I was wondering if it's possible to have this mod handle bounties beyond a certain threshold. Although that would make it conflict with xpo, I do find myself using that mod less and less due to its... lack of variety.

 

Should be pretty easy, I'd guess... currently those in the bandit factions are able to enslave on defeat, so just add bounty hunter faction (WEBountyHunter) to the mix too. IIRC, there's an option in XPO that disables bounty hunters?

Don't think he wants them disabled - he just wants his player to go to auction instead of jail.

 

As CC said, that should be feasible. Question is, is there a demand for it? We have one vote for making bounty hunters send the player to auction instead of jail - what do you say? *points directly at you*

Getting gray face bug with actors added by this mod.

We haven't added any new actors in some long time. Might be something in your system, or the face gen might have been messed up in the recent cleaning. Anyone else setting this?

Sounds fun but uh I merged this mod already D:

 

The mod works great from what I have seen been through the auction a few times now and only issue I've seen is don't use ragdoll in Death Alternative.

 

I'm only using SD+ and Captured Dreams though, some mods just are not finished yet or still in alpha shoot.

Now I've got stage fright!

 

I'm easy on the bounty hunter thing. Don't much care either way. The thing about bounty hunters is they'd only try to auction you off if you refuse to or can't afford to pay your debt, which is pretty slim chance, not to mention the fact that they go down hard with a couple of whacks with your favorite weapon of choice. A bunch of bandits selling you off for profit makes more sense than bounty hunters doing it... they get their money either way (from you or from the Jarl when they bring you in to prison) so there's no incentive for them to take the more risky option of hauling you to the slave market and dealing with the criminal or semi-criminal element for the possibility of much less profit.

 

only issue I've seen is don't use ragdoll in Death Alternative.

Should be fixed now, I think... are you using the latest version of Simple Slavery?

Well, since you're pointing at me.......I say yeah, it makes sense that they might sell you at auction and split the proceeds with whoever placed the bounty.

Or not. The mod is pretty great already.

First off, let me say that I was delighted to return from my rl-induced absence to find this mod so nicely developed. Kudos and thanks!

 

Of course there is a "but"....

 

I did get the dialog fix .esp and I can talk to JR to get from the cage to the bidding floor, but then everything just stops. I can't move, the bidders just eat and/or move about a little but nothing else. I am using SD+ and double checked to make sure it was ticked in the MCM, no others. So, is there something obvious (to others) that I've done wrong or failed to do --- alternately, any suggestions for what to try next? Thanks very much.

Okay. You said you got the dialogue fix - I assume that means you have both 3.2 and the 3.2 patch. Did you install the patch after the mod and let it overwrite? And do you have the patch after the mod in your load order?

edit: assuming the patch shows up in the load order. It probably doesn't, come to think of it...

I got the fix a couple of pages back first, then added the patch from the download page. Could it be that I shouldn't have both?

They're the same thing, so you shouldn't have both. Although that shouldn't matter. Try a clean install of the mod and the patch. 

 

No need to apologize, you're not being thick - you're trying to make a heavily modded game of Skyrim work. It's the real game we play.

Simple Slavery 3.2 Dialogue Fix attached, if anyone can have a go loading this version and reporting back its working I would appreciate it, it works in my game but a second..or third...opinion never hurts :)

Looks on the surface like it works, but it won't actually sell you if you don't have SD+ checked. It goes through the auction, then you stand there awkwardly wondering just who it was that paid the despicable sum of 400 gold for your lovely self, with no answer forthcoming. I had Maria Eden, Captured Dreams, QAYL, and Wolf Club checked to no avail. Once I checked SD+ in the MCM it worked fine to sell to an SD+ owner. I have yet to make it work for any of the others, I always get SD+ buyers.

 

Don't get me wrong, I love SD+, but y'know, we've been doing that since SD's inception, basically, so...I'm eager to try this out with the other mods.

 

That said, before today I'd never even tried this mod, and I have to say - it's great! I love the auction scene. So good. Kudos to author/authors.

I'm afraid we were unable to duplicate this issue. I suggest removing this mod, doing a clean save, and then reinstalling. Please let us know if that doesn't work.

 

 

I did this, it didn't work, but I found the issue anyway.  It was an improper installation of a requirement for a different mod (Maria Eden) that is supported by Simple Slavery.  It didn't cause an issue with that mod that I couldn't get around with a little waiting and such, so I didn't suspect it.  Now it's all good.  Great with the quick reply, and again, great mod.

After an event wherein the First Mate character discovered I had been "stealing" (Idk whether he meant figuratively, meaning white items, or literally, meaning red items I stole or pickpocketed, since I had both), I was told that "my pockets felt lighter," and there was a "come and get her" affair followed by a "get out of here before you get into more trouble."  After that, it seemed that the mod got stuck.  Those words just stayed on the screen, forever, and nothing else would happen.

That sound like a Devious Cidhna issue. Please direct your question there.

Those are all good ideas, but they would need to be made as separate mods. Simple Slavery does not have any slave scenarios of its own (which, granted, makes it somewhat poorly named). It just links other slave mods to a slave auction.

 

Edit: unless you mean things to do with the followers. That is a different issue. :)

Greetings.

 

Sorry that it has taken me so long to get around to trying your suggestions and getting back to you... rl has no respect for my plans sometimes.

 

Anyway. I uninstalled what I had, reinstalled the latest version, then the patch, selected yes to all, then did FNIS, LOOT, etc and started a new game (they're all new games atm, so there was no loss involved). But I got pretty much the same result. Everything works until it is time for my character to be sold then, people mill about, eat, and I have no crosshairs or compass, can't move, etc.

 

For the moment I think that I am going to focus on a couple of other updated things I've been eager to get to these past months (like Sisterhood of Dibella and the new version of SD+), just to see if they are working as they should be. It is quite likely that in my haste to get my mods up to date that I have missed something, and if so it should become clear as I try out the other content. In other words, whatever is going wrong with SS for me atm is very likely my own fault, I just haven't stumbled upon the specific failing yet.
