Definitely excited, regardless of how it looks. I think it looks just fine for what I was expecting. I mean, it's Fallout 4. Been waiting a long time for this. Going to hold off judgement till we get more info.

Made me reinstall Fallout 3 now just to play around while I wait. :P

What city is that? Boston?

That's what I'm thinking. From the little half-circle flag thing and the building style, it looks like some of the architecture of the northeast. Boston is the only city that fits the bill (in my head =p).

I'm mainly wondering why they pushed the reveal trailer the week before e3 when they paid money to get their own conference. Reveal trailers dont really hype me up for a game tbh, but this is as good a time as ever to finally sit down and play NV.

My guess is that they will have actual gameplay at E3. The trailer was just to try and build hype.

For the city (and note that this is someone who lives in Scotland and has only ever been to the US once). People have suggested Boston which seems logical However I feel that Detroit and Philadelphia could also be strong contenders if its going to be set on the East Coast

Although it could also be set in the northwest (Ie Oregon or Washington)

Someone else mentioned Chicago.

I honestly don't see why they don't come to the southern union states. It's in there lore and everything.

Wow, this game seems to have pretty much everything to be a great Fallout or a Mad Max game.

No it doesn't.  While it's nice to see a trailer without the pee-green filter of fallout 3, you still see the crappy LOD from Skyrim.  The animation they showcased actually looked worse than the sprites in Daggerfall.  Seriously, that dog looks like they hired a 12 year old to animate it.  No weight to it's movement and jerkier than a child watching a Pokemon episode.

It's legit. Cool I was hoping to be proven wrong. Finally can rest assure FO4 is alive and soon at our disposal.

Waiting to see the E3 2015 video as this will be the main discussion at hand. And the main question will popping up frequently about mods being on a monetizing system. But I'm certain they'll sugarcoat their responses for now.

I was talking about Rage in the sentence you quoted above, not the Fallout 4 trailer.

One feature I hope they added is Dual wielding one-handed weapons. Oh and vehicle travel, doesn't have to be drivable but maybe like FO2's Car? or maybe a ride able horse... a mutated horse... with a twisted horn... and claws for hooves... And shoot lazers from it's eyes and horn... And drops plasma poop that explode after a set amount of time... BEST HORSE EVER.

Oh and Romance, wished I could have wooed Cass... I mean I sorta did with mods(Thanks LL), but would be nice to have it in vanilla. Not the crappy "amulet weddings" of skyrim, thinking more like Mass Effect/Dragon Age kind of system.

Lastly... Dancing, I want to show off my character's awefulSOME dancing skills(Joking)

Nah,

I want an open world sand box game, not some sort of DAO or ME game.

I want a game that we can just mod and go sandbox in, sure there are a lot of people that demand graphics, storyline...thing is that sort of thing invites linear play and rail roads the available playstyle.

Open World stuff just isn't going to be as graphics intense as people seem to want it and that's a good thing, not all of us have graphics cards that cost as much as 3 months of rent money.

Ride horses? No thanks. Leave that for TES. Give me a chopper style and I'm good.

I'm diggin' the trailer. Looks cyberpunkish with the whole guy in the trench coat and the airship. WTF is up with that? Fallout meets Final Fantasy? Still cool, though. I was hoping this would revert to a more steampunk style post-apoc or cyberpunk ish. Both? I'll hella fucking take it and deposit that shit in my bank account.

Never said it was not sandbox. I said I wanted ROMANCE to be HANDLED like in ME/DA not the whole gameplay. If you want a more Fallout comparison then think of NV's Companions but push it more so that you can romance them, Based on their orientation they will shot you down on the spot or hint at an interest. Your reputation and/or karma can also affect where or not they will go for it.

If you want just sandbox then Fallout/Skyrim is not for you. The Story is as important as the open world the game is set at. And a story line doesn't mean it's linear.

FINE since horses are a no go then Bhramin and Deathclaw mounts. My point was transportation that's not walking/jogging. It's a BLIMP aka a Zepplim They EXIST not some random wooden ship that flies. So, it's not FF meets FO.

