You shout to have her help in battle. Sometimes she's going to "do things" to you. But she's not meant to talk to you, other than in some rare cases. However there should be dialogue if you initiate. What happens if you select the "..." ?

No, dialogue as a whole did not even start. Just at bottom was inscription "Nocturnal: ..."
 

But the question is removed. The problem was solved by itself. I still did not understand reason. Dialog suddenly started when I wanted to make a screen)) 0 000)) 0

  • We are currently developing a new bondage framework mod called Toys. Toys will be used by this mod instead of using DD
  • Toys has had 2 Alpha releases and then on Mar 15, 2021, Beta 1 came out for both LE and SE
  • Shout Like a Virgin 8.0 Beta 1, using Toys, will release for both LE and SE, hopefully end of March, but at the latest, early April
  • The V1 (first non beta) for Toys should be late April or May. SLaV 8.x Final would release same day or close to it

Seeking feedback for SLaV 8.0

 

I'm converting SLaV to use Toys. This will be a Beta for both LE and SE.

 

I'm deep into the details now. This means using lots of features in Toys, which were inspired by SLaV but are now built into Toys. So this gives opportunity to change things up with little effort while I'm at it.

 

One major change will be that the Virgin Devices, now known as Virgin Toys, will have various escape methods. SLaV of the past, treated escape very simple... you can't while in Virgin Training, and you get Nocturnal's key when out of training. That's it. I had no interest in tedious clicking to escape, so did not use it.

 

SLaV 8.0 will instead use that "Nocturnal's key" concept for just some of the Toys, like the ones crucial to keeping your virginity, but use the Toys Framework new crazy ways of escaping for others, and that includes during Virgin Training, and when not.

 

Overall, the way Toys is setup, there is more optionality. So this means that the SLaV experience with the toys used, can be both MORE hardcore, or LESS hardcore than what the old SLaV is like. This means that picking a different Toy (we will still have that menu choice), will not be just about looks, but also, how hardcore it is (what effects it uses). For example, if a toy forces your clothing off, you will be able to adjust the chance of that happening. If a toy forces you to crawl, you will indeed, crawl but you get to choose how often, instead of only "all the time" (which is still an option). This is built into Toys, and you adjust it in the Toys MCM. And there's more like that.

 

I will likely have more opinion type questions coming, but here's 2 so far...

  1. Anything concerning (pros and cons?) about what I've explained above on escape and optionality?
  2. For the "starter" set of toys (the default toys Nocturnal equips), I will be switching to the new set of toys in Toys called Insignia. But there is just one toy, I think might be considered "signature" for SLaV, that I am tempted to keep as default, and that would be the Anal Torch. Its part of the "comedy". People either love it or hate it. You can easily switch to another anal toy, but new users often don't realize that for a while, so they, if hating it, hate it for a while. So the question is... Should the default anal toy, continue to be the Anal Torch!? :P

I like the proposed approach. I (and I suspect a lot of people) will be using TOYS side by side with Devious Devices, so I like the idea that TOYS' flagship mod will use lots of its features to really differentiate it and show off the features it offers in contrast with the various DD quests also in the world. 

 

Optionality is important to me, since I have a complex load order where mods sometimes have a degree of push and pull over features. The ability to fine tune even probabilities, timing, and difficulty all make it easier to get all the mods to play nice together. Much as I hate to say it, the ability to turn off features is also important -- for example, on a previous playthrough I disabled the forced nudity elements of the mod entirely because the game concept involved the hero using the SLAV LE + Devious Training to use the various toys as an underlayer for heavy armor (with alternate meshes that showed enough skin that the harness, etc., were visible). Needless to say, forced nudity would be a problem there.

 

Long story short -> more options, more control, both of these are strong pros in my tally.

I have mixed feelings about the torch. On one hand, it's part of the mod's established lore, it's an important part of the the opening scene that sets some of the tongue in cheek mood for the mod, and it's visually striking - perhaps even more so on modern bodies with better collision detection around the glutes.

