winny257 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 In the end, Skyrim's position on this list is the deciding factor. A list of steam games sorted by approval rating among user reviews. Skyrim is #4. http://store.steampowered.com/search/?snr=1_4_4__12&term=#sort_by=Reviews_DESC&page=1 People can post their intellectual analysis of why Skyrim isn't that good, but the game is a huge commercial success. More than likely Bethesda will continue to refine the formula. I suspect though that lack of any any infomation on Fallout 4 or even their next game is likely because they are building a new engine in 64bit. This is just a sales \ price list and no "favorites" list. then tell me something with #25, Skyrim there are not two times, or maybe "however" once to get people and one for Martians.

Both Portal and Portal 2 are listed twice as well. Likely people's reviews counted for both standard and complete editions.

Impressive I don't know why Bethesda haven't done any major expansions and more DLCs. Lots of free money. I agree. Paradox has taken this route now with their games and i like it. Europa Universalis 4 for example gets a new DLC every few months and they keep the great game interesting even longer. Also Paradox has the quite nice policy to allow other players in MP games to play the DLCs as long as the host has them. Only minor complaint is that sometimes their expansions are a bit pricey, so if you are addicted to their games you easily end up spending >100€ (50€ base game +5-20€ per DLC/Addon). Their games are very modable too, so a similiar release model should fit well for Bethesda too.

...0... Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Its even 8.4 million right now unbelievable for solo RPG i think around same numbers as on XBOX and out sale PS3? Don't think it's grain of salt. Summer of 2013 june skyrim sold copies 20 million all platforms. After that like holliday sales, Darkone on nexus told they had slow site was cause of thousend's of new skyrim players who bought the game during holiday xmas season end 2013. I'll bet almost 2 years later sinds jine 2013 Bethesda sold probably nearer 25million copies?

Bethesda going billions lost. but how says one, stupidity must be punished.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics is still my favorite game of all time, followed very closely by the 1999 release of Homeworld. The Remastered version is ass because it uses the shitty HW2 engine. The only good thing they did was make the Hive Frig actually good.

Impressive I don't know why Bethesda haven't done any major expansions and more DLCs. Lots of free money. Two words: Horse Armor. Thirty-five words : If they pull that shit again I will drive to Bethesda, Maryland and punch Todd Howard and Pete Hines in the dick repeatedly (pretty sure I am not the only one that would do this).

...0... Posted April 26, 2015 Author Posted April 26, 2015 As of now im negative and i wish they did not sell so many copies. I wish bethesda go bankrupt with passion.

But i cannot believe this is true?..seems almost impossible(ok on june 2013 20mil copies sold official all platforms) This shows almost reach 30million copies this is INSANE?
bjornk Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 This shows almost reach 30million copies this is INSANE? Owners skyrim steam.png So, they have sold 8 million copies of Skyrim within 3 years and then just last week they sold almost 20 million more?! That graph's probably inaccurate, but if it is true then the last week's ordeal has been a great marketing success for both Valve and Bethesda.

pinky6225 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 It was free over that weekend http://store.steampowered.com/news/16507/ Good point, if they are counting installations via steam rather than purchases it being free would have screwed up the tracking. That said considering the lack of new open world RPG's and us having a population of 7 billion on the planet 30 million isn't that unbelievable

It, does. Steam spy is not affiliated with steam. It takes data from publicly available sources (bots that scan users, statistics ect).
bjornk Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 So, only 8 million people have bought the game since Dec 2011, but another 20 million also had been waiting for a free to play weekend to install Skyrim and they did within 3 days and then kept the game? Interesting.
windpl Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 So, only 8 million people have bought the game since Dec 2011, but another 20 million also had been waiting for a free to play weekend to install Skyrim and they did within 3 days and then kept the game? Interesting. No, that people were logged in when promotion was on. It is total number of steam users that were at last once online by time of free weekend.
bjornk Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Well, if it doesn't say anything about the actual number of owners, or even about the number of installations, then it's practically a pointless graph.
