AnubiSs2167 Posted April 8, 2017 Author Posted April 8, 2017 But here a good example: A 2 days new LL Sims animator: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/75996-sims-4aos-animation-forced-sex-animation-02a/ He opened A patreon this morning nothing for now for patrons and already 2 patrons. Just over few hours... So the sims comunities is really ready to support you for your stuff. And even if you do not like sims, I do not either,.. I'm sure it will bring you more satisfaction. You will probably not have the feeling of wasting your time anymore. Skyrim looks better yeah of course I lke the graphic style too but... bah.. mhhh.. what else? ^^ Wow thats crazy, no offense to that guy i know he is still learning but judging from a gif i found in the thread i would not want that anim for free. You realy gona make me depressed Kom. I hate sims so much, everything from gameplay to how the characters look. If i would animate for sims it would 100% to make money, no passion or creativness. Dont think i can force myself to have two jobs, even if it would mean more cash.

I have been studying the subject for some weeks now. And if it makes you depressed, I am almost or even much, >< This last year I only sleep between 3 and 5h big max to work my day and on my stuff, In the long run we adapt ourselves to everything with some coffee... lol But this is also why I re-evaluate everything. And I'm starting to have a very good view of the thing, I'm far from being an idiot. >< But I feel like I'm completely there if I continue to make animations for Skyrim like I do. lol Now I imagine more and more some machines in the sims. This time when I ask myself the question "is it worth it?", Probably yes, maybe it's worth trying... If I want to change games it is to continue evolving because animation is a real passion and I would always do things seriously. The passion is linked to you and your work and not to a game, does not forget it. The goal is not to become rothschildt, stay honest but to no longer have the sensation to pass for the turkey of the stuffing. It is possible to make good animations in all games, it is as always, more or less work... The Sims 4 is not too bad I already play, it is possible to do something good. Even if the graphic style is more "cartoon".. But believe me I could surely make that more dirty. Some things are better in sims like for facial expressions and sounds. It's possible to made nice things and "easier" if you take care. For the moment I'm talking about sims, but there are rumors around mass effect andromeda, which could have a very big potential. Also Fallout 4 now...., but I feel it will follow the same path as Skyrim, If you watch the leito animations for FO4 it has less download than the new animator of Sims4. The true reality man, now even Leito can't rivalize with a little new Sims 4 animator. On the other hand we can also say that bethesda killed his game. I am on another forum in my native language, there is practically no more activities..
Khlas Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 The only way I can imagine being able to make money animating sex animations for Skyrim would be charging a decent price for the commission, similar to the one you already do, then paywalling the SLAL pack for something very cheap like a dollar/pound/euro. LoversLab community rule #12: We are a free and open community; members requiring payment for mods, support, or putting anything behind a paywall will be removed without warning. Donation buttons/links to support an author is fine, so long as nothing is promised, given, or rewarded other than a sense of satisfaction for supporting an author or owner of content. It's funny because a lot of animators break this rule. They ask directly people to support them so they will release more for free. I think we can called it promise. Moreover, some of them (almost all) gives rewards if you support them, and they promise that they will release them for free later. Instead of giving warning to people, mods should probably apply the rule or change it, because the rule is old. But here a good example: A 2 days new LL Sims animator: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/75996-sims-4aos-animation-forced-sex-animation-02a/ He opened A patreon this morning nothing for now for patrons and already 2 patrons. Dont think i can force myself to have two jobs, even if it would mean more cash. There are like 3 guys that are beginners at animation (at least to me, judging the quality of the animations), and they share their work via a patreon. They earn more than $1000 per month. Yes, this is crazy and absurd. Ironically, the best animators from the Sims community share their stuff for free, and it seems they don't plan to use a patreon or something. (even if they'll deserve it more)
GrimReaper Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Yeah , not going to happen. I always thought that living out of animating is just a unreachable dream. Then i found mikes patreon with almost 3k $ a month. Now im super bitter considering im starting my 1st 10h shift next week for 400$ a month. Ive chosen the wrong game it seems. I dont want to realese any more free stuff but at the same time i dont think anyone will pay for it either. So im in kinda deadlock now where everyones loses. The youtuber VaatiVidya makes a couple thousand bucks each month for a couple of videos each month where he just reads wiki entries and reddit posts. Life's not fair, I guess.
