To get those to work with palmagic you need this.

what's this? there's no description. i see it's related to the Pal Dressing Facility, so i assume it's like this one?

Go into Bakkas/primal json and look for Vixen and katress lines and delete them

it was that easy? another thing i was considering, because i took a look at the inside of a Json once with notepad, and it's just folder locations, couldn't you just, create one?
because then, maybe i could just, you know, create a Json for one of the mesh skin, or does that only work for skinners?

Everything is wonky for you because you got 3 different things boxing it out to show mods that aren't even for them.

i didn't realize there were differences between "skins", i didn't even know they were different "shapes".
i thought they all were the same thing, just somes would be outdated.
i guess mesh overides the OG model of the game, and "skinners" apply to a new one in visuals only maybe?

also would you advise getting rid of Altermatic/Palmagic/Dynamic-Pal and only keeping one?

read the mod pages, if the mesh mods don't say they require X skin mod, it overwrites the original model

alright thank you for the clarification.
i assumed it most of thoses threads were made before Palmagic was made, so it never came to me that it would imply the skin themselves would be a different format.

It's understandable, but reading the description will save you a ton of time later on, view it as an investment. 😃

no i know, i've been modding games for a long time, i just didn't realize skins came in different formats, i thought they were all the same.

I wouldn't know, I have no reason to download that. It seems to be hyper specific Male/Feral + Female/Anthro configuration?

P.D.F. plus the Jsons I linked you will input a majority of T-box skins in the palmagic rotation. What isn't already in there will eventually be in there since mudkip is goated and is keeping them more or less updated with T-boxes releases.

As long as you know the pals file name you simply search for it in the Json and delete the line. Theres nothing stopping you from creating one but to even know the file path you have to open the pak, or already have the knowledge. I don't know the exact way to do it, you'd have better luck asking the mod makers.

despite what others will tell you you are better off just sticking to one, I didn't bother testing it much outside of not even realizing i had Dynamic installed with Palmagic, but from experience with other mods Palmagic will overwrite the others simply because of its naming. (alphabetical order)

Each one has its own quirks:

  • Altermatic - the OG, mod older semi/abandoned skin mods used this, some still do, due to childish circumstances on both parties its slowly being phased out, if it hasn't already.
  • Palmagic - its replacement and equally similar in its easy of use. Most seem to be using this one, there are conversions out in the wild(discord servers) that have altermatic to palmagic Json conversions. Probably the best option for mod users.
  • Dynamic-Pal - the better of the two in my opinion but, requires more fiddling with as it has way more options and features that just a normal skinner with its conditional skinning that expanse beyond gender. The better option, but requires more effort and I'm too lazy to do it rn.

They were, hydra like splitting happened at the most inopportune time imaginable. Now we got a ton of 1.0 players downloading relics lost in the sinking of Atlantis and asking why stuff isn't working lmao.

alright, so i guess i just need to bring them to ModelJson and rebuild the mannifest. thank you for sharing this.

alright, well, for now i'll just try the first thing you linked.

what's most annoying is, if i understood correctly, they all handle files differently?
meaning somes models works with Altermatic but not Pal, some models works with Pal but neither Altermatic nor Dynamic.

i wish i could just, remove two of them and only keep one, but if i do that i worry some shit will stop working all together.
dosn't help that S-Cake comes with Altermatic out of the box too.

unfortunate because i also prefer Dynamic-Pal, just for the fact that it comes with a menu to let me specifically pick what i prefer instead of rolling until i do.

you mean that different model-swappers were made as the game hit 1.0, and now they're all doing their things lmao?
that sound like a nightmare forcing modders to pick sides too

Its more like they are all parallel to each other they just affect the same file, they do not affect each but will work in order of themselves their names
For example.

  1. Alter will change the skin to its group of meshes
  2. Dynamic will then change the skin after checking for conditions to its group
  3. Pal will then change the skin to it group
    1. you could then try using Alter but nothing will change
    2. you can try using dynamic, which will work but who knows for how long. I also noticed weird flesh suit issues with Lovander when I was switching meshes with palmagic installed.

So you will see primarily see palmagic skins. unless palmagic doesnt have a skin assigned to that pal.

In the long run it will be better for the modding scene, if it works out. Right now the bare minimum works outside of being overly picky or not having ball knowledge about the links to some files. Following the guide will give you mainly what you want, anymore and you have to do some searching.

Appreciate it!

So if i understand right

UE4SS one is a base framework for other mods.

S-cake is for animation mods.

Palmagic is for adding pal skins.

Been a long time since I checked this place out. I'm glad it's still living and helpful. Thank you. :D

Now I gotta figure out how to add the skins to these.

To be honest, it would be the best if users would use the guides mod setup, what i've seen so far, most of the problems are caused by using different methods, like steam workshop, which places s4ss to a different path, making the framework mods go crazy, because they are searching for s4ss where it's not 😅

Yeah i started from scratch and followed the guide. Everything works as intended. Thanks

So I am on Linux (CachyOS) and am unable to get this working. I have followed the guide about 3 times now doing exactly as instructed but it seems steam Palworld is just ignoring the mods (likely because most appear to be Windows based). I am able to get some things working such as the female nude skin and if I install UE4SS from Steam Workshop, I am able to get UniPalUI and Altermatic to load with it without doing anything different but it seems S-Cake and PalMagic and TemTem (just what I started with) do not load. At one point I was able to get Pal Nude Models under I PrimalPals to load but couldn't do anything with it. Windows 11 is just garbage which is why I moved over to Linux but I think I will fittle around with this a bit more to see if I can get steam to recognize the non-loading mods. Thanks for the guide, made things a million times easier with the new update.

