@emily1673 Thanks for the quick answer, this works just fine, the prompt is just a bit misleading.

Yes, you are right. I reworded it more clearly in the new version.

It's probably not something that can be fixed or patched, but using this mod with the pronouns mod ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/106054?tab=description&BH=0 ) makes the game crash when upon talking to NPC's when YPS loads. ( the first time I was mid conversation when the prompt about hair growth popped up and as soon as I selected an option the game crashed, the crashes only start after this prompt which I assume is on mod start up )

Just letting you know in case it is something that could be patched. I was going to role play as a male character who looks feminine enough everyone thinks is and refers to as ( hence pronouns mod ) a girl, then realizes they're a girl through interacting with the mod leading them to the dibella quest. But it's not that different to simply play as a girl from the start and pretend it's the male. Still, if someone wants to use this mod and use their pronouns for real it'd be nice for them to work together.

Thanks, noted this. Just that I understood it correctly: The game crashes when YPS loads during a conversation? In that case, it would be possible to wait until YPS has loaded before starting a conversation. The reason for the crash might also simply be that YPS is script heavy.

No once it's loaded it crashes anytime I try to talk to any npc. It just also crashes if I'm already in conversation when it finishes loading, meaning it's not trying to active the npc that causes the crash I guess is what I was trying to say.

So that's how I determined it was this mod + another, the first crash happened after the hair popup while I was mid conversation, so I disabled this mod to confirm it was part of it, then tested talking to NPC's before and after the pop up, then started disabling recently added mods until talking to npc's stopped causing a crash.

Just a small headsup.

Looks like a script I compiled (ypsPiercingTicker) was written to the mod folder of Sha's Yps Version before the FOMOD was packed. Judging by the files timestamp this was a first test version of the current version, so this may or may not miss some changes listed for 6.7.4 so I'd recommend to remove it either way.

Sorry for that.

No problem. That script file also "works", it just doesn't contain a few of the other new features.

Just posted a revised version.

New voice files for 6.7.4 are up. Only one dialogue had small changes though.

Thanks for your prompt work! This time I just fixed a typo.

Next update will probably have some more dialogue again.

I always feel very tempted to add more dialogue and thoughts, just because you are doing these great voice overs. :)

Just uploaded "v.6.7.4.0 LITE":

this LITE version contains all features up to v. 6.7.2 LITE, plus the new 200 player thoughts, plus the option to configure nails in the file ypsNailpolishItems.json from 6.7.4, so players can use the new "Shas'" nails without installing Sexlab or DD.

The remaining new features of 6.7.3 and 6.7.4 will be added later to a future LITE version.

Hi @emily1673

I don't know what you did with the latest version, but hair growth, stockings pack and new items are all working now :D

Thank you very much, my character is feeling pretty once more.

Oh and had an idea...

Magical top coats for nails that boost unarmed combat!
E.g. one coat could make nails super hard and sharp giving extra damage, another could apply a poison on hit etc...

Glad that it's working now. Hope that the cuticle remover can be used as well.

I didn't make some big changes, but during the update some internal variables are reset.

Good ideas you have! The upcoming professional nail update will have the feature that wearing long nails will affect the stats. The plan so far is that they give a buff to magic abilities, and a debuff to manual skills (like lockpicking). But it would be a good idea to have still more options available.

I was wondering, your fashion score is lowered if your dirty while using bathing in Skyrim, maybe you could add the scented soaps ( or add new ones ) as something that gives a bonus to fashion like the eau de perfumes?

Also sorry if this has been suggested or already exists and I'm just not seeing it, but maybe more compatibility with sexlab aroused /slax? Like having a high fashion score raises the arousal of npc's attracted to your gender, and maybe their arousal affects YPS flirt chance? Slax also has the ability to add tags/keywords to your clothing, like setting them as sexy, if someone could make an addon for the ypsClothings tags that would be very helpful I think? I don't really understand how to use kid and spid to do it.

Just some thoughts I had.

Does the mod alter the running speed without having any heels on? Because, if i enable the high heel training, i'm getting really slow without wearing any heels. I remember, it used to be not like that a few versions back, but i updated now and it seems to be the case now.