arsenic20 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 If an Animator has patrons who do willing pay for animations and also can afford to then its only right that the animator show the appreciation by providing animations for those paying patrons early. Then to kindly release those same animations for free at a later date for others. I see no issue with this. My fear is that eventually all animators would stop providing any free animations or late released work and only animate for paying patrons. I'm not criticizing you or anyone who shares this view, but I'll go farther and say that I personally don't care if paid-for content ever gets released for free. While your fear is your favorite animators charging money, mine is seeing my favorite animators vanishing. Your hell may be seeing your favorite animations behind a paywall, but mine is seeing them disappear forever. I don't ask for anything from someone who animates bestiality in a video game other than to provide something that few others can and are willing to. When that itself is at stake, things like good will, generosity, and community tradition can eat shit. That's my honest opinion, and I've been called "selfish asshole" and "literal cancer" for it, for which I have no counterargument. I will support any step Anubis takes unless it's off a cliff (as an active animator, not literally). But if he does decide to quit, then I offer my understanding.
Guest Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 From what I have seen in Patreon the only way to really be successful first you need your name out there. Make some amazing animations, beautiful characters and... film a little story. tweek it even further and then post it on Pornhub. Like this guy. He even uses Skyrim assets! https://www.pornhub.com/view_video.php?viewkey=2010129633 (yep thats 1.5 million views) then you link your Patreon right at the bottom that says. "join us for next months straw poll for what we do next!" Then you add ranks. those with 2$ or more get the animations immediately, those with with 5$ get the character assets and participate in polls, 10$ patreons get to choose what is on the polls and what gets made. The more high quality stuff you produce the more patreons you get. You just need to constantly keep them interested though and thats just exhausting I think.
TheOniNinja Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I personally feel 100% that if the choice is between a modder leaving the scene or charging for their mods then they should go, and I say that as someone whose favourite animation in Skyrim is one of Anub's. It's always sad to see an author with talent stop modding but if the creation of content alone is no longer fulfilling without being paid for it then there's nothing else for it. Releasing an animation mod wouldn't even be possible, remember, without the hundreds of hours of groundwork that's already been done for all of us, for free. FNIS and SexLab. SKSE. TES5EDIT and the Creation Kit. If all of that work can be released for free why should any other mod be any different? Back during the Paid Workshop fiasco SkyUI tried to go the paid modding route and got no end of backlash for it, and we wouldn't even have MCM without that. As mentioned already, above and by others in this discussion, the Skyrim community at large isn't willing to pay for mods, and as someone with very little disposable income myself I'm inclined to see why. If someone wants to flaunt their deep pockets and have all the exclusive content they want then they can fuck off to the Sims Paysites or Second Life in my opinion. Because that's the alternative I forsee; paying for your character model, your skins, your hair, your clothes, animations, locations, everything. Open up Mod Organizer or NMM or Wrye Bash right now, take a look at your Skyrim mod list and imagine if everything on there cost maybe a dollar at least. Arsenic20's right, that's where I do fear we'll end up if we give paid modding an inch. You can read this as the rant of someone who could never produce anything anyone would actually want, and you'd probably be right about that, but I've still put hundreds of hours of my own into modding this game alongside TESIV and III, sharing what I can when I can, for nothing but the enjoyment of it and I've seen plenty of modders come and go because the enjoyment of it is no longer enough. If Anub decides they can no longer justify the time spent animating or even decided to remove everything on this site and disappear as others have before it would be disappointing to say the very least but Anub would be well within the rights of a modder to do so. It would be sad but not nearly as sad as seeing only those with tons of money able to enjoy this game. Or the next game, or the one after that, whenever paid modding inevitably gains a foothold. Patreon has its uses for sure; for services, like LL's forums, and new IP games and software but too often its tendency is to ruin every fucking thing it touches. It ruined SFM, it ruined the Sims even more than it was already ruined by various donation sites in the past and now it's trying to ruin Fallout and TES too. I think it should be nipped in the bud while it still can be. That's my unasked-for opinion on the matter, since those seem to be piling up here of late.
