JLF65 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I just tried 1.4 and was reporting back with some booboos. Not sure if 1.5 fixes them, so I'll report anyway and then go try 1.5. When you set the harem outfits in the settings tab, the first entry shows the outfit name right, but shows the mod name and outfit ID from the second entry. In the harem tab, when you try to set the outfit, the first entry actually sets the outfit to the second entry. So there's something off about the first entry in the outfit list. All other entries show fine, and set fine. Hum, I tested those quite extensively. Did you clean when updating to 1.4? Anyway, will check again. Yeah, even started a whole brand new game as well. I set seven outfits, but only the first entry seems to be a problem.
Guest ffabris Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Yeah, even started a whole brand new game as well. I set seven outfits, but only the first entry seems to be a problem. Bizarre. OK, will poke at it, thanks.
JLF65 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Cleaned things up. Installed 1.5. Made sure to toss the Manipulator data save. Works fine. Can't find a problem. So, it was either fixed in 1.5, or maybe a weird mod conflict in 1.4. I did disable a few mods to lessen the load on my game, so it's possible there wasn't anything wrong before, just too many mods selected. In any case, 1.5 is doing good so far. I'll test it some more tomorrow.
Guest ffabris Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 No, there was a problem, I found it. What you described would happen if you set the outfit shown in the drop-down without opening it. So I fixed that and then decided to make the last selected outfit "stick", so that if you want to apply the same outfit to another NPC, it is already shown in the list, and you can just Set. Basically, that list now remembers the last selection made.... as does the list of harem NPCs - and a new list I did for something related. So yeah I guess I'm still matching release numbers with the date. For now.
foreveraloneguy Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I've tried 1.4, and I'm not doing something right when adding outfits. I use the name of the outfit from the mod, then specify the esp, then the formid. But for example, specifying: Sexy ElvesCuirassF BBP_Sexy Elves (with and without .esp) 01ACBF03 (with and without the leading 0) Then I always get an error stating that the specified outfit can't be saved. So what am I doing wrong here? This: "and Form ID in hex (without the first 2 digits)" So in your example, the FormID is ACBF03 - and the mod name needs the ".esp" (The name you give the outfit doesn't matter; that is simply for your reference.) OK, I was pulling the formid from the mod itself. ACBF03 and bbp_sexy elves.esp still give an error that the outfit wasn't able to be loaded. So does this require an outfit record, or will just specifying an armor directly work?

Since it was showing it was on the entry I wanted to change, I just left it. When I went to 1.5, I knew the order I wanted, so I just went down the line. Those can be hard to catch bugs. Nice find.

So does this require an outfit record, or will just specifying an armor directly work? It needs to be an outfit, not armor. Outfit records are super easy to add with TES5Edit. Right click on the mod, go down to ADD in the contextual menu, then select an outfit record. Then right click on the newly created outfit header and select ADD to make the actual record. Left click on the record. You can set the name to whatever you want - usually something descriptive of the outfit, like "NeoSlaveLeiaW0". Then right click on the item field and select ADD. Left click the newly added item twice SLOWLY (don't double click), and use the popup menu to select a piece of armor to be part of the outfit. Repeat until you've added every bit of armor/clothing that you wish to be part of the outfit. Once you've done your first outfit, you'll see how easy it was. Creating more outfits will go super fast. I made a half dozen in a couple minutes after the first.
karlpaws Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 So I've got a question after playing around with the harem stuff... mostly in a "is this the intended behavior" line. I can set the global harem location and then invite people, but I'd rather they not walk halfway across Skyrim to get to whatever location I've set. I found if I find the NPC in their home I can set that as their harem location but how should I set my house in their city? I was thinking change the global harem location, make harem members in that area, let them walk "home" and then set them there... before moving to the next hold and setting a new global there. Could we either have options to teleport the harem member to the location, select which preselected harem location they are assigned to, or using the Saved Places feature, transport PC and selected member to the location you select? I can make anyone a follower, and using AFT summon them to my location and then release them as a follower but I'd hoped to avoid that.

I think I fixed it last night, but I didn't test it well enough. I'll do that today. I can set the global harem location and then invite people, but I'd rather they not walk halfway across Skyrim to get to whatever location I've set. I could fast travel them, yes. It was a design choice to have them walk. I found if I find the NPC in their home I can set that as their harem location but how should I set my house in their city? Upper right side of the Harem panel. Global sets for all; if you set a global home after assigning individual NPCs to different homes, then all will get a new home. Places is for the player only. It allows you to set locations for easy return. Remember, the harem isn't meant to be a type of follower mod. If you make any of them followers, they won't follow because the harem quest priority overrides pretty much anything else. Does this help?
Guest ffabris Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 1.6 is up ... New: Apply outfits defined in Settings to any NPC. Changed: Max outfits increased to 40. Fix: In some cases, selecting an outfit would result in a different one being then applied.

I think it helps, as I somehow missed the per harem option on that panel. Here's the problem, if I understand things correctly. I start in Riften and set Honeyside as the global home. I nab Sapphire and Ingun and they go into the house. Then I go to Whiterun and haremize Ysolda and Carlotta, but want them in Breezehome. Do I need to set them with "temporary" individual locations there in the marketplace while I head into the house, and then set them home and sleep locations in the house? Otherwise they'll start walking to Riften. I suppose with them being essential they would get any place eventually. Anyway, that's what I meant by the last Places question... you don't need to make your mod overly complex as long as I understand how it works. Might be easiest to open the console myself, click my victim, and then teleport myself where I want them, then use placeatme to pull the victim to me before haremizing them. Still have 1.4 but the outfits I made did work. Now I just need to make a patch/mod/thing so I can make an outfit with items from multiple mods.

