Falvnar Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Is there some sort of prerequisite to make Francesco Flambe and the escaped convicts inside of the Bison Steve Hotel not aggressive? Based on a previous post in the thread, you're supposed to be able to talk to Francesco Flambe in there, but he just tries to kill me on sight. The escaped convicts outside of the hotel are non-aggressive, and I haven't killed any, so I should be neutral as far as I know.
RDKateran Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Have you killed any powder gangers before arriving in Primm? That might make them go hostile. If not, chances are you have a mod conflict.

If none of the above fix it..might be a mod conflict. Load order might be needed. Loogie will have to chime in on that.. . Have you killed any powder gangers before arriving in Primm? That might make them go hostile. If not, chances are you have a mod conflict. Primm Powerganers are separate from regular Powergangers. You can kill as many as you like outside of Primm and not effect those in Primm. There are even references that they are separate in the game.
Loogie Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Killing other powder gangers and talking to Nash won't make them hostile. It's definitely a mod conflict.
Mickster Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Killing other powder gangers and talking to Nash won't make them hostile. It's definitely a mod conflict. Oh? He was hostile along with the rest of PGs in the Bison Steve. I figured that was because I killed pretty much any PGs I've bumped into after siding with the Goodsprings settlers.
Loogie Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 The Primm Powder Gangers are a separate faction from the other Powder Gangers, just like in vanilla.
Mickster Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hmm, maybe they were hostile because it because I killed the PGs outside the Bison Steve before going in?
Loogie Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 That would do it. They shouldn't have been hostile to you.
Mickster Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 That would do it. They shouldn't have been hostile to you. Yeah, I skipped the pleasantries and introduced myself to them with bullets
Falvnar Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Well it turns out that my problem is that Tryout conflicts with Mission Mojave Ultimate, which was the last thing I suspected apart from the official DLC due to the fact that Mission Mojave is included with the Steam version of the game. I did notice that the escaped convicts in the Bison Steve Hotel are renamed to "Convict" when not using Mission Mojave, so I figured I just had to give Tryout's esm precedence over Mission Mojave's esp. I tried flagging Mission Mojave's esp as an esm with FNVEdit and moving it before Tryout's esm in my load order, but that didn't work. I also tried going to the hotel on a new game without Mission Mojave and enabling it afterwards, but that didn't work either. So unless anyone else has any ideas, I guess I'm stuck with switching to YUP on a new game, since removing Mission Mojave on my current game doesn't cause the Bison Steve Hotel convicts to lose aggression.

Well, I had MMU set up as well and then switched over to YUP. I might just start over to be honest.

If you haven't been near Primm, it might still work. I think the aggression just got baked into my savegame when I went near the town. EDIT: Sorry, no. I just tried it. It doesn't work.

Odd that MMUE is conflicting with Tryouts for you. I use both and I haven't had any sort of aggression issue with the convicts in Primm.

Mission Mojave is not part of the Steam version of the game. No mods are included with the Steam version of the game, just the DLCs. Maybe I installed it manually years ago or something and forgot about it. I think I did copy it over from my old hard drive. All I know is that it's installed and I don't remember it being installed, so I assumed that Steam did it, since I'm usually pretty meticulous about keeping my backups clear of custom content. Odd that MMUE is conflicting with Tryouts for you. I use both and I haven't had any sort of aggression issue with the convicts in Primm. I guess I will try redownloading the game fresh, then. I already tried verifying files, but that didn't work.
RitualClarity Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 I guess I will try redownloading the game fresh, then. I already tried verifying files, but that didn't work. Verification of files will only fix/change the files that Steam gave you, not the files that you added. You will need to nuke the Data folder of all content that isn't for sure Fallout New vegas. If in doubt throw it out. Then you can properly re-verify and make sure you have no other loose or random files in your folder causing hidden problems.
Kaitol Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Mission Mojave is a bit obnoxious. What's the use of a bugfix mod that adds new broken "features". Use YUP. The only part of mission mojave worth using the the seam fix standalone or whatever. (frakking bugged coffee addiction. Argh that was such a hassle)
RDKateran Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 What broken features? If you're talking about MMUE+, keep in mind that's entirely optional.
Falvnar Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I just redownloaded the game completely: deleted local content via Steam, deleted folders manually, including my config files (Steam Cloud sync is off.), redownloaded the entire game, ran it with just the requirements for this mod, this mod itself, and mission mojave, started a new character, and the escaped convicts in the Bison Steve Hotel are still hostile to me. It is a conflict. That mod is making them hostile. Loogie might be interested in this info. You will have to run without Mohave or tryouts.. Only one will run properly unless someone is willing to go in and make a Tryouts Mission Mojave patch. On another note. That is an classic example on how to narrown down a conflict. mod. for those that run into conflicts with this or other mods. Not 100% but pretty close to it.
Loogie Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 Mission Mojave seems to be incompatible. I can add it to a list of known conflicts but can't fix it. I can't be compatible with everything.
RDKateran Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I don't understand how it's conflicting. I've never run any other bugfix mod on New Vegas, and I've NEVER had any conflicts between it and Tryouts, in Primm or elsewhere. And I don't recall my merged patches really touching upon Primm's convicts, either.
RitualClarity Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 You can turn the conflict off or on when you activate or deactivate the mod correct? If so it is a conflict. Could be anything with the mod and something that has been changed between the two mods. In any case it is a confirmed conflict based on your research.