EDIT: Okay, seems like the LITE version of the mod has to be the deal. I switched to the full version and now it seems to work like intended.

Here's an idea that wouldn't let me get to sleep tonight: piercings could become infected while they're healing. It could be a small chance (configurable in the MCM). I don't think we need a whole piercing aftercare system with a product to use to prevent infection. Just a small chance of infection which could cause the player character to need to remove the piercing from the slot (as it won't heal any more while infected) and let the slot heal back to unpierced before getting it pierced again (and hopefully avoiding infection the next time).

Thank you for the feedback! Actually it wasn't me who added the Bathing in Skyrim fashion feature (this was done by one of the modders who continued developing during my absence).

I have a question for anyone playing yps on Skyrim SE/AE. Are you using Pandora in place of FNIS, and if so, are there any issues? I'm thinking about trying Pandora but would like to know if it's worth doing before making the switch. Thanks in advance.

I was hoping to avoid that. Disinfectant feels a bit high tech for Skyrim. Perhaps some kind of herbal ointment or magic potion. I was thinking of it more as a minor optional feature than a whole extra layer of complexity for every single piercing that a player might want to heal.

Tanning is a great idea, I'm not sold on the tanning booth though.  I strongly prefer in-skyrim-universe implementation.  There is a natural way to get a tan after all.   Generally I'm a believer that if you can do something without magic, it's better storytelling to do it without magic (and tanning booths would pretty much have to be magic).

The simplest implementation would be to just play a suitable animation of the PC lounging and then apply a tan, but you could do a lot more.  As an improvement, weather detection is possible so restrict sunbathing to non-rainy weather.  It's probably a good idea to restrict it based on location too, maybe just to the steam vent areas, and the warmer parts of the Riften area?  It would also be cool for maintaining a tan to take up in game time so maybe.

I often use this mod as a bimbo-lite, to represent my PC becoming less interested in adventuring and more interested in bimbo-ish pursuits.  I'm always looking for activities that allow me to bend a little more of her adventures around that kind of stuff.  Making it weather/time/location dependent would add some great emergent storytelling moments as the player would have to send their character adventuring to achieve a tan.

Another fun extension of this could be an 'ugly tan lines' mechanic.  A negative fashion penalty obtained by spending time in sunny area's and/or sunny weather while not stripping down for a proper sunbathing session.  So a player could avoid this new hazard by avoiding the area/weather or by maintaining a full tan.  You could extend this even further by adding sunscreen, and possibly a sun burn mechanic (maybe implement cloaks/sun hats too?).  With a few of these mechanics built, a menu toggle could allow players to roleplay a 'fair maiden' that receives the fashion bonus for having no tan at all.

Other alternatives would be spray tans/other alchemical solutions.  Those have the same problem as a tanning booth of just being Push button>>tan.  aka the same gameplay loop as the character creation menu.

Tanning booth was the first thing to come to mind. Could be still have to get in the sun to get a tan, but there could be some tanning lotions to help speed things along.

Maintaining a healthy tan could contribute to fashion addiction as well...

Not really. They had alcohol and the alchemists understood distilling so 150 proof would do a bang-up job of cleaning the infected area. Now, once the area is sterile you still have to heal the infection, but wouldn't a trip to the local temple solve that problem?

Would there be any chance to add a scroll to add and remove the dialogue options for the stylists/piercing artists?
Exchange Currency has that feature and I think it could be a good utility for people who want to RP a bit more immersively.

I had some feedback and suggestions related to one of the new features added in a recent update:

So first, I noticed what I assume is a bug with a recent feature. When I uncheck the "Apply Hair Length (De-)Buffs" setting in the MCM menu, while it disables the feature for most of the buffs and debuffs, it doesn't disable the fashion level changes for longer and shorter hair. This seems like something it should disable too, especially since the adjustment of the hair length fashion buffs with this feature made having neck length or shorter hair more punishing to speech skill than in previous versions of the mod.

