siframe Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Lol, a saint I most certainly am not... your mods have cost you far more hours than contributions are ever going to pay for, so no, thank YOU kindly! Or was 'thank you kindly' supposed t be my trigger to kill someone?! Sadly I don't have any plasmids equipped, so there will be no killing going on here, sorry
xarathos Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 I thought "would you kindly" was the… wait. Ummm…  Eh, whatever. Either way, I'm very grateful.
siframe Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Ooops! It's been a few years... Just as well I don't have any plasmids or I'd have scored myself a bad ending for unnecessary slaughter.
xarathos Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Well two things I guess, one is that I mixed up the numbers when listing the dead card: it was a GTX 460, and now that I think of it I'm not at all sure that a "640" is a real thing. Â At the moment I'm hoping to replace it with a 960, but not sure yet precisely when it'll be for the obvious reasons. I'll keep you posted, though.
ShadowGearX Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 good god man, how the hell did you do what you did with a 460?! I have even more respect for you now! lol I promise ANY card you get will be a step up. I personally love my GTX770 4GB card. I can play GTAV pretty much maxed out at 1920x1080, BL2 feels like I'm a playing a java game it runs so great lol. Good luck man, I hope it works out for you sooner then later.
xarathos Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Heh, well. Honestly? Medium settings for most games. Skyrim, I had the ENB set on a toggle for screenshots and occasionally interiors and outside I played with it off… but 'played' is a tad charitable given that some areas of the game would STILL push me below 20fps.  The problem is the shadows are so much better with enb that playing without it was almost physically painful.  BL2 ran pretty great as long as I kept the physX on low and didn't screw with the texture resolutions or whatever.  But it served well enough for a loooong time.
ShadowGearX Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 hahaha for sure, I honestly started Skyrim on a laptop with only 2GB of VRam and I honestly cannot even bring myself to play without Body Replacer/Armors/Textures for just about everything/ENB. Â Now that I have a desktop with 4GB of VRam, its like I died and went to heaven. I can do just about anything in game without a single crash, I'm actually almost done beating the game to. This will be the first time I've gotten through the whole game without my saved game getting messed up from to many mods lol.
siframe Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Oh my, you're in for a treat when you put that new card in....
LaEspada Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I had a similar experience when I upgraded from a gt 545 to a gtx 660 to overclocked. Difference was like night and day, and I still want to get a better one
xarathos Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Gods, I cannot waaaaaaaaaaaaaaait~ Â If I can actually PLAY the game with the ENB turned on? I'd be in heaven right there. Â EDIT: it looks like I may have the new card up and running within the next couple of days. YAY!
ShadowGearX Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 you saw my mod list, and I literally have EVERYTHING there is a texture mod for installed, mainly 2k with the few 1k that don't have better options. It is an amazing experience. I have 436 hrs in game, and it will rise. I can't stop playing this game. lol I even have GTAV and I still wanna play Skyrim. lol
siframe Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Well there's one definite advantage skyrim has of course over gta v... Please God never ever make a Trevor(O)ppai mod
ShadowGearX Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Trevor would be in heaven in Skyrim, random murder, mead, things to steal, and if he wakes up in nothing but a loin clothe covered in blood its just another day. Also, considering there are Schlongs of Skyrim, it wouldn't be to hard to make a character that looks like Trevor lol
xarathos Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Had the chance to test the new card last night. Framerates are, well, HUGELY improved overall, though I'm getting some pretty serious drops still in a few exterior areas that feel like… I don't know exactly, like the game is straining to load something? Probably need to revise my mod list and start with a fresh set of ini files to be safe.  But interiors have gone from 40 fps or lower at best to showing something like consistent 60-80, and that's WITH the enb on.

That can cause some spikes.  And yea, I would completely rebuild your ini just to be safe.  Do a thorough cleaning of all your mods. Use Texture Optimizer (it helps a ton) to reduce texture sizes for no quality loss.
ShadowGearX Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 You will get drops in exterior areas still, the game has a limit of 3GB usage. Some areas are load hogs even in the vanilla game, whiterun is one off the top of my head plus random spots in the woods around Falkreath. Though you may have a mod conflict or a mod in general putting extra strain. Â
Deemer Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 And remember to cap your fps at 60 if you want to avoid deadly debris and clutter!
ShadowGearX Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 And remember to cap your fps at 60 if you want to avoid deadly debris and clutter! is that why I get injured everytime I step on a skeleton? lol
xarathos Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Taking the Catwoman convert into the Aether Suite today, and thanks to a little bit of effort from the brushes in Outfit Studio, clipping is fixed for all but the most extreme poses. Eventually I'll have to do a new ground mesh for the gloves using the originals rather than my edited ones, but for now I'm not gonna worry about it I think.  For now, I'm gonna slot the new meshes into the paths used by the Catwoman esp, unless you guys think I should start a new ESP, something like… "ArkhamCosplay.esp" or the like in case I do any others. Like the plan was/is for Mass Effect.  This version is still going to use HDT High Heels btw, and with the env map I'd say if you want it to look like it does on my rig there's a soft requirement for aMidianBorn's armor retextures because I'm using the ebony map from there.
ShadowGearX Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I would love to be able to just replace the one in my game already but its entirely up to you man, you're the boss lol
xarathos Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 I was mostly thinking about like, future stuff, IE if I end up doing a version of the Harley Quinn outfit or something. It makes a certain amount of sense to me to have them organized together, but I can see how it'd be easier to just replace what you're using.Soooooooo I guess what I'm gonna do is this: I'm gonna start with the current Catwoman Suit.esp as a base so all the internal reference numbers are the same, and if people want to just replace the existing ESP they're using they can just rename the Arkham Cosplay esp to the old name and drop it in. Hopefully. Â Gonna make a few other little tweaks here and there tho in the process, like, probably change the male models for the Catwoman gear to something like the thieves guild leader. Maybe balance/crafting tweaks. Not sure yet. And while I'm about it... maybe a few of the weapon+armor fixes keywords where applicable.
ShadowGearX Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 If renaming would work, go ahead and do that then to make it easier on yourself. I did not know you can rename an ESP and it would work, I thought the other files would be looking for the wrong esp if you renamed one or is it the ESP that does the searching for the files so its name does not really matter?
xarathos Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Renaming an ESP works fine as long as nothing, including the save game, is looking for the old name. Like, dependencies will break that way. But since I'm not planning to make Arkham Cosplay a master for anything renaming it back to Catwoman Suit for existing saves shouldn't be a big deal.
xarathos Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 (edited) Â Going to upload the version I've got right now and make the rest of my revisions later; if there are any issues you guys catch, lemme know so I can fix 'em. Â Uploaded. Edited May 1, 2015 by xarathos
ShadowGearX Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Only thing I noticed was the gloves seem to be to small, the actually shrink the hands and all the fingers look like someone broke each one with a pair of pliers. Though the fingers could be an issue with the current idle I am using, but the gloves for sure shrink the hands
