I don't know if someone get the same problem (there's too much message too read)

Skyrim crash on save load but it work when I disable Captured Dream

Maybe it's me maybe it's the mod I don't know. (probably my fault)

I hope someone can help me find a solution for make it work

 

"Skyrim crash on save load" can you be more specific? Does it crash on old saves that have CD, saves that didn't have CD, and/or will it crash if you make a new game? Save cleaning change anything for the former? I'm assuming it crashes as you load the save, not crashing at certain places...

 

If new games don't work either, do you have mod organizer and can you make a new profile with only CD and CD dependancies and see if that changes anything? If it did fix the issue, download tesvedit select CD and see if there are any conflicts with other mods and try disabling working with those mods.

 

I don't recall ever seeing a papyrus log end with the message " VM is thawing...". They often end out of the blue, in a blizzard of errors or with a message like "VM is freezing..." rather than thawing, I don't know what that means I just thought it was odd.

 

You still get the crash with a double save load right, loading a young save, first save of a new game, then loading into the save you want from that point? It looks like you already did, since the log mentioned reverting the game, but just double checking.

I can start the game but i cannot load a save 

 

Youre not alone i very recently started having the exact same issue it wasn't to bad until 2 days ago now i'm remaking characters like crazy trying to just play. Im not even 100% on the cause for me but after seeing your post and xxzandyxx1's i'm wondering i have yet to make it past lvl 30 before my save just crash when i try to load em any external app i use to try to fix em also ctds when i try to load the save. Last new character died at level 1 never made it out of riverwood.

"Skyrim crash on save load" can you be more specific? Does it crash on old saves that have CD, saves that didn't have CD, and/or will it crash if you make a new game? Save cleaning change anything for the former? I'm assuming it crashes as you load the save, not crashing at certain places...

 

If new games don't work either, do you have mod organizer and can you make a new profile with only CD and CD dependancies and see if that changes anything? If it did fix the issue, download tesvedit select CD and see if there are any conflicts with other mods and try disabling working with those mods.

 

I don't recall ever seeing a papyrus log end with the message " VM is thawing...". They often end out of the blue, in a blizzard of errors or with a message like "VM is freezing..." rather than thawing, I don't know what that means I just thought it was odd.

 

You still get the crash with a double save load right, loading a young save, first save of a new game, then loading into the save you want from that point? It looks like you already did, since the log mentioned reverting the game, but just double checking.

Youre not alone i very recently started having the exact same issue it wasn't to bad until 2 days ago now i'm remaking characters like crazy trying to just play. Im not even 100% on the cause for me but after seeing your post and xxzandyxx1's i'm wondering i have yet to make it past lvl 30 before my save just crash when i try to load em any external app i use to try to fix em also ctds when i try to load the save. Last new character died at level 1 never made it out of riverwood.

 

I found issue with Enhanced Lighting for ENB and relighting skyrim in Tes5edit

But I don't know if these issues make skyrim CTD when we load a save (probably not)

I had stated this some time ago that the dialogue for the Embassy quest was cut rather short, I was not happy with the ending but did not have time to add the related material (story related). I will be changing parts of the dialogue for v4, mainly the opening and closing parts, as well as making it optional. The main thing with the quest was to provoke a reaction from players, good or bad, while their character was reduced to a 'thing', not a person but a true slave.

 

Thanks for clarifying that. Somehow I tend to miss the objectification angle. Should probably mention that I've been following this mod's development for awhile, and really appreciate what you've been doing.

You want to hypnotize the player first, get them all immersive, stroke them on their eager but terrified cheek, and say some bit about playing-slave and really being one.

Then when the player returns, treat them a little less like dog-food and more like "You're close, %submissive%",

or "Now you know the other side, %dominant%"

I think the main problem is that this quest is a bit of an immersion/roleplaying breaker. Will have to be a bit verbose to explain.

 

There's a thought that hardcore content is not for everyone, meaning anyone into b&d stuff. One thing enjoying player character bound, struggling and begging, another altogether is watching her being mass raped, fist-fucked or beaten to a bloody pulp by that buffed-up shop pimp-guard whatever-his-name-is. But there's more to it in that it deprives player the ability to sympathize/empathize with his char. Again, not everyone would picture their char ready for that kind of abuse (for myself, a resolutely single male, that kind of fantasy can actually be a bit... unhealthy, but that's past the point); and when the char is put in this kind of situation, and past it, forced to admit that she wasn't particularly impressed by it, i.e. being able to "joke about it", or not being able to retaliate, as previous queries suggested - that does not correspond well with the image of their chars personality in player's (mod user's) mind.

