Just FYI to everyone wondering, It looks like the most recent game update changed things up quite a bit with how the game stores xml files. This means the XML files that need to be edited for this mod to work are not currently accessible. At least, not as they were previously.

 

Until the mod community figures out how to get at them again, this mod cannot be updated. I suggest checking back periodically, but there's no ETA on anything.

It's a tad odd, the the mods are (semi) working for me.  But with TA woohoo, the initiator gets an uncomfortable mediocre woohoo buff.

 

Update:  Doesn't matter the age differences.  The initiator gets an uncomfortable buff :-(  So much for polygamy :-(

 

Update #2:  The uncomfortable buff issue is a game bug, not a mod bug.

 

Update #3:  You can't get married with any relationship mod in.  You can take the mod out to marry, and put it back in, but that will prevent any teen from getting married.

I'm having non-relationship  and non-woohoo bugs. My sim goes through all the motions of looking for a job and I see the job list popup window, but once I pick a job, nothing happens and he remains unemployed. Also bugs like one sim was doing homework at a table. My main sim went to talk to her and suddenly they both disappeared and reappeared outside their house. So it's more than just the woohoo bugs listed above by other members.

 

I know it's this mod, because the game worked fine after I removed this mod.

 

My problem is that this mod is the main reason I play the Sims. This was the first mod I got for Sims 4 and I've always loved it. But without a working version of this mod, the game is way too clean and unrealistic. If this mod doesn't get updated, I probably won't be able to enjoy the game (Sorry).

 

I hate to ask, but does anyone know of a similiar woohoo mod elsewhere online? It's either that or I stop playing Sims 4 until this here mod is updated.

 

PS- my game is as updated as it can be and the first expansion will be added as well when it's released in a few days.

I was able to strip the Jobs for teens code from the mod and it fixes the issue with your sims getting jobs, but the unsatisfied woohoo problem still exists.

 

Also, with the new changes to the game.  Male sims are now getting pregnant  I did a try for baby with and both sims got pregnant.

 

Not sure if this is allowed, but here is the file I modified - note not fully tested:

Did you remove any UNKN files or just the XML ones? I went through and did the XMLs but was unsure if the UNKNs were needed to be looked through.

 

 

Both...search the UNKN for "career" and delete those as well.

 

Also noticed a bug...teen relationships to their children doesn't work...all my Teen babies have no Teen parents listed in genealogy.  I was having issues saving certain households yesterday but that went away...same time as the relationships did.   I will try to investigate.

 

Update: the genealogy issue isn't consistent...may have something to do with me adding and removing mods...may have had to do with me saving the game without the babies for everyone installed.  It won't let me select a teen in CAS to adjust the relationship back to parent for a teen, but new children seem to have their genealogies intact.

The mod as-is mostly works, I think. Anything referencing careers seems to cause issues, so should probably be removed. I opened up my version of the mod using S4PE and removed the following files:

With the above files in the mod, my Sims who already had careers appeared unemployed and could not get a new job.

With these files in the mod (and the career tuning files removed) my game would crash to desktop when my Sim tried to go to work.

These are all related to careers, so it makes sense they'd cause issues what with the new expansion having a lot to do with new types of careers.

Anyone who has opened the mod in S4PE will note that these are only a small subset of the files included in the mod, so there may be a number of other areas where the mod can break the game, but so far (and my testing is nowhere near extensive) the game seems to work with the above files removed. Until the new xml files can be extracted from the game files and updated for this mod, all we can really do, I think, is remove the files that cause problems as we identify them.

I take it this isn't a replacement for the woohoo mod, right? It's more like a companion to this thread's mod? Either way, thank you for your help. I know the "bad woohoo" bug is coming from the game, not from the mod, so I'm not worried about that.Thank you.

I await a...whole different mod, again. Really wish EA could keep mods in-mind before making so many mod-breaking changes. Every career mod and relationship mod is now broken. Would be nice if they'd list what files were changed, and how, with their updates. The game comes with a Mods folder, afterall. Siiigh...maybe one day.

The "Fix", and I use that term lightly, I uploaded was a modification to the BE_I_1.3.32.1010v1.package from the Babies for Everyone download.

I'm not sure it's quite as bad as all that.

 

I mean, sure, the update broke a lot of things without warning and, most importantly, broke the primary way folks were accessing the xml files for modding itself. And all of that is bad. But in regards to this mod it still seems to work insofar as the career-related files are removed.

 

Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure it's the best idea to include those files in this mod to begin with (presumably to handle the adult jobs for teens bits). It's nice to have one mod that does everything one wants, but it just ups the chance that something breaks after an update, and makes it more difficult to track down what broke among all the hundreds of files. My suggestion would be to create more modular mod packages and leave it to the downloader to bundle them together with S4PE if they cared to do so. Just be sure to mark  which packages conflict with each other, and let it alone.

 

At least that way the entire mod isn't torpedoed if one element, like the careers stuff, is changed for an update or expansion. Just my two cents.

Agreed. I know he didn't wanna make a million versions of the mod, but he could have made one just for career changes. I haven't turned The Sims 4 on in a while. Not quite sure what to expect.

 

My interests lie in Polygamy, incest, All-Age Romance, and all kinds of pregnancy. That's enough right there. Careers are the last thing I care about, and a mod that alters careers is at great risk at all times of breaking due to updates. If I want any career mod, it'll be the porn star career, like TS3. Hopefully a hooker mod will happen sometime with this game. The only one I saw for TS3 was broken immediately by an update, and never fixed.

I hope the modder didn't quit working on it :)  I enjoy it, I might look into helping once I learn abit more on TS4 modding, and bortbit made a good suggestion modularizing this mod would be a good idea, sometimes I wish Twillian never quit the The sims modding community ;)

Ok so I updated the BE_NJ_NW_P_1.3.32.1010v1.package file by request for someone else. 

 

This removes the career for teens option and should fix the issues with the career breaking for other sims.

 

Note: I have not installed this one in my game or try it but I made the same changes that I did for other files that seem to work ok.

 

 

 

P.S.  If there is a particular BE... file that you would like and  I haven't done list it here and I will try get it updated...I will try to check back here regularly.

  • same sex pregnancy for males and females (and is there a way to select the target? No worries if there isn't)

Emily,  it is probably best to read the very first part of this thread.  Basically The original creators made a compilation of files with different "flavor" options.  you only need one of the files.   Unfortunately these original files also included the Jobs for Teens Mod built in, which broke with this last patch.  Pick your flavor based on the first post in this thread...if it is one I have not updated...I will try and get it updated for you.

I am not sure on the "Basic" mods, I haven't tried a lot of 'em.  I think it is the relationships without the pregnancy.  I have used the babies for everyone mods though I am not sure on the SameSex pregnancy...I know malfus' original mod had that.
