Does anyone else remember the days when consoles were released over-powered and heavily subsidised, and if we got the PC ports at all they'd be crappy half-assed conversions with terrible UIs? (Actually, that last part hasn't changed that much). And if the subject came up, the console players were all "lol pcs are shit get a console raoflmao". Now, apparently, we are suddenly all members of some intellectual elite keeping the worthy, upright majority ground down under our PC Master Race Jackboots. I mean wow. Just wow. Ranging from lowering chance to hit in VATS to throwing in a texture replacer for some (not all, that'd be too obvious!) billboards to now read "Real gamers use PCs". We'll see if this entitlement issue remains, but if it does, you can bet on some modders to include very creative tweaks to their "console friendly" creations.

BoozeJunky Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I dunno, I'm not a prolific modder - but I've made a few. The way I see it, I make mods for myself to use. I share them, because I think other people might enjoy using them as well. I'm not going out of my way to provide content for Bethesda's games, I'm tweaking my own and sharing what I've done. And since I own FO4 for the PC, the Xbone and PS4 are simply not a consideration for me, nor would I consider constraining my mods to worth with them, nor would I be willing to field bug testing or making compatibility patches for platforms I don't own. That's just how it is. I don't hold any animosity towards console players. They're just irrelevant to my modding.

They went insane with a Mini Nuke Mini Gun...haha Now I think the XBox version is bugged. hahaha

feral Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I've found myself in a unique situation where I have a little bit of experience tinkering around with mods in Fallout NV and Skyrim on my PC, enough to where I could make some basic weapon mods for the game. But I only have Fallout 4 for the console because my computer isn't powerful enough to run it, and without a copy of Fallout 4 I can't do anything with the creation kit; and I don't think buying Fallout 4 for $60 just to do mods for consoles is an investment I'm willing to make. So I'm just sitting here with my hands in my pockets and kicking the dirt like the kid who didn't get picked to play ball.

My hands lack motion and sensitivity as well, so I am quite literally unable to play on a console. Controller buttons are just too close to one another and I keep accidentally pressing buttons because I can't feel when I do. I don't have that problem as much with a mouse and keyboard. Times like these make me happy about that "disability". Didn't "LOL" at this at all, it's saddening to see what a bunch of crybabies make up the voice for console gamers. Maybe (at nearly 28) I'm just slowly getting too old for the "gamer world" though.

I remember a chat in WoW, years ago, with someone who was in his grandson's guild. Man was approaching 80 and a hardcore gamer, actively playing endgame content, ranking leaderboards and everything. Still, it feels like the average gamer's age is going down as I get older.