 

This is similar to vanilla Skyrim's character personality problems. The user has to feel some connection to the char they're playing, alter-ego-style or otherwise, but the game, with it's complete unrestricted universality principle, does not provide much opportunity for that. Consider dialogue: everything the player char has to say can be put in two categories, "pussy" and "asshole", and the dialogue outcome is usually unchanged regardless of what is chosen. After the player has chosen which of the two categories his char belongs to, (s)he will almost certainly be mouthed off or insulted. That pretty much destroys any kind of connection to the player character and gives negative impact on gameplay. Btw, this impossibility of alter-ego connection is one of the reasons male players often run female characters. (Like that random encounter scene with a farmer leading a brahmin for sacrifice: as a male, you just talk to anything that moves, but what interest would a girl have to chat up some dirty peasant? There's a kind of depth there, and you're able to feel your char more when playing as female.)

 

Pretty much the same here. Don't get me wrong, this mod is one of a kind, some presentations of b&d concepts are immensely powerful, it's just that this embassy quest seems to fall out of the whole picture and degrade overall mod's playability. As I understand it, this quest was conceived of Veladarius' intent to explore the possibilities offered by SexLab and/or Zaz animation pack mods, hence the plenitude of sex scenes and such; I just hope that Veladarius would consider reducing the brutality of the content here (which is in my opinion better that introducing some "hostile takeover" stuff mentioned in the posts above).

 

While I'm at it, might as well mention that "mind control" stuff. While definitely plausible in some scenarios, it can essentially wipe out all the more subtle psychological aspects of b&d: when the sub is robbed of the ability to react to or influence her predicament and is just unconditionally put from one bondage scenario to another, things could become very stale very fast. Just something to consider.

Few other things:

- The mod, for the most part, was built with a submissive female character in mind but I started adding male directed dialogue towards the end of making the Embassy quest but nothing major.

- The quest was not made with an all powerful dragonborn in mind, the typical level would probably be about 10-15 and the Master would likely kill you rather quickly (I have seen her kill dragons in 2-3 shots).

- The Mind control part was a necessity in some places both for reaction and utility and is not something I like to use, having multiple reactions in a number of circumstances is a lot of work.

Good to know. In which case, I reiterate my earlier recommendation of "getting back" at Master. Perhaps something like the options available for turning against Mr. House in Fallout: New Vegas.

 

In response to your other points:

- Since experimenting with erotic mods from this site, I generally find myself playing an escaped female slave. In such instances, I tend to play with the mindset "never again" (or if so, grudgingly and/or with Sanguine's Rage active), with some recreational bondage thrown in. Having Master continually talk down to my character regardless of established dominance or standing with the company gets rather grating after a while. And sending my unwitting char off to be gang-raped and tortured by the Thalmor (oh, the things I wanted to do to the guests at that dinner party) seems like the sort of thing that would foster a grudge and cause her to cut ties with Captured Dreams at the very least.

- Understandable. My current char is in the high 40s atm, and having fought her at different levels I can vouch for how tough she is. However, this seems like a situation where biding one's time for the right opportunity would be a better course of action than direct violence. Revenge is a dish best served cold, after all.

- Given the way you set up the main quests, I completely understand the necessity of the mechanic.

 

Finally, thank you for all the hard work you put into this. Whatever criticisms I have, I love this mod.

(Sry to barge in, but I think there should be a generic nerdy answer to this kind of questions somewhere.)

 

Consider two things:

1. Content creation, multiplied by imperfections of tools used (Creation Kit namely), combined with real life problems - is an atrociously fragile thing. It's virtually impossible to even closely predict the time frame required to accomplish any but the most basic tasks. Worst case scenario: a modder encounters a problem implementing an idea to which there is no evident solution. So the modder has to modify a part of his content to circumvent the problem. Time frame for this could be comparable to time required to create a part of the mod. During this, some real life stuff kicks in, and the release is postponed indefinitely. This has a small but noteworthy non-zero chance of happening with anything at any stage of development.

 

2. If you're feeling itchy about this mod's update now (I know I do, sometimes), there's a bigger chance that you won't be "in the mood" when it finally hits, or it won't be a convenient time for you in some other way. Obvious solution for this - find a way to stop feeling itchy.

My impressions of the Embassy quest were that it fits quite well for a narrower set of player character roleplay - namely that of a capable female adventurer who has become fascinated with the Master character and the idea of getting closer to her in a submissive fashion.  In that scenario the Embassy quest makes sense as a litmus test on this woman who keeps willingly showing up and acquiescing to more and more compromising and submissive situations, where she has had ample opportunity to pay her bills and walk away.  If she sticks it out without blowing a gasket and trying to kill everyone or runs off, she might be a good candidate for more attention.

