MSM_Alice Posted August 4, 2025 Author Posted August 4, 2025 Tested more and had to put together another patch. I think this 0.7704 is a robust "stable version" at this point. 0.7704 - Patching an error on defacing tattoo application, and several bugs on the generic moaners spawn/despawn. Ghouls (non feral) are now using the human moans. Cleaner traces in the papyrus log.

The system meant to deal with casual arousal effects outside of sex scenes should stay outside of sex scenes, or else, if we set exceptions over exceptions, the architecture becomes unmanageable Edited August 4, 2025 by MSM_Alice

Mimirue17 Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 (edited) Started a new game on 7702 and discovered that it is blocking AAF from loading (no pop up stating AAF loaded and use home key etc). Home Key does not function and there is an AAF showing on the upper right. Tried a violate scene and after gathering nothing happened. Did check the debug section and it showed AAF present and everything looks ok. to test I reloaded 680 and AAF pop up showed up and home key works again. I reloaded 7702 after this and again AAF was not functioning. as a side not it is showing skimpy armor keywords as being present but not validated on option further below. That mod is not installed so that being present check is not functioning correctly. edit: for reference I am running AAF 1.1.2 (the latest version) in case that is causing an issue this happens in 7704 for me as well Edited August 4, 2025 by Mimirue17

Rolling back to 7692, I do not have this issue. The game also seems unstable to even load in on 7704. To test, I have a vanilla save game at the point where Nora has exited the cryopod after waking up. With 7704, I had to load the game 3 times because the game crashed the first 2 times. I made a save after most of the mods had printed a status message, and upon attempting to load that save from console (save 1, then load 1 commands), the game crashed again.

MSM_Alice Posted August 5, 2025 Author Posted August 5, 2025 (edited) Probably something was off about the AAF high headcount animation redefinitions. Removing those and reverting to dependence on the indarello patch.. Edited February 19 by MSM_Alice

SavageCabbage_animationGroupData_MSMA.xml SavageCabbage_positionData_MSMA.xml SavageCabbage_animationData_MSMA.xml There are some subtleties on how these redefinitions should be named and structured that elude me and the result is probably not okay. We're back to needing Indarello's patch for it :). These logs I think are captured from a save done on a newer version, but the mod has already been rolled back for a previous version? there are a lot of newer variables that the logs says are missing, and that would be indicative on a rollback to an earlier version. This is a good reminder for me to add a log trace with the mod version in the papyrus logs, so I know for sure :D. Edited August 5, 2025 by MSM_Alice

MSM_Alice Posted August 5, 2025 Author Posted August 5, 2025 It might be specific to the latest AAF, who knows. I did a brand new new game on OG and a 4 hr playtest sessions with 0.7704 , and nothing as extreme popped up. But indeed, I was not using AAF 1.1.2 Anyway removed the redefinitions, so assuming it should all be well.
MSM_Alice Posted August 5, 2025 Author Posted August 5, 2025 (edited) There might be more to it than this, as earlier AAF versions worked okay. This seems to be specific to AAF 1.1.2 ? AAF 1.1.2 also does not start (does not get the init screen) on my loadout (with MSMA or without, with MSMA redefinitions or without, makes no difference) Reverting to 1.1.1 does not fix it. I will have to figure out what is happening... very mysterious. Edited August 5, 2025 by MSM_Alice

Nuka Cherry Posted August 5, 2025 Posted August 5, 2025 (edited) Just trying out the new version on an existing game (lvl 4 bimbo). I have to say, loving the new feature. What I found on my loadout is some older definition of Atomic lust made a key difference on whether AAF initalized at all or not. Granted it might not be the file itself, but how those definitions step or not on the toes of another redefinition from UAP or Indarello's or other animation patches. This test was done all without MSMA mod or anything MSMA related. (examples of what worked and what did not are in the zip below) My working hypothesis is that the more recent version of AAF might have changed something about how they handle re-definitions in the XML folder. and nowadays the AAF XML folder needs to be cleaner (no overlaps, no over-definitions, no conflicting patches ) than what was accepted in the past, and it still worked. Who knows. Afte resolving the thing with that Atomic lust file, then my AAF initialized again , as it should on a new game. Then I re-added MSMA and tested new game with it too. And it worked/initialized normally too . On both AAF 1.1.1 and AAF 1.1.2 As a side note: It worked both with redefined XML files (7704) and without the redefined XML files (the newer 7705). But to be on the safe side, will leave this as they were on 7705 (without any redefinitions in AAF's XML folder) until I get a better understanding of how the redefinition system works or does not work nowadays. I even deleted all the interim MSMA versions (any that would make additions to the AAF XML folder) , left up for download just 0.7692 ( before it all) and 0.7705 ( the latest) which both have no anim name redefinitions, they place no files in the AAF XML folder, (so they both hard-require Indarello for the optional high headcount anims). Even though in my tests the redefined anims worked fine, I realize they might break things for others in unexpected ways. culprit_XML.zip Edited August 5, 2025 by MSM_Alice

So I am not sure its safe to use at this point until someone actually looks into the cause (I used the picture of thier load order when installing mods so its exactly like they have it). AAF team is not known to be the friendliest bunch so might take awhile to figure out what its conflicting with. It might be that is not necessarily a bug.. but perhaps just.... less forgiving about things like double definitions and such in the XML folder. That XML folder really needs to be combed and to be proper before the new AAF initializes, whereas older versions of AAF were more forgiving. At any rate MSMA 0.7705 should work with both AAF recent versions (and it makes no additions to the AAF XML folder on its own), and I will try to work with 1.1.2 on my mod dev machine going forward. It should be quite configurable in the MCM (on what Arousal level they apply and whatnot). As a future development I am thinking to bring in more of the animation from DLOH (currently using about 8 out of 100) , and pick the more tame ones at lower level bimbo, and more risque/shameless ones at higher level bimbo. MSM_Alice Posted August 5, 2025 Author Posted August 5, 2025 (edited) For testing 0.7706 A version for testing that brings back the internally defined high headcount Anims in the AAF XML folder, correctly this time in a way that does not mess with AAF initialization, and with totally separate names that should be okay for AAF 1.1.2, 1.1.1, and most other versions , NG or OG. Now for real independent of Indarello's patch A kind soul on the AAF Discord offered insight into what the issue might be and I figured out what I was doing wrong the first time around. @Mimirue17 and @Leowulf please test and let me know if with this version, on a new game, AAF initializes and works without any MSMA-centric issues Edited February 19 by MSM_Alice