This also got me thinking about these buffs and debuffs a bit more, and while I think it's a nice additional feature, long hair always being better for fashion and short hair always being worse for fashion seems very rigid and limiting. It makes sense as the default because that fits the mod's main quest and many people's preferences, but I also think those buffs and debuffs being forced and impossible to disable them or adjust what gives positive or negative buffs hurts the immersion and roleplay aspects, because it won't match the preferences of all characters or players. For some examples, one character might be a serious-minded soldier who feels more confident when keeping her hair more short and practical at around ear length, or another character might be an elegant and charismatic noble who prefers keeping her hair at chin or neck length bobs. But with the current way it's implemented, both these characters would always have a -1 to fashion level because hair length gives a fashion debuff until it reaches shoulder length or longer, even though that doesn't make sense for these characters based on their preferences. We already have the very customizable thoughts system that lets us roleplay all of these aspects however we want for our characters, but the gameplay buffs and debuffs being one way only can conflict with that and hurt immersion.

I think it would be good to have a way to adjust what hair lengths give a buff or debuff, that way there's more flexibility similar to how there already is for many of the other options in this mod. A simpler way would probably be to just add a toggle that reverses what lengths get positive and negative fashion buffs. A more ideal but also probably harder way would be letting us pick and customize what lengths and style types (such as ponytails and mohawks) give a positive or negative fashion buffs.

Another way to do it that could be more immersive but also probably more complicated would be if the preference for the character can change automatically over time based on their hair style, a bit like how fashion addiction works. Maybe a character would start to like shorter hair and dislike longer hair because she got used to having it short, and this could also happen the other way around, or maybe a character will start to like mohawks which are a style that usually gives a negative fashion buff because she had one for a while, but if she sticks to more normal non-mohawk styles for a while after that this will decay and she'll start to dislike them and get a negative fashion buff from them again.

One other suggestion with this new feature is that I think the non-fashion level (de-)buffs could be made stronger. Currently, they're like this:

Cropped hair or shorter: +10 Carrying Capacity, -10 Ice Resistance, +10 Fire Resistance, -2 Illusion, +2 Heavy Armor, +2 Light Armor

Ear to neck length: +5 Carrying Capacity, -5 Ice Resistance, +5 Fire Resistance, -1 Illusion, +1 Heavy Armor, +1 Light Armor

Bra strap to waist length: +1 Fashion, -5 Carrying Capacity, +5 Ice Resistance, -5 Fire Resistance, +1 Illusion, -1 Heavy Armor, -1 Light Armor

Tailbone Length: +2 Fashion, -10 Carrying Capacity, +10 Ice Resistance, -10 Fire Resistance, +2 Illusion, -2 Heavy Armor, -2 Light Armor

Mid-thigh length and longer: +3 Fashion, -15 Carrying Capacity, +15 Ice Resistance, -15 Fire Resistance, +3 Illusion, -3 Heavy Armor, -3 Light Armor

I think aside from the fashion level, which can quickly add or remove large amounts of speech skill, most of these seem very low impact, where their effect is barely noticeable. That may be fine if it's supposed to be mainly for flavor, but if it's supposed to be something that actually affects gameplay some, I think it could be made stronger. Maybe something like this:

Cropped hair or shorter: +20 Carrying Capacity, -30 Ice Resistance, +30 Fire Resistance, -10 Illusion, +8 Heavy Armor, +8 Light Armor

Ear to neck length: +10 Carrying Capacity, -15 Ice Resistance, +15 Fire Resistance, -5 Illusion, +4 Heavy Armor, +4 Light Armor

Bra strap to waist length: +1 Fashion, -10 Carrying Capacity, +15 Ice Resistance, -15 Fire Resistance, +4 Illusion, -4 Heavy Armor, -4 Light Armor

Tailbone Length: +2 Fashion, -20 Carrying Capacity, +30 Ice Resistance, -30 Fire Resistance, +8 Illusion, -8 Heavy Armor, -8 Light Armor

Mid-thigh length and longer: +3 Fashion, -30 Carrying Capacity, +45 Ice Resistance, -45 Fire Resistance, +12 Illusion, -12 Heavy Armor, -12 Light Armor

This is just my suggestion of course, so the numbers could be adjusted in any way you think is best if you even adjust them at all.