 

In could totally see the quest being a non-starter for someone trying to play through as a dominant character or, even worse, the all powerful dragonborn who has treated with gods and daedra on a personal level and wields political power in all the major holds of the land.  Of course, very few bondage sex mods make any type of immersion sense with the base Skyrim main quest without a hell of a lot of imagination.  

 

The mod is ongoing of course, so hopefully the quest will slot in better down the line as Vel fleshes out the options more.  This mod could just as easily have been a simple linear quest mod with content gated by "complete x missions for the Master" with zero meaningful dialogue options, but the idea of choices and success/failure mattering makes it much more interesting to keep in my load order permanently.

(Sry to barge in, but I think there should be a generic nerdy answer to this kind of questions somewhere.)

 

Consider two things:

1. Content creation, multiplied by imperfections of tools used (Creation Kit namely), combined with real life problems - is an atrociously fragile thing. It's virtually impossible to even closely predict the time frame required to accomplish any but the most basic tasks. Worst case scenario: a modder encounters a problem implementing an idea to which there is no evident solution. So the modder has to modify a part of his content to circumvent the problem. Time frame for this could be comparable to time required to create a part of the mod. During this, some real life stuff kicks in, and the release is postponed indefinitely. This has a small but noteworthy non-zero chance of happening with anything at any stage of development.

 

2. If you're feeling itchy about this mod's update now (I know I do, sometimes), there's a bigger chance that you won't be "in the mood" when it finally hits, or it won't be a convenient time for you in some other way. Obvious solution for this - find a way to stop feeling itchy.

When? I don't know. I am testing / debugging some of the major parts which are horribly complex (the Embassy quest doesn't come close to them) and it is being a huge pain in the ass. Recent development is that only one type of guest was showing up (Master) and I wanted to check the slave quest side. I had not set up the script correctly to pick one or the other so it only sent a Master, the changes I made now send no one :angry:. My thinking currently is to finish the existing quests in development, make adjustments on the older ones (dialogue and such) then release. It leaves out some content but after that releases will be smaller, more focused and more frequent.

but Master never tells you that you'll be hers soon, it's something the bitch Elenwen Assumed or plain made up.

Master treats people like a dancing instructor in some Russian Gulag-school, she never seems to warm up (without a Lot of help from other mods).

If this is a preview of slavery, then Player is a prostitute put out by sadistic pimps.

  Overall the mod itself is technically excellent, and when other mods fail, Captured dreams stands as a respected example.

It's brilliant, not to gush or anything.

But flame-proofing aside, Master is not who I'd choose, I'd choose Kara, or Nissa, they're pleasant.

Maybe it's psychological, pay someone a few septims and they'll be your abject object of derision...hmm

O, forget "dragonborn", it's a quest I do idly between the succubus stuff and Sanguine's stuff, and the blkack-book stuff, so it isn't pride.

Peaches loves being someone reliable, she has a crush on Kara, and she wishes, when asked, not to get the line "Gold is always good", because she isn't there for the gold.

"ooo, you must really want to be a slave"

never shows up anymore (so much for trends).

I cant explain why but I did do as atleast 2 others did when faced with saves getting screwed hard and removed this now my games running better i haven't had a issue since. My guess is this is not compatible with either sl 2.60 or dd Integration 2.9.1 both i started updating around the same time which i think is when i started having my issues. At first i could get up to lvl 20-30 before id be repeating tons of stuff just to recatch to where a bad save happened but after sl 2.60 went live it seemingly got a lot worse while some times i could play for several levels and not have a issue the past few days i couldn't expect to quit and reload after i got to riverwood anymore. Guess now for me to offload dd items my fighter has to get to the perma perk that lets me ell anything to any vendor quickly to keep all that stuff from piling up she tends to get locked up alot from dd cursed loot.

Odds are then it is a different mod that's conflicting somehow after months of trying to figure this issue out im at my wits end well way beyond that think ripped out hair new keyboard new patches to my walls i've even posted on here looking for ideas/help but got little help i cant even be sure this mod is it its another attempt in a very long line of attempted fixes i've even completely rebuilt my lo wiping my nmm install and redling twice excluding a bunch of mods i used to use then evenly swapping to mo. Every time I see someone pop in somewhere with a similar issue I jump up and down with joy and hope but to date i get let down. All I want is to play though this damn game but im to spoiled to just go min lo for fixes only I beat the game finished all quests back when it dropped in 3 days time and done it a few other times since but been a few yrs since the last time.