Rage was kinda forgettable crap actually. I played a few hours, then for some reason stopped and never got a real desire to return to it, despite paying for the game. Pretty graphics, car racing was enjoyable for a bit, and of course shooting was okay (it's id Software, the equivalent of expecting good writing in a Bioware game, at this point that what we're used to and it's not enough by itself where it used to be).

I guess I should stop making mods and releasing them to public eh.

I said IF just sandboxing is what you want. And your mods probably reflect that. You crave for more sandbox feature so you make mods that you'd find in sandbox games (realism like hunger, thirst, hygene, etc.) but if that's all you want then there are other games. What draws you to play FO(or TES) and mod it?

And No I don't want you quitting making mods. More awesome mods is appreciated.

Nah, I'm not offended. It'll take more than text to do that.

But I get your point. I know the difference, I was just joking about it because I was a FF follower for a long time and airships are commonly known in their games.

It's still a nice approach to a new era in the Fallout game. I've been saying it back for years that we need some sort of transportation because the world cannot sit in cavemen era. Wastelanders are out there and schematics have to be preserved and even though they do not have the sufficient technology anymore to rebuild modern transportation from pre-war era, They have to use what ever debris/scrap metal they can find to reinvent transportation. Hell, that's how it usually is. You can google post-apocalypse and find many strange vehicles created out of different stuff. And it was something that I felt needed to be added because the world cannot continue to live on like ants.

I'd be surprised if Rage was a good game, it was made by id after all, but it has good graphics (comparable to what we saw in the trailer today), vehicles and very appropriate environment (wasteland) design suitable for a Fallout/Mad Max type of game, which is probably even better than anything Bethesda can come up with. Never really interested in id's shooters but the name Rage came up in the Fallout 4 engine thread. It's powered by idTech 5, a potential engine for Fallout 4.

Had to clarify, and that comment about sounding offensive also applied to the other person I quoted. Since before some had gotten very... defensive after a small comment or a joke.

True, it's why I liked that one Car mod, the Chysile or something or rather. Cause it did feel like it was jury rigged together. It fit the setting since it was a car that's in the game just fixed up with other assets in the game.

Atleast give me a bike(bicycle) so I can go about my merry way singing/listening to "I want to ride my Bicycle"

who cares about graphic

fallout was always good story

and it should be that way

I never liked anything you ever said.

In till now XD

I don't think anyone is going to disagree that Fallout needs vehicles. (uh Madmax anyone)

I'm a bit surprised that some are totally against horses though (Postman), seems to me that horses should totally have been in FnV although that would have revealed too much about how dang small that map really was.

For one with the timeline of the Fallout series it'd make more since if there were horses and other vehicles...It'd be pretty dang cool to have a freakin cart, Thunderdome.

World size is going to matter, and yes there will be a lot of people just like me hoping that the game isn't as linear as FNV but more non-linear like Skyrim.

One thing I'm sure about is we get a Vault Start, which is significant to the genre!  Just hoping we get some action sooner in the start than normal and no rad roaches don't count.

It'd be more badass if our Vault got attacked and we had to gather up our family and escape.

As far as graphics go, uh we're modders?

I mean come on man we gots this.

Rage had potential. Played the game all the way and it had some fun moments; way too short of a game though as it felt like I playing a Battlefield, CoD, Crysis, etc. campaign; and it wasn't very challenging overall. If they actually added a decent multiplayer then the game would have at least some replay value to it.

The game looks pretty good and is somewhat smooth, I tihnk it would be at least a decent engine for games like Fallout. Although, I hope that they will create/revise an engine for Fallout 4 to address the many concerns of the past engines, although this is unlikely to happen.

In terms of transportation and the player. I hope it is minimal. I rather just see that floating blimp as showcase and other vehicles.

if anything, remove the fast travel from pipboy and let us pay for transportation. But make it pretty expensive so it's not something the player can commonly use. Last thing we need is game breaking when these open world sandbox are all about exploration.

There is that, part of the problem in say a game like BL2 was that cars made getting around too easy or were not used enough so you never really felt like you got your whole car fix going.