arsenic20 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Arsenic20's right, that's where I do fear we'll end up if we give paid modding an inch. Not sure where that came from lol; if I'm reading your opinion correctly, you and I have diametrically opposing positions on this. I don't want paid modding to be the norm either and things like this are certainly the first step down that path. Thing is, if it were any other mod we were talking about, I'm sure I would agree with you. Needless to say if he does go that route, it shouldn't be done here. You just need to constantly keep them interested though and thats just exhausting I think. You could use a per-submission plan, which I imagine has much less pressure, though that has its own share of problems.

I think in the future ill try to install sims and try to mod it. I will see if i can stand the game on its own. And maybe when ill have more free time and ill try to read some tutorials on how to animate for it. I agree that i dont see a bright future for FO4, nor even for next ES game. I think bathesta is losing their grip as bioware did sometime ago. I dont know why people are excited for andromeda. It doesnt look like a modding material from any angle to me. Characters are disgusting and the story heavy driven linear gameplay does not encourage any quest mods.
sophiextime Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I agree regarding Andromeda. I enjoyed playing the Mass Effect games ( 1, 2 & 3) and will likely play Andromeda at some point but not with any view as a modded game, just a fun play through. I do not think its a game that bloom with mods. I also agree that Fallout4 has a doubtful future for the sexlab style mods. It hasnt been the game for me. I have found that my PC struggles to run it. Bethesda decided to use a texture streaming system that can cause a lot of soapy textures for anyone that does not have a high spec PC. Its a common issue and easily found on many topics and forums when googled. My fear is that the next Elder Scrolls game will be with the same texture system. I run 200 mods in Skyrim on Ultra settings and i never get any texture or lag issues. Fallout 4 i cant even run on medium graphics with only 50 mods. I get an hour into the game and surfaces all around me are popping in and out of detail. I have tried almost every tip and suggestion to get it stable but cannot. That was enough for me to uninstall the game and i think a lot of people struggle with the game for that. So any mods made for FO4 are pointless to me. Skyrim is dated and has had its peak i guess with mods. I only really add animation mods now. I have a stable heavily modded game that has all the immersive mods i ever wanted as well as all the Sexlab mods i know work well on it. I have a lot of hours into my current character and do not wish so corrupt that profile or aves with a new heavy script story or quest mod etc. Animations however i adore and always look for to add variety to that aspect of the game. I refine the ones i use. But Skyrim is a game many go back to and replay so much. It was a success in my eyes even in a Vanilla state. I think it will always be a popular game and never abandoned in the modding community, at least i hope and pray it wont.

