I this case you simply need to replace the top texture file which in this case also means you only change the last folder "steel" into whatever you renamed the nif file before, elven for example.

So I'd open the vanilla armor .nif file in nifskope and edit that line?

I should problaby mention that Dragon Priestess wont work in the way you converted it. You cant copy weights or you break the HDT and it will crash your game. Its a tricky outfit to convert.

Dont forget to test your outfits after you converted them before releasing them

Just completed going thru all the forum's pages and I am surprised at how great looking outfits have been submitted for conversion and how few have been, And many of the ones that have been, are seriously butt ugly. What determines which outfits get converted and which don't? The UNP guys really enjoy a world of cool clothes while we're stuck with the crappy crap. If I wasn't so hung up on my CBBE beauty, I'd think seriously about making the change for the sheer volume of variety available.

Personal preference an whim is what decides that.

 

You can always learn to do it yourself. It's an aquired skill, not a magic talent you have to be born with.

 

Besides when you look at it even the UNP ones are all split between different subshapes, so to speak. That's why I use bodyslide, because it gives me my bodyshape every time.

Not at all, but then there's no way to even quantify that,  You aren't taking suggestions from me anyway. You've done 1 out of 12 of my requests. And I have about 30 more I'd like done. But what's the point? There's no obligation for anyone to do conversions except for the fun of doing them and helping those of us who can't for whatever reason.  Besides, there are plenty of requests being posted, some of them I want so if you or anyone will do them, I'm fine with that.

Okay well I really wanted this armor to try so I opened it up in outfit studio and can only guess this is one reason no one has touched it. Is there a reason this armor is bugged out and is it fixable (I have no skill with blender or any other 3d modeling software).

Might try asking for your conversion in the var. UNP forums. As noted in the title, this forum is for converting other body forms to CBBE. Also, you can use the CK to change the names of items to English.

No and there probably won't be since he did it in his own special way.

Usually people connect the xml through a NiStringExtraData in the nif file but this one doesn't. It goes by adding dozens of extra notes instead.

Aye fakenet he seems to be against anything cbbe but Malfdawg has made a few conversions of his outfits so he does allow cbbe conversions but not sure how hard it is to get permissions

I would assume that if you don't use any of the author's resourcs, you're pretty safe in converting outfits to different body styles. It has always angered me that they freely use our author's resources while hoarding theirs.   Or making it difficult to obtain cool outfits for our use like archaic registration in a language we don't understand and have no way of translating. One thing I can say for the Asians, they push the envelop in designs, crafting and incorporating mods in ways we don't seem to be able to match  . Like the dancing, full HDT armor, clothing, hair and jewelry that all moves with the body's moves. Incredible! I my  Skyrim!
