There are three options:

- editing the head rear mesh and regenerating all NPCs, then shipping the files in a "fixed heads" mod.

- pointing the head rear mesh to a separate texture (works for player only, is what CBBE currently does).

- changing CBBE to use the vanilla UV layout (means remaking all textures and quality will suffer from the UV).

How about pointing the body mesh to a separate texture? Wouldn't that be less work that pointing every npc head mesh to another texture?

Ok I've been wrangling with Fallout 4 edit for days trying to workout a way to make vault suits and other body armor invisible so we can see CBBE. I can make all TORSO armor invisible (I made my own mod for that) but any armor that uses many different nodes (body) makes the character invisible.

Would appreciate if anybody could work on an invisible armor. I would use Badilator's nude mod but he got banned from Nexus and isn't distributing his files here.

I made it easy with Colossus Armor from Nexus, can't remember Autor of mod. Intall Colossus armor, copy generated CBBE body nifs in different location and rename to Colossus nifs names (Colossus1stpersonHands, ColossusBodyFemale, ColossusHansFemale) smething like that. Copy to Colossus folder and enjoy wiew of CBBE wonderful body.

I honestly think the best way to go would be to just make a completely new head mesh.  Something that goes along well with CBBE to fill in the neck gap.  If anything it would improve all npcs in the game as well if we had a good base to go with the chargen.

I don't think it would affect the character creation of the face either, since those look to be nodes as well.  It would also prevent any change in the skintone, which would be important if you had a hairstyle/helm that uncovered the back of the head.

I didn't really look carefully enough, but does the triangle slider for thin/muscular/heavy change the neck size?  From the looks of it it mainly moves the bone nodes around, like the breast/rib/shoulder/collar.

Also we can hope since the Japanese version of Fallout 4 is now out, that someone like tktk will make it :D

New headmesh would still need to use the vanilla textures unless you want to break compatibility with even more mods: stuff like makeup, brows, tattoos etc. stuff that doesn't have anything to do with the actual face-body seams. So I'm assuming you just want one with a higher poly count for better morphs but with the same UV. What does this have to do with a body mesh mod? It's beyond its scope.

will it bounce? that's the important question

EVENTUALLY! But not yet, as it is G.E.C.K limitations

TBH I'm hoping for some better male models and female faces, the males in fallout 4 can sometimes be rather well, fugly.

@Mickter - Hey, no need for hostility.  I'm not asking Caliente, or anyone in the CBBE team to make it.  I was just tossing the idea out there.  Not sure if you bothered to look at my join date, but this isn't my first rodeo.

I myself, am a modder, and would be interested in actually doing something like this.  In terms of the things you listed, they are all textures.  That's easily fixable by obviously making all new textures.  In fact I may know quite a few texture modders that would be very interested in doing this.

I brought it up because of the fact the back of the head mesh is uv mapped to the body texture at this moment for CBBE.  Which is what Cell was talking about in the above posts.

I'm all for work arounds, and was just offering a different route.  This type of mod will happen eventually anyways, with or without my interest in it.

@ Silvist

It wasn't my intention to come across as hostile, sorry if I gave that impression. I know you're not a neophyte when it comes to modding, it just seemed like an odd suggestion seeing the scope of a body mod and especially since your proposition seems to suggest changes that would need editing not only face textures but also overlays like makeup and all that. Those are a lot of texture that you'd have to "port" over. Remember the fun times of googly eyes in Oblivion because people were producing textures for different eye UVs, now imagine that for face overlays (vanilla replacers and custom standalone ones).

Either way, I suggest not dragging this conversation on too much, it's not really the point of this thread.

@ShadowGearX - You can use textures from Skyrim, albeit you convert them yourself to the new dds format.  I'm of course referring to the diffuse ones, which is the texture full of pink flesh :D  The other maps like _msn, and _s are a bit different in FO4.

Honestly, I did test a couple myself, but the ones Caliente made for the FO4 version were far better.

So I installed CBBE_Fo4_alpha_v0_2a and BodySlide_Fo4_alpha_v0_3a (no other body mods) and this is what I get in-game when I'm naked?

Anyone know what's causing it? This is my mod-list:

I know, but I promise you. Someone who knows how to edit textures would of just tried, like you did. lol

None of the vanilla armours seems to work with the body. I can't play without my grognak outfit

Yeah, gotta wait for a vanilla clothing mesh conversion for this body. I honestly prefer that over the skimpy converters for alot of things.

Have you unchecked the CBBE.esp plugin in your mod manager?

I really appreciate all these responses, thanks so much. Yes, first I unchecked CBBE.esp, when that didn't work I deleted it. I also made sure that it is not in my plugins.txt.

can i use the cbbe body textures from skyrim with this?

Yes and no in a way. I recently had relative success converting the Fair Skin Complexion mod's textures over from Skyrim. The body file is a straight swap, the face and hands however required editing in Photoshop (the face extensively).

Thank you Cell for the CBBE Body Slider. Works like a charm and looks wonderful.

With the right slider i manage it to use every vanilla armor piece and the harness of course without nearly glitches. I prefer slim womans, so perfect for me.

Here a quick album with Cait: http://imgur.com/a/4KqWJ

The preset have i post here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/55131-share-our-bodies/page-2

If anyone want to use this.

Try removing valkyr textures, not only deactivating the mod.

Also armor modifications may be changing textures too.

One of your mods is interfering with the meshes and textures.

Remember your cbbe files (.nif and .dds) must be on the right folders.

Yes Valkyr meshes calls for female head and body textures so if face made with Valkyr mod it may still use body textures from that mod.

Most if not all the problems is caused by people testing this alpha version with multiple mods installed automatically. When testing a mod please test the mod in question individually first before trying to mess with other mods with it.

Actually this is the other way around. The problem here is that you have CBBE texture on a vanilla mesh. Make sure your mesh is the one from bodyslider. Maybe you should install this manually.