Yep, that sums it up, S4SS allows mods to work, S-Cake is the animation framework and PalMagic is responsible for swapping models mid game.😃

It's really easy to install mods for the game, and mod creators make sure to make it easier, it's mainly just drag and drop.

I was just wondering if there was also player on player animations and if so how to get them working as well

There are a few player on npc animations, but i never heard of player on player, that doesn't mean they do not exist, or if so, who knows maybe someone will make something like this in the future, if it's possible.😄

it work from scratch but Palmagic won't do anything unless a pal has more than one model.

then, it might get hairy depending on when the model was released and which mod it was made for apparently, that was my mistake for example.

if it does, i've often see drama of this type considerably stunt the progression of modding tech in communities, because no-one is sure what they want to do nor how.
i think the healthiest modding scene i've ever seen is the Rimworld one, and i don't mean RJW, i mean the Vanilla-Expanded scene.
theses guys have cemented themselves to such a degree that even smaller-time modders often create content to expand on the content and systems VE created themselves.

man, modding community drama, i will never understand it.
i'd get it if it was drama between the actual studio of the game and it's community due to creative differences, but i don't get drama between modders...
creating content for a game they do not own, on their own completely separated from each others.

To get those to work with palmagic you need this. After that, do not touch PDF, clear any skins you applied as all PDF will do is change the icons.

alright, it worked perfectly, thank you for the help dude.

now let's say i want some skins to NOT appear in the game, i just go into a Json that has a setting for the model, and delete the line?
in this case for example, this is the Json of Primal-Pals, would i have to delete theses lines for the Jackal-models to stop showing up?
image.png.fadbcdf4bc31377ab3644d98544dcf64.png

also is anything actually holding on Palmagic and/or Altermatic, or can they both be safely ditched to use only Dynamic-Pal only?
i'm asking, because it seem to me like both PalM and DP are generating persistent files, and i'm worried they might constantly be at odds with each other.

I have a functional modded Palword here using Proton. Two things I watched for while following the main guide:

  1. Tell proton to look for the standalone UE4SS via launch options: "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dwmapi.dll=n,b" %command%"
  2. Verify that the folder structure when extracting mods is consistent with using ~mods and not ~Mods. Linux is case sensitive and mod creators are not always consistent.

For my part in questions S-Cake has a Change Base Human Genders config and I can't get it to do anything or seemingly get NPCs to have a gender. Am I missing something, something on my end is broken, or is that S-Cake feature not working for now?

Second question Palicious has a Player Submission feature and I can get it to trigger, but animations never start and it just unequips my weapon with a notification in the top-left. Any tricks to getting that to kick off? Currently using INDY Simple SCake Consequences, I'm Not Dead Yet, and Player Breeder as an alternative, but wouldn't mind the more options Palicious seems to offer.

I am wanting to do a clean install of my mods for this game. To change from Bakkas to primalpals how do I remove everything to fresh install

If all you want is to remove bakkas v skin, you don't need a fresh install for that, just go to your ~mods folder Delete BakkasVCustomSkeletons_P and BakkasVSkin, then go to ModelJSON folder, and delete BakkasVSkin.json. After that, run __ManifestList_Create and you're good to go.

I hope you do know that, you don't have to chose between the 2 model packs, you can have both at the same time.😃

Really? Because I tried to have both before but sometimes the genitals would not appear on pals

not all the palls were converted, only around 75% of them, it's a work in progress.
Especially now that 1.0 is out, a lot of new pals were put in game the count reaches almost 300, if someone makes male and female models, that means double, so, yeah, it... takes some time 😄

So how do I have both Bakkas and Primalpals running at the same time without issues or them cancelling each other

I'm not really sure where the error on my end is, but I followed everything exactly how it was explained. S-Cake and UniPalUI installed first with the version of UE4SS being v3.0.1-1016-g6c26f038. For the animation packs, I have Temtem, Lurkers, and Shiinr, and I think I installed them correctly because the animations show up in the UI for S-Cake, holding down J does start the animation with self, but I can't seem to get any other animation to play with any pal or human. I don't get any 'NoTargetSkeleton' errors or any other messages like that, nothing happens. I can enable the DEBUG option under the Sugar Cake menu, but no additional hotkeys do anything, I can't force an animation.

I couldn't quite get models to change, I think that's a separate issue on my end. PalMagic is meant to swap between base and modded models, but the hotkeys in that mod don't do anything. I did run the "__ManifestList_Create.bat" file after installing the relevant mods, but I don't if that worked. For UE4SS, something updated/changed on July 25th on the github page, but I don't know if that outdated any features with these mods. With Altermatic, whenever I use the Shift + O hotkey, it just says that the Skelmesh was unable to reroll.

If you have an ideas, I'll take anything at this point lol. There might be something obvious that I just overlooked, but I need a second brain to think about it

I have the same problem as this but i removed palmagic and my loadlist.json is empty despite running the bat file

They do not cancel each other, when

you have both bakkas and primalpals, you can swap between them mid game with shift+z

Pretty sure that is for mods from the steam workshop as I have nothing under there but the mods work. I know this because when I boot the game up on the left side of my screen it reads they are loaded

Yeah i can't get nothing to work, been trying for over 3+ hours and no progress, i have been doing it by step by step and nothing works, I hate when there these types of mods that u have to spent hours doing all the work just to make it work