Aside from that feedback I had some other suggestions too. I use this mod on all my playthroughs, but mainly use it for the immersion, roleplay and fashion adjustment and maintenance aspects, so these suggestions will be related more to those things.

1.) Have it so fire (from things like dragons, fire traps and magic spells) will have a small chance of burning and damaging your character's hair when hit by it if you don't take precautions. The precautions can be similar to some of the new fashion consumable items that don't have visual effects, maybe a hair protection serum that will protect the hair for a while. Or other possible ways could be wearing a helmet to protect the hair, or maybe even wearing braided hair styles, because tight buns and braids, won't catch on fire as easily as loose and flowing hair.

When hair gets damaged by fire, it could either be handled simpler, where it's an immediate decrease in hair length and that's it (probably only 1-2 stages, or adjustable by the player), or it could be more involved, where hair being burned causes it to be in a "fire damaged" state, where it will give a significant fashion debuff and also make the hair grow slower or even have growth completely stunted until the damaged hair is taken care of. Then taking care of it would just be getting the singed ends trimmed off by a stylist, which would decrease hair length by a stage or two. The damage and length that need cutting could also possibly vary depending on how many times the hair got damaged before it was taken care of, or it could just be a one time debuff that doesn't get any worse but also doesn't get any better until you take care of it.

I partly had this idea because YPS Fashion already has some features like this with makeup, where it can smudge from things like swimming and battle, and the recent hair length (de-)buffs decrease fire resist for long hair and decrease it for short hair, so it fits well with those existing features. Another reason is because most of YPS Fashion's features already have some aspects that push you to maintain them. Makeup has smudging and a limited duration which forces you to reapply it, nail polish is also limited with its duration and with a smudge chance if you aren't careful, and hair coloration will fade and wear off after a while. (Like all of those features, if this suggestion is added, the chance for hair to be damaged by fire should also be a toggleable option so it isn't forced on everyone.)

Unlike those other things, with hair length, it only keeps growing longer over time, and longer hair also gives better fashion buffs, so there's no maintenance aspect to it as the other things have. So this isn't only an idea I find cool and immersive, but I also think this would give hair length some of that maintenance aspect the other fashion features have, and make the fashion buffs that come from long hair with the default settings be something that takes some care to earn.

Another possibility for something that could damage hair or force more protection/maintenance aspects would be bladed weapons having a chance to damage or cut it some, but bladed weapons are much more frequent than fire, so unless it was a very low chance or with more ways to limit it, it might be too frequent a risk.

2.) Have a small chance of long manicured nails chipping from certain actions. It could be from laborious tasks like mining, smithing and woodcutting, or maybe even from using melee weapons in combat. This could potentially also be something that can be protected against by adding a temporary protective coating that strengthens the nails. I partly had this idea because Shas' Equippable Hand Nails was recently implemented into this mod, so it might be possible to simulate nails chipping by just unequipping the hand nails from that, then not allowing you to re-equip them or get another manicure until enough time's passed and they've "grown out" again. This is another feature that should probably be togglable if it gets added, so people will have a choice.

3.) It would be nice if there was a way for us to edit what hair colors were available at the fashion stylists. I know we already can have 1 custom color we can adjust, but I would like the ability to remove or replace the default colors too if that's possible to add. A big reason why I would like this is because I like to use the hair model feature sometimes, but when I use that, the stylist sometimes picks one of the colors that are a very bright and saturated neon colors, which I find a bit unimmersive with how much they stand out and clash with everything, and also just don't like the look of.

4.) The ability to model for makeup like we can for hairstyles, where we'd let the stylist pick an eyeshadow and lipstick, then we can't remove it for the duration of the modeling, even if it smudges.

What exactly do you mean? I know that some NPCs have many dialogue options, some can be disabled with MCM already (like girl talk).

Thank you for these very good suggestions. Currently I am revamping the professional nails system, so I might include the "nail chipping" feature. But it will take quite some time before working on the hair (making the hair colors configurable in a json file would of course be a good thing). Changing (de)buffs is easily done, so I will look into it sooner.

Thank you for considering my suggestions! I'm glad to hear some of them are easy to do and may come soon, and it's nice to know some the others may be looked into and possibly added in the future!