Or you could just not care that they start heading off to Riften for the time it takes you to reach Breezehome. One thing to note is that NPCs will have a very large radius for wandering from the point at which you set a home location. I did this because some interiors are very large and I wanted them to be made use of. A large radius isn't a problem on interiors, but it can be on exteriors as it allows NPCs to wander very far indeed. As for outfits, the system was broken, but as I explained last night, it was very easy to never run into the situation at all. I didn't till JLF mentioned it. Hopefully 1.6 fixes the problem.

Do you use some of the same code that follower mods use for "idle here" in your home location, or your own? I was playing with all the women in Riverwood to get a feel for things, and I could see them wandering around, sometimes stopping in Sigrid's vegetable garden or sitting on that large stump where you speak with Raloff and Gerdur if you choose him to leave Helgen. It seems like there should be a method to capure a LCTN marker.. whatever they are exactly, and use that for an NPC, unless the base game AI actually hard codes all the idle spots and lets them move from one predetermined place to another, though in random order. Either way, looks good so far. Is 1.6 safe to upgrade? I am not doing anything serious, so I can start over if need be. When I get more outfits created I'm going to edit the JSON directly and see if I can enter all the new numbers correctly. Then I can really test that " add an outfit to any NPC" option

The harem are handled more like "My Home Is Your Home", since there is no following involved. Instead, NPCs are forced to "sandbox" near the location set as home. Sandboxing basically means: hang around here, use available furniture, idle markers, eat, sleep, blah blah. The "home" (and "sleep") spots are indicated by markers which you can't see. (*) Each harem NPC is assigned to two makers (home, sleep), for a total of 50 markers. They will sandbox within a radius of 9000 game units. If you use "set global", then all markers are moved to the spot you're in, thus forcing all NPCs to relocate to the new place. If you set individual home/sleep locations, then only the NPCs you select will change location. (*) If you want to see markers in-game, you can. Edit Skyrim.ini, and in the [Display] section, add: bShowMarkers=1 then start the game. When you're bored of that, remove the line or change the 1 to a 0. Is 1.6 safe to upgrade? I am not doing anything serious, so I can start over if need be. When I get more outfits created I'm going to edit the JSON directly and see if I can enter all the new numbers correctly. JLF65 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I like that this mod is so light, so don't get too caught up in adding stuff unless it's light as well. Like maybe a switch on whether to make them walk or to fast travel. That seems nice and light while still giving you a choice. At least setting them as essential allows them to make it home, but (hilarious story) I set Ysolda as essential, then later as I came home, I found her being chased by a dozen wolves. If your global home is in (or goes past) a bad place, they'll wind up getting chased all the way to the door if you're in the area. They can walk if the place is nearby/safe, but fast travel would be better if it's in the center of a bunch of spawn points. An example of getting too heavy - I had a thought on improving adoptions... instead of just simply the kid telling you they'll meet you at home, they'd instead meet you at the gate after they "gather my stuff and tell everyone goodbye", then you could escort them to their new home, or take them to a carriage and pay for transport to their new home. Something like that would probably be a bit much for a light mod.

But with one understanding: the sleep location may be in a different cell. I am not going to checking whether the new harem member should be asleep and thus FT to the sleep location instead of the home location. Btw, cute one about the wolf chase! Well, adoption is something I don't want to do, regardless of whether it is "light" or not. All of my mods involve sex in some way (most of them very directly); I will not therefore be doing anything with kids, ever, at all. Call me strange (well, I am ) but ... not gonna do it. (And yes I do realize you were just giving an example.)
raptor4d4 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Wow. This mod is getting updated so fast! I was planning on trying it but I keep hesitating because it seems like improved versions are being released fairly regularly. And I always have terrible luck upgrading mods.
Guest ffabris Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 1.6.1 is up... New: option to have newly added harem members fast travel home, rather than walking. (Snapshots not updated; the option is in the Harem panel). (Not 1.7 cuz it isn't the 17th yet. ) Wow. This mod is getting updated so fast! I was planning on trying it but I keep hesitating because it seems like improved versions are being released fairly regularly. And I always have terrible luck upgrading mods. LOL! Well, I keep thinking of things to do ... or getting suggestions. But... I've pretty much run out of steam as far as new ideas go. So if you're lucky, it may hold at this release for more than a day.
Juunzo Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 This Mod makes it much easier my life, thank you for doing. It is awesome.
Fleurra Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Excellent mod! Thank you very much.Anyone care to recommend some location/home mods to make a harem?
srayesmanll Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Excellent mod! Thank you very much. Anyone care to recommend some location/home mods to make a harem? Lots of people recommend the underground bathhouse mod. I like the various castle mods from Skyrimlazz. Large spacious castle-type locations, most have NPCs (guards, servers, etc - although they have non-NPC versions), auto-stripping for bathing locations.
JLF65 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Anyone care to recommend some location/home mods to make a harem? I'm currently using Silverpeak Lodge, which has beds for 38 and a large heated pool. It also has all the amenities... smithing, cooking, baking, farming, animals, etc. Nice place with a great view. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59543/?

I've tried that one, and while not bad, it can be pretty hard on weak boxes (plus too many freebies smithing-wise). And that's before any NPCs are added (none are included). There is a light version, but you lose one of the pools. Regardless, it's a nice one if your machine can handle the full version.
Guest ffabris Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Excellent mod! Thank you very much. Anyone care to recommend some location/home mods to make a harem? Welcome! I agree that Skyrimlazz has great mods if you like large spaces ... and pools.
