Well, if there is an alternate site that has what I want I will and often do use it. However if no alternate exists then I will (and often do) pop over to the nexus and grab it. I am unwilling to "do without" a plugin or three in some imaginary protest that only will punish me.

Actually no, if you publicly advertise that you can repair a BMW under a lease for cheaper than official and not using the original parts you are into trouble and your customer as well, not to mention completely uninsured in case of accident.

 

Why it exists is because small repair shops are harmless to BMW, create a chain and sell your rapairs on the net, we'll see how long you last.

I mean being completely honest,I have nothing against the modders on Nexus,they just like games,modify games,make those modifications available to the public.I do despise the Moderators though.If you could get rid of the moderators IMO(at least) it would be a much better place.

And I would wish that if someone did do something to the main server,(I.e.IRL.)then they would at least have the decency to back up the data on said server.As the server going down would hurt the Mods and the Modders,the Server going offline would hurt the modders a lot more.In my opinion at least.

But the more personal story in that thread is about a person who created perhaps one of the best screen shots of Skyrim, something that is obviously of a high art caliber and tribute to art history, who then sees his work properly recognized and voted up and up, topping the charts for a week, and all is good until Dante takes one look at the image and removes it. As Dante explains, Nexus is not a social community in his eyes; rather, it's just business, nothing personal. Darkone, too, chimes in without any hint of sympathy or humanity, admitting to being too busy running his business (and taking holidays?) to care. As it turns out, the uploader had actually emailed them first for permission, but never got a response.

Hmmm, I'm thinking "sociopath" is the easier to go with and that "retarded" is almost redundant. Their ability to empathize seems to be blocked, as if that part of their growing up and development was stunted at an early age. Thus, Dante and Darkone are retarded socially.

 

It's not about the other problem; that of mistaking nudity for erotica, which btw is also retarded (sexiopath?). It's more about how they can't deal with people. Not a single word showing any sort of appreciation, not a thanks for thinking of our site to show your art, not any sort of disappointment or regrets in how their own lame rules can't accommodate for sophisticated art. No apologies about their failed rules which mistake nudity for porn. They could had still removed the screenshot, but just show some sort of understanding for all those involved.

 

Side note: I doubt they even realize that such contributions, when liked and supported then featured on the top, is the kind of stuff that can make their site great. So it's their own loss, as well.

 

Obviously, too, they are contradicting themselves about supposedly how much easier it is with stupid rules that don't make intelligent distinctions. Seems to be an ongoing problem, nonetheless, as they admit. How do they handle a pic that depicts sex but without showing nudity? Exactly what is too revealing and what isn't. No matter how you slice it and try to simplify your rules, there's still going to be lots of grey and complications and the need for intelligent persons to look and make a culturally sophisticated decision. It's inescapable. Too bad the conscious decision makers aren't exactly intelligent over there in that regard, either.

 

Still, I think the bigger problem isn't their rules. It's them.
