We need the source code for the dll so we can update HDT SMP for the new version of SSE when the game updates.

It would be really mean of hydrogen sister to withhold the source code and not make an update for a new runtime if that were to happen, But it's his/her baby (and prerogative) so all we can do is hope they either decide to keep the project alive or kindly share the tools.

I don't "hate CBBE." However, I hate the deceptive and arrogant tactics the CBBE team is using on their Bodyslide page to trick people into believing that UUNP doesn't work with Bodyslide any more, even to the point of removing all the existing UUNP presets, bodies and sliders from a Bodyslide "update" without notice or warning to users to back up their existing UUNP stuff if they want to keep it.  Yes, they have grudgingly answered a couple of the questions about "where is UUNP?" by saying "the oldrim stuff will work but we don't recommend it and we won't support it." Saying "I don't recommend that" implies there is something wrong with it, which is simply not true- there is nothing "wrong with" UUNP and in fact many of us prefer it even if we didn't have hand-made slidersets and shapes for thousands of outfits. The Bodyslide/CBBE team also deletes user posts stating how to get their UUNP functionality back in Bodyslide when users ask that question.

Do they have every right to stop supporting UUNP with Bodyslide? Of course they do, especially since UUNP belongs to them. Does "not supporting UUNP" justify tricking gullible (un-knowledgeable) users into believing that they have no choice but to abandon UUNP and switch to CBBE because Bodyslide no longer works with UUNP? I say no, it's a despicable tactic.

The new CBBE may in fact be a "better body" in some ways than UUNP is, although I haven't seen ANY posts or articles saying that it was visually distinguishable in-game from a properly textured UUNP-HDT body- I doubt that anyone can tell the difference "all those shinies" (polys) actually makes in-game except, for some people, a fps hit due to all those polys.

The way most mod authors drive people to adopt their mod is to post before-and-after screenshots and or videos (for example, showing a UUNP-bodied girl chopping wood or sneaking next to screenshots of the same activity with a CBBE body) in order to show the superiority of their particular mod. I haven't seen any such videos or comparative screenshots- all I've seen is all my UUNP stuff blown up without warning in a Bodyslide update and posts by the CBBE Team saying "I just wish people would stop downloading and using UUNP" without any comparative images or videos or reasons why UUNP people should switch.

But even if it was possible to see a difference between UUNP and CBBE in-game, the CBBE team's choice to drive adoption of it via crippling Bodyslide and blowing up users' existing UUNP stuff instead of pointing out the benefits and features of the new body, highlighting how it might be better, simply stinks and is not in keeping with the modder community values I imagined we were all striving for.

I've been away a while.

I tried the CBBE SE when it was first released and it was my opinion that Dimonized UNP was weighted much better in the shoulders so I stuck with that. The fact of the matter is you can put just about whatever slider set you want on any mesh. I don't see why people get so worked up about it. Use what you like.

I guess I'm still use to how modding was back in the early "2000s".  People weren't so stingy about it. That's one of the things I miss about the old NWN modding community. It was sort of expected that assets released might show up in other mods, whether modified or not. Then again NWN is a D&D game.

Imagine if Sir Berners Lee had the "It's Mine! Mine!" attitude about the WWW. We might not even be having this conversation in this venue. So yeah, I'm very supportive of opensource as a whole. Especially opensource modding. It might be a bit socialistic of me, but...…….

Also, I have updates "disabled" as well. In fact I'm still running 1.5.23. Back up your EXE files, kiddies.

Sucks about the lurkers. I had no idea. I might have to tinker with that one.

I totally agree. Worked well in Skyrim, and no drama or deception required.

There were and might be again more files involved than just the exe's. For example, in addition to SkyrimSE.exe, the first couple of updates replaced the following files in \ Data: esm's Dawnguard, Dragonborn HearthFires, Skyrim & Update; bsa's Skyrim - Patch & Skyrim - Shaders; and SkyrimPrefs.ini in the [user]\ Documents\Games\Skyrim Special Edition folder. The safest thing to do before allowing Steam to run rampant through your game is simply to back up the whole SSE folder and the [user]\ Documents folder where the ini's are too. That's what saved me after the first game-breaking update.

Does anyone have a good guide for how to uninstall HDT SMP for SSE? I think it's throwing up some pretty wonky errors on my setup and I'd like to see what removing it does.

i think you just remove the skse plugins from skse folder

CBBe has`t collision. Only SMP physics.  But it's possible to do, but it's not legal.

I feel a bit triggered. What the hell?! Why? Care to explain? Why it's illegal? Isn't EVERYTHING we do here is illegal?

You should be able to simply uninstall it with no adverse effects on that savegame. I would make a "throwaway save" though so if it doesn't work you can put the dll's back and party on with the save before the throwaway save.

TRIGGERED!

And no, we're trying NOT to do illegal stuff here. Ousnius has made it clear that he is not OK with anyone expanding the features on his CBBE or UUNP bodies- which is why Gromilla's body was taken down, and why a group of ppl are working on a brand new body that we can expand to whatever features we want without using any of Ousnius's (and the rest of his UUNP/CBBE/Bodyslide group's) work.

I feel like this may have been explained before but these topics' search results really are bothersome when it comes to specifics. I was wondering if it was possible to apply the same kind of HDT-SMP physics we have on a few of the SSE cloak packs to some of the oldrim outfits that support HDT (PE, I assume)...and if so, would an absolute novice like me ever be able to do it myself, so as not to have to bother asking anyone else to do it for me...to elaborate, I'm referring to pieces of armors that are hanging/loose/cape-like in nature, not breast/butt physics (which seems to work fine already)...

Because I needs mah Team TAL armors to be all fluttery!!!!...

No one has been able to contact Hydro about getting the source code for HDT-SMP? I would expect at least some news.

I would have no way of asking hydro for the source code. If the community could get it from her we would be able to create a new physics setup hopefully with someone who has the knowledge in programming. But it'll come down to if Hydro can produce it otherwise, the community is only going to be able to use CBP Physics until someone can produce collisions which HDT SMP does.

That reasons why topic uunp senpo would be remove, right?

Sadly to know that