It would be quite scam to make a patreon and then realese 1 animation per 2 months. Why not, you work on it, even if it's after work, If someday you have enough Patreon you can maybe live only with your work. It is by trying to evolve little by little so that one day you may arrive at something. If you do not try anything, nothing will happen. I had the same attiude as you when i was a leecher/lurker. But spending 4h a day animating or 1h to upload gifs, creating slal packs and manage the topic every update gave me new perspective. I did not lose my passion for animating, quite oposite. What is this all realy worth it when creators are discarded like trash when they stop pomping out free content. Yes the vision of the users is totally different for some, they want everthing free otherwise you are someone bad. But look what happens with CEO, few people really care about him, apart from his stuff. If, on the whole, people do not care about you and if they think only of themselves, think of you too. lol All in all you are mostly respected when you produce, afterwards, you will have just one or the other good luck, without someone really worries about your situation, and you simply disappear sadly. Besides I believe that I am the only one tried to bring you ideas of evolution rather than seeing you sinked. Some will prefer to see you die on Skyrim for their little pleasures, me I prefer to see you evolve. Looks like the truth hit you were earlier then me, or probaly you were just alot smarter to realize it faster. I think in the future ill try to install sims and try to mod it. I will see if i can stand the game on its own. And maybe when ill have more free time and ill try to read some tutorials on how to animate for it. It doesnt look like a modding material from any angle to me. Characters are disgusting and the story heavy driven linear gameplay does not encourage any quest mods. As I told you I'm far from being stupid. ^^ But I mostly open my eyes and I am realistic. You know this "story" started for me a couple of weeks ago with someone making videos for Patrons by trying to use one of my animations. Fortunately I had my eyes open, but believe me that it put a slap in my face and break my mood when I saw this and since then I reconsider everything. I already knew that sims was more profitable but it did not bother me more than that, it is really this video 'story' that was the trigger and that made me go deeper research.. Andromeda is well bugged, I do not want to play at all. But if it opens with modding, I see the potential in terms of animation. As I told you it's animation that interests me above all. However I see a lot of professional interested in making Mocap etc, The bar will be high enough, it will have to surpass to do something with our hands, it should be good to improve our skills. ^^ I continue my tentacles for Skyrim, change the Patreon, then I would see how it evolves, but I will soon install the sims also to take this in hand. But I need a new hard drive first because I do not know where I could put it for now. >< With what I still have to do, Maybe you'll be a little ahead of me with the sims when I get there. In any case know that you have my support and do not hesitate to contact me if you need help. If I can help you I will. Who knows maybe one day we can work on a very big project together...
TarnisMartell Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Stupid Question maybe but... are falmer seen as creature (and only to be found in creature packs/ working with creature framework) or are they humanoid and therefor party of the "human" pack?
Jexsam Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 The siren call of cash lures another away. Bye, I guess.
Grahf84 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 I would support your Patron..... just saying thanks for all your work though.
GrimReaper Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 And i see ppl making my dream a reality for themselves with alot less effort all around me. It will make you reevaluate things. What is this all realy worth it when creators are discarded like trash when they stop pomping out free content. Where exactly were you discarded like a piece of trash? When you got 32 upvotes for your goodbye post? When you recieved one and a half page full of 'farewell and I hope it gets better for you soon' messages?

Yeah, I don't see that either, also I probably wouldn't mind paying a reasonable price for animations on patreon either. Assuming I can play this game again. I'm mainly lurking here because I'm interested about what is new. Well anyway, I hope it works out for Anub, someone this good at animation shouldn't be doing 10 hour shifts to make a living. Too bad violence and hardcore gore is okay but not sex in adult games i guess.
Guest swaglol Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Are new troll animations released? link plz They're not coming out, Anub said that a page ago.
AnubiSs2167 Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 tl:dr lol Im sorry if i insulted you. Anyways in the end i did exactly what you wanted me to do, i made anims in my free time as i stated that i will, and kept em for myself. I did not put price tag on em, nor am i getting hundreds priv messages of ppl offering to buy em. I made them for myself but i wanted to share the gifs as im pretty proud of how they turned out. Call it vanity on my part. Then mikes patreon happend and i got triggered, and so the money talk started. The siren call of cash lures another away. Bye, I guess. Oh, a leech is getting salty just from a mere idea that he would have to pay for something? Thats new. I havent thrown anything your way buddy, you are in my topic, so yeah , bye. Where exactly were you discarded like a piece of trash? When you got 32 upvotes for your goodbye post? When you recieved one and a half page full of 'farewell and I hope it gets better for you soon' messages? Wow them upvoted realy carried me thru rough times. I carry the screenshot in my wallet and look at them evertime life goes dark Altho i got some genuine help so ill take this moment to thank ppl tha tprobably did not upvoted. Ppl like a guy that gave me fake comission just after i posted my ferwell, just so he can pay me and not feel like a handout, you know who you are! Guy who offered to help me with techicalities of starting a patreon page (even tho i declined, put down your torches). Komotor for being there always with wise word and for having my back. All the guys that comissioned work from me over the years, giving me sense of purpose (even you, you blue commie bastard! you know who you are! ) I can assure you that ppl who wrote anything were a small minority of the userbase of my work. Most thought "another one bites the dust, meh ,another will pop up soon". Just another Billy, 4D, Mitos, Evacuation, ce0, just another tick in my slal mcm. Just another Billy, 4D, Mitos, Evacuation, ce0, just another tick in my slal mcm. i'll have you know that i am a bit worried about Evacuation!!!, they may be sent to jail or worse because of there animations. Jail? How so? Yeah...Evacuation lives in some part of the world where it's illegal to be in possession of porn in ANY form...so yeah..
