Hi. Is there any way I can download a bunch of extra description without fiddling with files manually too much?

 

Specifically I want more male perspective descriptions since there are so few of them

 

I've posted db files for the unique animations rewritten for a 1st person male perspective a few pages back.But if you want more generic animation descriptions you will have to write them yourself since no one's really bothered to add to whats already there.

Yep, editing the notepad file is all there is too it, you just need to 100% keep the same formatting or the mod won't be able to read the file at all (so no missing brackets/commas ect).

There's a little bit more too it than that, the lines are stored in JSON which is quite particular about it's formatting. If you want something easier to use, you can try the Editor I wrote.

 

I should really post some of my stuff... but I all I really have up to scratch is Unique Animation lines for a few of Billyy's Wolf 3p anims and the Estrus tentacle anims. I've got a buttload of stuff for skeevers, but they were all unique to the original animations by Billyy, not really up to scratch with the new and improved ones he's released.

I'd like to see some succubi themed lines for Apropos (all perspectives, first second and third person), but I'm not sure how to fill it in a worth-while way.
 

This would probably avoid the wear-and-tear style of writing that apropos usually entails for more descriptions of draining, dominance and mind-break. The perspective of the victim would be a struggle followed by a descent into madness, while the succubus would enjoy the rush of feeding and the submission of the victim.

Sure, like this:

  • Check the debugging options in the Apropos MCM
  • Use a mod like Sexlab Tools to make it easier to look for and start the animation you want
  • Play the animation (Be careful about using Defeat or SLTools to switch to the animation, it doesn't seem to send all the Animation Change events that Apropos looks for, so chose the one before it then press O to switch to your desired animation
  • Open the console and look below "[Apropos] ---- AnimationStart----" or "[Apropos] ---- AnimationChange ----" for a line that looks like:
    • [Apropos] Animation: 'FunnyBizness Molag Hard Miss' ('FB_MolagHardMiss') (MF,Missionary,Aggressive,Vaginal,Rape,forced,Dirty,sex,FunnyBizness,FM)
    • [Apropos] Animation: 'FunnyBizness Necro Doggy' ('FB_NecroDoggy') (MF,AggressiveDefault,Aggressive,Dirty,DoggyStyle,Doggy,Vaginal,sex,BBP,forced,Necro,FunnyBizness,FM)
  • The quoted part in brackets, like FB_MolagHardMiss or FB_NecroDoggy, is the internal animation name, so you need new files under FemaleActor_FB_NecroDoggy
  • Load up the Apropos Editor and pick a position that might have some good base lines, like FemaleActor_Male Vaginal Rape, then click Copy to New Position.
  • Enter "FemaleActor_" followed by the animation name, and particularly if you're looking at FunnyBiz's stuff, add _Rape at the end.
  • The editor will make new files based on that name and insert the animation's name into Apropos' unique animations list.
  • You can add or remove stages to match the number of stages in the animation, and then add or remove any lines.
  • Save your work, then re-launch the game if you're using MO (and maybe with the newer NMM) so the new files are added to the virtual directory.
  • Play the animation and your new lines should play along side.

is there a way to disconnect the wear&tear overlay from the debuffs?

 

Aah, can you clarify? If you want to disable the debuffs but keep the visual effects, just zero all the numbers in the database's 'WearAndTear_Effects' file.

Would it be possible to add a function with an assignable hotkey to instantly display a random apropos message from the current stage without having to trigger a new stage? Like, I have a shitload of custom descriptions and sometimes just enjoy looking at my character at a specific stage, but in order to trigger a new apropos message I have to switch the sex stage back and forth. I would find it very convenient to be able to trigger a new message without having to switch stages. Is that something you would consider? :)

 

I would love this too! It would be easier for screenshots and would make accidentally ending a sex scene by switching through stages a thing of the past

That and boob size/weight could be handy for another dynamic synonym like {FAROUSAL}, and apparently the latest SOS has an api for it (SOS_API.Get().GetSize(Actor akActor)). I think the challenge would be writing lines that work for both extremes, because "despite his {CSIZE} size" could be displayed as "despite his gargantuan size" just as easily as "despite his tiny size". I run into the same issue already with the arousal and wear and tear synonyms :/

How are you starting animations? I mean what triggers them? If they are triggered as Rape, then you will not get what you want, without a lot editing.

Gooser,would it be possible to have the descriptions play within a customizable timer within the stage?As in the descriptions still play when advancing or regressing stages but apropos also plays a new description within that stage every X seconds?Because we have a huge number of descriptions that would ordinarely only play once per stage.This might actualy work better than the custom hotkey thats been suggested above.

this is the separate post.And as for the the  m/m f/f and trans  options no,f/f was added a while back but there are no descriptions written for it and i'm pretty sure m/m isn't  suported yet..I'm not sure about trans though but if detection works you'd be getting m/f descriptions because there are no trans descriptions

Mm. Yeah, something I've been requesting some time back. Would be quite neat though! Originally I wanted longer messages, but I believe Papyrus arrays are limited to 128, so the limit comes from there. Being able to have messages cycle would be better.

Both the timer and the keystroke make sense to me actually. But probably more the timer.

 

chimiz, iirc, the reason I may have said something about message length was about screen space more than anything. Not sure where array limits comes from.

Oh yeah, that sounds familiar, you're absolutely right. 

Screen space is a tricky subject of course. I know I would like more space for the messages to allow for more length, but at the same time I completely understand that at one point, it might simply take up too much space and be more in the way than not. Would it be possible to have an option to increase the size of the boxes in say the mcm or so, to allow for it? 

 

I'm not entirely sure where the array thing came from, I think it might be a misconception for me from earlier when I thought that a limit on characters was also imposed due to string arrays.