 

On the other hand, it's a light source attached to the character. While it's not nearly as intrusive and problematic as the halo (which I always disable during initial MCM setup), I spend a lot of time harmonizing my lighting mods, and having yellow-orange light spilling out everywhere changes that look a lot. Also, it really cuts into the difficulty effect of dark dungeon mods.

 

Perhaps the solution with the torch is to still have it in that initial equipment setup, but fairly quickly replace it with the new signature plug... then ensure that players can switch back to the torch later if they wants its functionality or just like the way it looks on them.

Ya, I could do that. Currently the mod tells you about the choice to change up the devices at any point after your first rebirth. You could have done it the very minute nocturnal equipped it, but I dont tell you that. The change might be that the Tips Message Box for that very thing, is presented to you much earlier.

lol and here I was for ages just assuming that MCM screen wasn't usable until after your first rebirth.

VM, it seems that i need some help.

 

I'm finishing my quest"The Man Who Cried Wolf" and already cleaned the cave. But i meet a problem: As long as i don't speak to Firebeard to submit the quest, I don't have any trouble. But after I submit the quest (or after i get letter of the following quest by Firebeard from the postman, i'm not that sure), i can't save my game, which includes quick save, auto save or save manually.

 

By the way, my mother language is not english, so i found that "The Man Who Cried Wolf" is added by a mod because its name is in english. And I searched for the quest's name, finding that the quest may be  modified by SLAV. I'm not very sure if this problem is caused by the quest "The Man Who Cried Wolf" or by SLAV. But can you offer some possible solution?

You may have a corrupt save. See Golden Rule for the cause of this. You can try using using Save Cleaning tools but I don't recommend it as the problem will slowly creep back in even if you get it working at first. Only solution is to start a new game unfortunately. Then make sure you are following that rule.

I see. So even if my previous saves seems "ok", they can also be corrupt. So i'd better start a new one and be attention to the golden rules. Thank you very much. At least I know it isn't because mod infliction or sth worse, so i needn't do much about my mods.

I come again. With a new save i exactly do according to the golden rule. But i still meet the similar problem. I found that the possible situation is that i can't save not long (about several seconds) after reacieving the letter.

I don't even know of a letter, but I don't think you mean a letter from SLaV? When I do that quest as part of SLaV, there's no need to wait for a letter. Maybe I'm getting one but don't realize it form the vanilla quest and ignore it.

 

Nobody has reported this before as being a potential issue from SLaV. That does not mean nobody else has seen it, but SLaV has had that quest in use for 4 years, so I'm going to say its pretty safe to say this mod is not causing the problem.

 

I also have no idea what it could be. I have heard of people not being able to save a game. It's a thing in Skyrim for sure. It could be save bloat. Not from this mod or I'd have loads of problems reported. Some of the Save Cleaner tools out there might fix you, but if there is a mod you have creating the problem, it will just come back.

 

It also does not even feel like a save "bloat" to me because you getting the exact same thing at the same point. Bloating should show its face more randomly.

After finished "The Man Who Cried Wolf", Firebeard would send PC a letter, saying sth about the cave and suggest PC go to him for further quest. This is the letter i mentioned.  And since SLaV modified the serial quests started by "The Man Who Cried Wolf", I came to you for help. 

 

Since there is no other player's report, I will assume that this problem is caused by other mod(s). Thank you again for you patience answer and suggestions.

@whimcott, do you have iNeed on your current setup? That mod has a known issue with its scripts that can result in a crash on save failure mode like you described that appears to be linked to length of play and amount of progress (though the developers have not yet nailed down the exact triggers and it varies from user to user). 

 

If so, try disabling iNeed in the MCM. You may also need to use player.kill in the console to clear any lingering iNeed gunk. You should be able to save at that point. Quit to desktop, reload, and then reactivate iNeed. This should grant you a reprieve from the crash behavior for some time, after which you'll need to repeat the procedure. 

 

Hope that helps - the iNeed issue was identified on the SSE build, so I can't guarantee it'll work the same on LE. That said, if you are running LE with a ported copy, and this workaround doesn't help, then you may want to share a Net Script Framework crash log so we can analyze the issue in more detail.

same issue plus some new mods started only working for the newer version so had to upgrade