Jexsam Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 The siren call of cash lures another away. Bye, I guess. Oh, a leech is getting salty just from a mere idea that he would have to pay for something? Thats new. I havent thrown anything your way buddy, you are in my topic, so yeah , bye. Well, you're not completely wrong. I haven't produced anything worthwhile since SexoutRocket in... what was it, 2013? Only thing I've put out since then was a quick, bad tentacle outfit recolor. Not even enough combined to get Contributor status. So while very derogatory and rather telling about what you really think of your fans, I am in fact a leech. But you assume salt where there is merely disappointment. See, what you seem to have forgotten is the Elder Scrolls modding community thrives on largely unrestricted redistribution. You get a few credits permissions here and there and some folks are a bit anal about certain things, but there's one thing in this community that has never managed to come to fruition without getting shot down - paywalls. This has made the community incredibly easy to get into in most aspects. Where assets aren't freely given, information tends to be given instead, like what programs are needed to get started modeling or animating. This lack of barrier to entry also means it's very easy for anyone to mod their game 'til it bleeds without having to spend a dime beyond official releases. Can you imagine if Caliente had Bodyslide behind a paywall? If any outfit that wasn't a vanilla conversion was cash only? If Sexlab was a DLC cash shop scheme? Just imagine what your own install would look like now if half the modders whose mods you use were paywalled. Would you pay? I doubt it, given you're complaining about money already anyway. Yet you expect others to do exactly that now. You are announcing that you are against everything that has made this community great, and that... is disappointing. If you want to make money from animations, Sims and SFM are right there. Both of those avenues are already well entrenched in their money-making models (as well as their elitist cliques and hellish permissions schemes that make any tumblr drama here look positively civil). But the Elder Scrolls modding community is not the place for that. I know what it's like to make next to nothing for long shifts, and I respect your will to put a skill to use to supplement that income to live a little better, I just disagree with your disregard for this community in how you're choosing to do it.
Revenn Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Anubis can you make more footjob scene Female to male ? your animation is one of the best, i very like it but offers not enough "normal" not animal and beast scene.

Funny thing is i never advocated for all mods to be behind paywall. If every mod was for cash would i still play skyrim - no. But its more of a diffrent case. What you are proposing is a slipery slope scenario. Lets talk about a hipotetical situation that is closer to this. My favorite modder is Enai Saion. Im using 4 of his mods. If he suddenly said, "ive done another mod but fuck it , it costs 10 bucks!" I would buy it, firstly cuz i already know that i like his mods and secondly cuz i owe him for the previous ones. I got invited to the cinama few weeks ago, paid 3 euro for ticket and 7 euro for macdonalds. Im sure everyone makes decisions like that at some point. If you look at this like that suddenly 10 euros for a mod seems like more resonable option then mcdonalds and shitty movie. Maybe it would motivate him to make another mod, maybe it would be free maybe not, but same as swaglol id rather choose between buying or not buying then just plain not getting anything at all. Im sure alot of modders felt undercompensated and just vanished quietly from a scene. Def a more dignified and safe of option if you want to save your good name. I contemplated it for a while before i wrote a goodbye post but it turned out im not realy dignified at all.