I went and installed the teeniest mod and it messed up (slightly) sexlab.

Can I *guess* some mods use more memory than others, and it messes up mods mid-game?

If no one cared about immersion, I suppose restarting the game every time a mod gets updated (so 50 mods, every other day)

would be sound advice, and I've heard people have different game-save sets for every mod!

I love playing not debugging, but recently some nice mods have little check-pages built in to see if something's wrong.

My game is far from perfect, but I clean sexlab a lot and try to keep skse.ini and whatserface.ini (so, all the INI's) set up nicely.

 

But that's not why I'm here, I just wanted to jump up and down for joy about the captured-dreams variable

I think that's what it's called, anyway it's the variable determining when Player is trustworthy enough to go without a belt during deliveries.

There are two variables,

Ones is for errands,

One is for the rank.

A few others determine which errands failed.

So, in summary, the mechanism for rank is already in place, I sincerely hope it's used more.

Like, maybe for wishes/relationships.

I spent endless game-hours waiting for Turdas so I could ask if She had any jobs available, just so I could retrieve my delivery and up my rank.

This waiting is built-into the mod, the whole three-days thing, but conditions had to be exactly right.

Now with this new variable, I'll do an errand and up my rank to maybe 25.

I've been wondering why you wouldn't release smaller updates as it would give you more bughunters (yay!). Also when releases are smaller, finding and solving those bugs would be easier? Yes it might brick saves more often but I've yet to see extensively tested mod that didn't have a single bug. And you could always keep the last stable version available for those that didn't want to participate in testing.

 

That said, I'm a huge fan of the mod and many thanks to you. :cool:

As a coder, I have to pipe in and say.... not all things are easily divisible. :)

 

His stuff tends to have large chunks of events (big single pieces), can't really break them up.  And if you try, you spend a lot of time jury rigging half a quest so it works half coded, instead of spending time actually finishing it.

 

My guess anyway ;)

Sure, I understand that. But for example V3 had 4 separate quests that could've maybe been split into say 2/4 releases, even if only one them was "big" quest. I've not really checked any of the scripts of CD to know how those are built and if it would produce any problems later. Then again even with "large chunks" -releases you may decide to change something later which breaks other stuff. All I'm saying is you don't necessarily need to have 5+ quests to release an update. :P

The expansion quests were mostly linear, with this update it seems we're getting a lot of "radiant" content, with a lot of small choices / randomness but few points where you can split the content without it biting you in the ass later.

First time playing the mod and I'm having some issues. I just got to the thalmor embassy, but I'm stuck now, can't move, and the trigger to move forward isn't happening. It's right after I talk to the elf when I get in, she tells the guard to remove my stuff and tie me to the floor. The screen goes blurry like it did when I first walked in, but I'm never teleported. Nothing happens. The blur goes away and I'm just standing where I used to be, unable to move or do anything.

 

I've tried twice now, and it's the same result. Any thoughts?

I emptied all my items, but had the same problem as the other guy. Stuck at stage 125. Waiting hours didn't matter. I was able to proceed by changing the stage to 150.

You need to go into Zaz animation MCM and set 'force player AI', in a later scene you'll need to hit the 'release' option then switch back to player AI.

I found that using setstage borked the rest of the quest and all subsequent quests, reverting to an earlier save and using the MCM settings got everything moving smoothly again.

 

Although I have to say the whole embassy quest rubbed me up the wrong way. Being duped into being the ambassadors plaything for the weekend would have been fine. The gang-rape and assault was way out of line. And the Master being totally okay with that, not a hint of remorse, puts her in clueless Christian Grey noob wannabe territory.

I emptied all my items, but had the same problem as the other guy. Stuck at stage 125. Waiting hours didn't matter. I was able to proceed by changing the stage to 150.

 

I have done some testing and had the same issue. I was able to get the scene to continue without console commands by doing the following:

 

- Enabled controls in the MCM menu

- Switched to first person view (would not move in third person for some reason)

- Jumped to break the bound animation

- Disabled controls in the MCM menu

 

After that the scene continued as normal. The only thing I can think of is that the animation is keeping the scene from finishing. The last phase (last action) starts with the players items being removed and the fadeout starting and upon it ending it sets the new stage and resets the player idle. I was able to confirm that all of my items were removed prior to doing the above actions so the opening script fragment finished (Integration worked properly as well per the logs). The only thing I can think of is something with the bound animation keeping it from advancing but I am not sure how that could do it.
