowed limit.

 

 

Now I've got that sorted, how do I skip the investigation at the start?

After making a deal with the Captain, assuming you went for the handjob/blowjob, there will be a prompt after you leave jail, asking if you want to skip investigation or continue. Select skip.

Ahhhhh, OK,  thanks....that makes sense regarding the skip. I thought it was weird starting the quest with a skip, and assumed the stranger didn't reply to me because v 8.2 only started with the falkreath skip .

I didn't have any followers with me and had plenty gold, but I do use a follower mod's UFO and FLP where my followers are idling waiting in various towns, I will try that console command.

Re.karma, so I am doing the wrong thing by giving food or gold to beggars, and need to ignore them for more erotic quest content?    No problem.

Actually, the beggars don't influence the karma. But there are some hidden scenarios and extra scenes that will only be possible if you give gold to the beggar in Falkreath. You might want to search for some guides that were posted in this thread.

I just checked the Skyrim wiki to find the Riften Jail secret entrance and found something of interest:

Does the Thief mod do something to the guards? Would this explain the freezing on entering and does anyone know how to reset the guards manually / how long you need to wait?

The same place when you see her the first men when she hits the imperials.

You want the official release from Dogma's blog page, which includes all of the animations, behavior files, scripts, interface, and the mod files.  Install that first.  Then if you install the BME over that, it will replace your Dogma - Thief.esp and another file.  Those two are a full rewrite of all of the dialog in the mod, as much as I'm able to update and test.  If you also install the fixes, that generally doesn't replace anything, but it makes a bunch of changes to the mod and the base game to fix visual issues.

Pretty sure that's what I've done (the 1st one was from his page), so thanks for confirming.

 

 

I've found a clash between Thief and Open Cities and it's a weird one...

 

If you are looking for an entrance / exit / get caught in a script to a place, you can end up going to the 'entrance' to a city and reappearing right where you 'left'. An example is in Windhelm when you're trying to get into the tavern and get kicked out. The script walks you all the way to entrance and interfaces with a rock (no, really) to the left of the gate, you reappear and THEN walk all the way BACK to the tavern and start the conversation outside.

 

It happens again at the same place when you get the flowers and he's inside. To be able to talk to him, you have to click on the same rock and only then can you get into the tavern.

Garrrrrrgggghhhhhhhh!   Lol.   Frustrations a plenty.   I was having what seems to be one of the common bugs where the quest won't start with the stranger in the Bee n Barb being silent.     

 

It was suggested by the helpful Highborn,  here in the topic discussions,  to try console command 'set playerfollowercount to 0'.    This appeared to work......yay!......and he asked me if I wanted a drink, and I replied affirmatively and then he asked me to sit down......which I did.....and.....Garrrrrrgggghhhhhhhh! .....he then says 'sorry, I asked you to come alone' and again the quest is stuck.   I then tried the console command again, reloading the save where I enter the Bee n Barb, trying to answer his initial offer differently, but the 'maybe later' option only gets you back into talking to him again and when you say yes, and sit down to have the drink with him.....bamm......'sorry, I asked you to come alone'....and the 'Get lost, creep' option just makes him disappear next time you enter the tavern, and no tips appear in screen.

 

This despite setting follower count to zero and releasing all my followers!    What a bloody annoying bug.    What is equally annoying is the quest will work if I choose skip in the MCM and go to Falkreath, but I want to do the quest from the start.

 

I scoured pages and pages of this topic (tip to author......I know its all extra work, but a common bugs solutions and a playthrough, hidden to stop spoilers, on the main mod page would save us hours of trial and error), and found a set stage command from way back in April, 2017, so in desperation I will try that.

Did you set the follower count to zero outside of the pub? I think you need to be in a separate cell when you do that.

Hm.. this mod has a problem with Fnis.

 

More exactly, Number of listed animation is problem.

 

If user listed too much animation, and run fnis with Dogma, Game got crashed.

 

If user doesn't listed much animation, and run fnis with Dogma, Game is working very well.

That's the problem I faced previously - you can see my comments and trouble-shooting steps above. It doesn't matter if you use the XXL version (7) of FNIS, this mod will crash with (what appears to be) more than 10K animations listed. I reduced the count to about 8K and it's working fine. I'll be re-enabling the missing ones once I've completed my run-through

OK,   Using the follower count console command and the animal count console follower command would not get  past sitting down with the stranger,  and it didn't matter if I set the follower count outside of the cell or in the Bee n Barb.

I then tried the set stage command "setstage bd_mq 50"....and the quest started at last.

 

But.   Unfortunately, the stranger is still sitting in the Bee n Barb, and I have all my inventory and gold a plenty.   I just had to play the quest as if I was in ragged clothes with little money and weaponry.

Despite the stranger stubbornly remaining seated at the Bee n Barb, I did the jail sequence of the quest no problem,  but upon leaving the jail unwisely decided to choose the option not to skip the investigations. ...and waited....and waited...hours turned into days. ........the stranger still sat staring straight ahead at the Bee n Barb, although the argonian barmaid told me to go see a guard immediately....but, no quest continuing dialogue occurred when talking to guards or even the captain.   

 

I confess, I ran out of patience for the investigations, and went back a couple,of saves to leaving the jail and this time chose the skip option, and the quest progressed as it should and off to Windhelm I did go.....wondering if the poor stranger is still sitting all alone back at the Bee nBarb lol.

Ok this is my first time on here so hello everyone :smile: and great mod by the way. So just wanted to know a few things when you blackout after meeting the stranger in the bee and barb and when you blackout at the drinking game with the captain in helgas bar riften is there anyway to get those scenes or any other hidden scenes? and how would i aquire them. I wanted to know as well is can i get all the acheivements  im missing a few and ive just got back up to the scene with kust in falkreath the last update i played ended just after getting the dreamcatcher does it go any further than that? thx

The blackout scenes don't have actual animations, so far. The screen fades to black and that's it. But it may be added in the future or final version, for the patreon members. 

 

The last version ends after you get the dreamcatcher and fights the boss in the hill.

Hm ... I seems to have found a problem ? After 3 rounds of "training" with elf he says that he is to tired to continue and that I should come back later. I do, after 5 re 6 days, yet he is stiil tired ... Am I missing something ?
